Things were finally settling down after the Mount Weather fiasco. They had renamed the camp to Arkadia; a much more fitting name. Miller was finally able to spend time with his dad and it was during this, that with Bellamy's recommendation and some basic testing . . . Miller was given the position of guardsman. Equipped with a weapon, uniform and everything. It was all he could do to move forward. The events of Mount Weather had taken its toll on many of them, some more than others. The physical and emotional repercussions of it more severe among a certain few.

Miller was alive though. Most of their people made it out. They had to focus on the positive . . . cause, what point was there dwelling in things that could not be changed? Clad in his uniform, he made his way to the gate, seeing his friend Monty wandering about. "Hey," he called to him in greeting, approaching the other. It was no secret as to what the state of Jasper was. And it wasn't good. "What's up?" He asked, wondering if Monty was looking for something . . . even if it was just quiet. Whatever it was, Miller wanted to know if he could help in any way.

[Monty Green]

Monty was coping well after returning from Mount Weather with the others, at least that’s what he told himself. He buried all of those feelings deep down inside of himself so that he wouldn't have to deal with them and most of the time it worked. He still suffered from the occasional nightmare, he’d wake up in the middle of the night sweating while the images of his nightmare still swam in his mind. He couldn’t complain though, because he knew others that weren’t getting off with just a few nightmares to remind them of their ordeal. Jasper was perhaps one of the worst ones and it hurt Monty to see his friend suffering like he was but whenever he reached out to help him, Jasper would just come up with another way to push him away. It wasn’t a secret that Jasper blamed him for what had happened… Even if it wasn’t just him who’d made the decision that had been made.

There was only so much crap that Monty could put up with from his friend before he snapped and started yelling back at him but that didn’t get them anywhere, it just made things worse. So when things got that bad Monty’s only option was to walk away and take the time to cool off and that was what led Monty to seek refuge outside. He was almost certain that he wouldn’t run into Jasper out there and that was enough to give him some peace of mind. Just five minutes of silence would help to relieve the tension that he felt coiled up inside him. Monty looked up surprised when he heard a familiar voice but smiled when he saw that it was only Miller “hey” he greeted him as the other man approached him “I thought a walk might help me to relax” he said, answering Miller’s question with a small shrug. Usually he might prefer to be alone but maybe talking to a friend might help him to feel better about his current situation with Jasper, at least it was helpful to see that he had friends that didn’t hate him.
