whatever THE HELL WE WANT 100 people. That was what it had come down to. The number a painful reminder of them being sent to the ground. A number that cut their own people severely. Because it wasn't even 100: it was 50. Thanks to a deal that Clarke made with Roan. Though, she was the only reason he was in here. He would have much rather give his position to someone else. But they had agreed; if she was in here, so was he. And, he cared too much about Clarke to let her die.
So alas, here he was. The Arkers and Grounders learning to coexist. It was not easy, the tenions felt but . . . right now, more felt was the severe loss. Those who mourned for their loved ones. Those who resented the ones who made the decision of who lives and who dies. They had been forced out and Bellamy could only hope that by some miracle, they found bunkers that would withstand Earth's attacks. It was late and most had retired for the night, but sleep eluded him. Instead, he made his way to the Hangar, the place quiet; empty.
Footsteps in the hall immediately captured his attention, constantly on edge considering they were living with people who had once been their enemies. He looked at Echo before turning his gaze back to the Hangar. Tensions were already high between their people; but with Echo . . . it was personal. "Couldn't sleep?" He began. "Or are our beds not good enough for you?" He knew he was being snarky; frustrated with the fact that they had to leave so many of their people to die. Resenting himself for letting it happen. And unfortunately, his past tensions with Echo made her a target for his remark.

No wonder they had known so little of the world--they had been so cut off from it. Echo walked around the place, annoyed that her footsteps couldn't be silent in this steel box where even her breathing seemed to echo off the walls, like her name sake. She was also struggling to find her way around. She wasn't lost, but she didn't know where she was going. Nothing made sense with these halls and no trees. Nothing seemed to look or smell, or even be different. It was gray, it was ugly, and she was in hell.
She ended up entering the large open room behind Bellamy. She wondered briefly if being here together would soften his anger, but once he spoke she knew it wouldn't be so. She could deal with his anger. She had made sure he and his sister wasn't dead. The others weren't his people but the ones fighting hers for so long. She hadn't known that he had others in there eh cared about or should not have returned his favor of saving her life by taking one he valued. "I don't care about the beds, as long as your walls are good enough." She walked past him and looked around the large room. She could find her way to about anywhere from here, but going to other places from other places was still tricky. "This is how you lived?" She said it as a statement more then a question. No hunting, no running, no war.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy listened as she stated that she only cared about the walls. "Well, they're keeping us alive." He paused for a moment. "Both of our people." A reminder, or perhaps acknowledgment that he didn't intend to fight her on anything; despite his initially snarky comment. His mind thought back to her question of whether they would ever be able to trust each toher. He wished the answer was easier, but he also knew that having them inside these walls . . . came with an inevitable expression of trust. From both their parts he supposed.
He watched her she moved deeper into the room, the surroundings unfamiliar to her. Just as the ground had been when they first landed. "Yeah," he answered simply. "For most of our people, its all they've ever known. It's all they'll ever know." Because they had lost so many; so many Arkers would never see the ground. And, Bellamy couldn't help but think that maybe . . . that was a blessing in diguise. Death was a release from this constant fight for survival. One that had grown exhausting.

This is why they were weak. No hunting. No fighting. Nothing to train for, nothing to DO but wait. She would die here, and it leveled a panic deep inside. She was used to living each day fighting for the next--and now she had nothing to do but wait and protect her king, and wait some more. It seemed maddening.
She turned to look at him, keeping her face free of the emotion this place stirred. "And now we shall die here." She countered, not bothering to hide the fact that they would not live long enough to see the end of primefira, even if they managed not to kill each other and grow old. Growing old hadn't been her plan. "What did your people to do when living with the stars?" Besides walk in circles and grow weak. "What will you do now?" She took a few steps closer, but didn't move closer then that. She wasn't afraid of him, but nor did she need a reason for him to start something that he couldn't finish if he attacked her. Maybe that was what they could do. She could teach him to stop hiding behind the guns. Even if they served him well.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Maybe she was right. Maybe they would all die anyway. Maybe there was no point to any of this. But . . . Bellamy had to hold onto some semblance of hope. If not for himself, then for the sake of the others. "Well aren't you quite the optimist," he teased, not entirely in a friendly or playful way. Though feeding into their tensiosn would not help anything or anyone. Fortuantely, her next questions helped in the distracting of his mind, though perhaps there wasn't anything that could fully distract him. "We survived," he answered. Just like they did down here but in a very different way.
"We worked. Studied. Played music. Enjoyed each others company." Memories that were both fond and painful. For the Ark had been difficult in its own way. It had its own set of challenges, especially for the Blakes. Her next question pulled him back into reality, surprised by it but remained stoic. "I don't know." And Bellamy felt surprised yet again by his honest admittance to her. "Right now, I'm just trying to help keep everyone alive." And he would continue to do that. They could not control what was happening out there, but he could try to protect them from in here. "You?" Genuine curiosity in his voice to know what her own plans were now that she was pulled from her natural environment, and held within their walls with the others to survive the damn apocalypse.

They survived? That didn't tell her anything. He was very forced on this idea. "Sounds thrilling." She said in the same tone had had used. She watched him, trying to read what she could from his face and body language. He admitted to just trying to keep everyone alive, and asked her what she was trying to do. "I am a spy. What good is a spy or general with no enemies?" She didn't have a purpose here. She didn't have anything to do here besides wait and protect her king--and he kept telling her he didn't need it.
She looked around here, and then back at him. In her world, she knew exactly what was expected of her and how she would do the task that she had to do. Here, she didn't have anything to do but wait. "Will it always be like this between us?" She asked, not bothering to dance around the tension between them. She didn't want to be at odds with him. She had keep the secret of his man who had almost shot Roan from her king, and she had admitted that she had tried to protect him. She didn't expect them to be friends, but they were allies now and she didn't want there to be this between them.
