And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧ How long had she been here, a day, two days? The others had to have noticed she was missing. Someone had to have noticed her absence -- Clarke, Gena, Bellamy, anyone. God she should never had come here but forethought was not something Leiana took into consideration when someone was dictating what she could and couldn't do. So she had snuck out in the dead of night, when the guards were changing shifts, and into the Azgeda territory here in Polis. All so she could gather information on the enemy because the self-important adults, had said it was no place for a child let alone a blind one.
Leiana wanted to prove them wrong. She had wanted to be spiteful because her feelings were hurt. The adults had come down to earth and taken over as though they weren't the ones responsible for sending her and ninety-nine other delinquents to their deaths. But Kane and Abby had been right, she wasn't cut out to be a spy. She had been found while skulking about and now she hurt all over. The Azgeda warrior that had taken her prisoner had seemed to enjoy punishing her when she struggled. She remembered him hitting her in the face, and then nothing as she blacked out.
Sometime later she'd awoken alone in a room. Her wrists were bound together, the rope rubbing her skin raw when she tried to free herself. Her face hurt, a lip split, a cheek swollen, an eye bruised. She was alone with her thoughts. Leiana imagined that worst of the worst -- torture, rape, death by a thousand cuts. Each thought was worse then the last and left tears streaking down her face. Without warning the door opened and Leiana scrambled to her feet. She retreated into a corner until her back hit the wall, thinking it would somehow make it harder to get to her. She felt like a wounded animal trapped in a cage with no way out.

Roan heard from the men that they had captured a skaikru spy. A spy of these people, Roan almost wanted to laugh. They were like children, clumsy, entirely incapable - yet - of adapting to the ground. Formally Roan was a prisoner, but his people allowed him a certain amount of liberty. And this allowed him to go to the room where the so called spy was. He was surprised when he saw her, cowering back. She was beautiful, not an ounce of muscle on her. He would bet her hands were soft, unknown to fighting, to actually doing what they feared she might be able to do. This was certainly not a spy. But what was she really doing here?
"This is not a spy." He told the others. Damn them. "Are you really this stupid? This could be seen as an act of war. The commander will not take kindly to Azgeda just randomly imprisoning a skaikru girl, spy or not. Has she committed any true crime?" He highly doubted it. Roan moved forward, hands held up to show her, hopefully that he meant no harm. "You are not truly a spy, are you?"

❧ Leia's breath become trapped in her lungs when the men began speaking. English, she understood them for once and was so thankful for this. If she wasn't being kept prisoner she would have been annoyed that he so quickly dismissed the possibility that she was a spy. But antagonizing her captors wouldn't do any good at all, so whatever emotions had been rising sank down when the man turned his attention to her. He was a good deal taller than she was, towering over her, making her feel smaller than she already was. His eyes were captivating; they spoke a dozen stories -- anger, hurt, betrayal, strength, intimidation, even ambition. He frightened her without any effort at all. But his hands were held up in the universal sign for 'hold on a damn minute' so she only stared at him, breath held, and as still as stone. Her back was pressed firmly against the wall, preventing a retreat as he approached. "No, I'm not." Her voice was soft, hesitant because that was technically a lie. She had come to spy on them, to gather information for Abby and Kane and Clarke. But Leiana knew she wasn't cut out to be a spy. Her heart wasn't ready for it, wasn't hardened enough for it. It was getting there, though... the ground had a way of doing that to a person. She let out a shaky breath and met his eyes. "Are you going to kill me?"

Kill her? That was not part of the plan here. It would cause more disruptions and honestly? He guessed being captured and having to fear for ones life after something like that was hard enough in her situation. Roan shook his head. "I will not kill you. But I am afraid I can make them let you go." That was something else entirely. If she crossed lines, she had to pay for. And in this case Azgeda would keep her prisoner, he knew as much, because they might need her. They might need proof. Since she had caught no harm he could not see them harming her just yet. If they wanted to play Heda, that was to be it. They had to at least look like they were playing her game. And keeping her, just like she was keeping him, was an important piece of that.
"Who sent you here?" He asked her the. He was convinced she was either sent or sent herself because of someone. The prince sat down and watched her. "Going into Polis alone, into Azgedan area isn't exactly clever." But at the same time it took guts to do so and he admired that, in a way. "It's not exactly times like this where you can just be sure of your life. Under other circumstances you would have been killed. Under other circumstances they wouldn't have needed proof of you being here and thus your life would not matter to them in the slightest."

❧ His words did nothing to calm the rapid beating of her heart. He wouldn't kill her but he couldn't arrange her release. That was disheartening but for the moment Leiana focused on him and not her predicament, though that was a task either said than done. Leiana knew the seriousness of what she had done. The absolute danger she had so willingly walked into.
"No one sent me." And that was the truth. Everyone-Clarke, Kane, Abby-had told her not to play at being a spy. Everyone had cautioned her on acting impulsively. Everyone had told her that Polis was no place for a blind girl that could scarcely defend herself. But she had come anyway. Why?
Because she needed to prove them wrong. Because she needed to do something to help her people. Because she was tired of always being treated like a child that needed protection. None of the one hundred were children anymore. Earth had hardened them. Forced them to grow up sooner than was fair.
"My life doesn't matter to them one way or another." She answered softly as she looked away from him. Earth had a way of exposing the worst in people, along with their weaknesses, their strengths. People didn't survive down here without blood being split. "I'm a pawn so that they can hurt my people. And when I'm no longer useful.. their going to kill me... aren't they?"
