Hadley heard the amusement in her voice and hid his face in his hands blushing as a soft chuckle let his lips. He looked back over at her and smiled. "Trust me...I am not at all upset about you being in my bed right now." He traced another pattern over her hand as he spoke. "But starting the night this way was definitely not in my game plan." He chuckled again. 

At her mention of alcohol being sparse on the Ark, as well as tea, he nodded. It made sense. Rationing plus what was worth keeping around and what wasn't. But then he remembered what her father had said about her being drugged...the alcohol very well could interact with whatever they injected into her. He hadn't thought of that. He wasn't a doctor, but he knew that much not to mix it. "Let's start with some tea...I want to make sure that whatever they gave you wears off...Tea should help."He smiled and went to push himself up out of bed.

He stopped in his tracks at her next words about his trying to sleep with her. He turned to face her, another blush apparent on his face. When she said she was messing with him, he let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding and laughed again. As her lips met his, he kissed her back. "You are something else Miss Faye..." He whispered against her lips. "And my bed is always open if it's a place you want to be...." He added on as he pulled away to go grab tea. He winked at her and made his way to the kitchen. 

He warmed some water and dug through his pantry for the tea and a mug. Setting it all up, he carried the tea back to his bedroom. Carefully placing it on the nightstand, he sat on the edge of the bed by her, running his fingers over one of her arms. "I'm going to go make some for myself....I'll be right back..." He said with a smile as he pushed himself up off the bed again, leaving her for a moment.

Part of her couldn't get over how innocent he was and how easy it was to make him blush. But the other part of her thought it was nice and definitely a change from any boys she had flirted with before. It was a welcome change and Faye felt good about spending her time with Hadley. He suggested trying some tea and she nodded in agreement. The sound of alcohol sounded nice, especially after the day she was having, but she knew that he didn't want to mess with her system too much. Grinning at him, she was glad to see that he could have some fun too. "Of course this is where I want to be," she said. While she wasn't in the best of shape, she wasn't completely turned off to the idea of having some fun with him. But she knew he was likely not ready for anything like that.

"Thank you," she said when he brought her some tea. Faye picked up the mug and brought it to her lips, taking a small sip to test the flavor and the temperature. It felt good, running down her throat. It was soothing and definitely what she needed. She watched as Hadley walked away to make himself some and she set her mug down on his nightstand. Faye scooted back down on his bed and laid on her side, staring at the door that Hadley had disappeared to.

Hadley was glad that she wanted to be there...not only with him, but in his bed. The thought alone was enough to make him smile. But it was something he would keep in mind. He wasn't quite sure where this was going with the two of them, but he liked the path they were on so far. Taking a deep breath, he let his own tea warm up, and took a sip leaning against the kitchen counter. He knew that just through that door was a beautiful woman in his bed, waiting for him. And he wasn't afraid...he was excited. He liked what he felt when he was around her. It was new for him..and he didn't want the feeling to stop.


Taking another sip of his tea, he made his way back to his bedroom. Smiling, when he saw her cuddled up facing the door, he went to the other side of the bed and put his tea down, crawling in behind her. Draping his arm over her waist, he kissed her neck gently. He could feel her pulse under his lips. Running his hand up and down her arm and back to her waist over and over, he smiled against her skin. She was coming down from her drugs. Her heart beat was coming back to normal. That was good. 


Placing another gentle kiss against her pulse, he spoke. "What are you thinking about?" He whispered against her skin.

Being alone made her think about everything. She thought about Hadley and how this was going to affect his life in mount weather. She thought about how the whole thing would be for his father for helping her leave in the first place. Faye had never been fond of the idea of people putting their asses on the line for her, yet she had done the same thing so many times for people she loved. Then she thought about how she was going to help the other kids and how she was going to get them out of there. Thoughts of having to leave Hadley entered her mind and it made her frown. That's not what she wanted. But she also knew she couldn't stay here forever. Faye knew her life would not be a long one if she remained in mount weather.

Hadley walked back into the room and she smiled at him. He crawled into bed behind her and brought her close to his body. There it was again. That feeling of safety that she couldn't shake. She felt good with him. A soft chuckle left her lips when she felt him kiss her neck. Asking her what she was thinking about, Faye took a moment to debate her answer. After a moment, she sighed. "You," she said softly. She thought about her feelings for him and how much she didn't want to leave him. How much she wanted him in general.

You. The one word was enough to make him smile. And honestly had she said it and looked into his eyes he would have probably blushed considering how much he already had today. He smiled against her skin, and leaned up, gently turning her body so it was under his. "What about me?" He asked with a laugh and leaned down to kiss her lips and then her neck again before laying next to her again, resting his head on his hand looking down at her. 


Hadley would gladly be the focus of her thoughts for a while if it took her mind off of what happened to her in the hours prior. Granted he'd love to be the focus of her thoughts when she wasn't recovering from a horrific day. But if it helped her recover, he had no problem with it. But he also knew that the two of them, and these feelings, were becoming more apparent. It had been building since the day they had met. The constant meetings in the library only solidified something for them. They had everything and nothing in common. They were night and day and yet something about them clicked. And maybe that's why he liked her. 


And 'like' was a weak word for what Hadley was feeling. He felt so deeply connected to Faye that he was scared of what would happen when it came time for her to leave. Not so much leave his apartment, but leave the Mountain all together. He knew that even if she wanted to stay here, she couldn't. But the fact that she was adamant about leaving to save her friends, as much as it broke his heart, he admired it. He knew she was doing what was best..and that unfortunately meant that their 'relationship' had to be pushed aside.

He turned her body and she allowed him to. Now on her back, she was able to look at his face and into his eyes. There was something there she couldn't place. But he was able to distract her with another kiss to her lips. Faye kissed him back, placing a hand on his shoulder. He moved down and kissed her neck, causing her to close her eyes and exhale with a soft sigh. She wasn't sure if he understood how much of a hold he had over her. Hell, she didn't even think she understood how much he had a hold over her. She shrugged at his question for a moment. It was a fair question since her statement had been so loaded. But what was she supposed to say? She was torn between telling him everything she felt and just telling him a few things.

"I don't know," she said after a moment. "How much I like being here with you. How I never want to leave this bed and just stay here in this apartment. How I don't want to leave you when the time comes, because we both know it will." Not leave the apartment. No. While she didn't specify, her words referred to her having to leave the mountain. "I guess we should just . . . make the most of the time we have together, right?" She asked. But Faye felt as if they were living on borrowed time already.

Hadley stroked her cheek gently as she spoke. He smiled at her not wanting to leave his bed or him. He knew how hard that had to be for her to say. It meant the world to him. But her next words hit him hard. She was right and he knew it too. They had to part ways eventually. When that time would come, neither of them could be sure. But it would come...some time. However, Faye was right. Why waste the time they did have worrying about it?


He kissed her lips again. "As far as I'm concerned, any time we have is yours..." He said softly and kissed her again, not wanting to pull away this time...so he didn't. He fully intended to spend as much time as he could with her. They only had limited time left before something was to happen. Either she would leave or escape...and he'd be here in the Mountain. He didn't want to think about that day, but he knew that it was coming. And although the thought scared him, he had to take advantage of any time they were granted now. 


Continuing the kiss, he ran his hand down her side to her waist and squeezed it gently, the other arm supporting him slightly above her. He wasn't sure where they were headed now, he didn't want her to feel pressured into anything, but her lips were addictive and he wanted to get as much of his addiction as he could while he could.

She knew she shouldn't be telling him the feelings she had for him. She should be trying to distance herself from Hadley in order to make her leaving easier on the both of them. What was the point in getting so involved with someone you knew you couldn't be with? It was just going to cause heartbreak on both ends and Faye didn't want to experience that. But she also knew that not experiencing it would only make things worse. She would always wonder what could have been or wonder what she had robbed herself of.  Faye returned his smile, even though hers was small and a bit sad. It was sad that they both knew the reality of the situation but at least neither of them were living with false hope.

He pressed his lips to hers and she kissed him back. Her arms wrapped around his neck and pulled him closer, not wanting to let him go. The feeling of his hand squeezing her waist caused a small groan to leave her lips. He wasn't making this easy on her. Because quite frankly, she wanted him. Pulling back for a moment, she rested her forehead against his. "We don't have to uhm . . . do anything you aren't ready to do." She felt awkward saying the words but Faye wanted him to know that she was fine with whatever. While Faye had been with guys before, she had no idea what sort of experience Hadley had.

Hadley felt her arms wrap around his neck. He helped lift her body a bit, sitting himself up slowly, letting her sit in his lap, never letting his lips leave hers. Hearing the groan leave her lips, he felt sometime turn on inside of him. Granted she had him turned on quite a bit already, but that sound was only making it more apparent. Feeling her pull away and rest her forehead against his, he opened his eyes to meet hers. Her words brought a sweet smirk to his face. "You don't have to worry about me Faye..." He tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear and searched her eyes with his. "Whatever this is..whatever we are..I want it.." He kissed her cheek, then the corner of her lips. "I want you..." he said barely above a whisper, as his lips met hers again. 


He had been with women before. But nothing had ever connected as fast as it did with Faye. He was shy around many people, especially women, but when he wanted something he knew it and he would make it clear. Something about his connection with Faye was overpowering...but in the best way possible. He knew that what they had was something he'd never experience with another woman. It would be heartbreaking when their time came, but right now this was all that felt right and all that mattered. 


Holding her around her waist, he laid her back down on the bed, resting under him, his lips still attached to hers. He ran his hand up and down her side again and gently sucked on her bottom lip. His addiction was strong and it wasn't one that he was ready to end.

Faye exhaled when she heard him say the thing she wanted him to say. She wouldn't have been upset if he wanted to slow things down, nor would she have blamed him. But Faye was very glad that they were on the same page. Faye knew it probably wasn't smart for her to do something like this so soon. Not only was it so soon after coming off of drugs, but it was also soon in their relationship. Or rather, whatever it was. "Good," Faye breathed. Sitting in his lap, she moved her lips against his until he leaned back down, putting her back onto the bed.

The feeling of his hand running up her side made goosebumps appear along her skin. She kept her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling his body closer to hers until there was absolutely nothing between them. He bit her lip and she groaned at the sensation. Faye then moved her legs so he could settle between them, raising them slightly so her knees were positioned near his waist.

The one small word 'good' was enough for them. It confirmed something each of them already knew. They wanted each other and no matter how short they had known each other, there was something there. Hadley knew that they were already on borrowed time. Whatever was happening between them shouldn't have even happened in the first place. His people shouldn't have taken in hers...but here they were and whatever time they did have, he didn't want to waste. Because he knew one day this would have to end. 


A chill ran down his spine at her groan. Another sound he could add to the list of favorites. Feeling her move her legs to make room for him, he settled himself gently between them. As her arms tightened around his neck, he kept his arms on the side of her body, holding his weight off of her. Keeping his lips on her skin, he trailed his kisses to her jaw then her neck. He brought his lips back to hers and brought one of his hands back down her side to the hem of her shirt playing with it gently. He ran his hand over her bare skin just beneath her shirt and slowed his kisses running his tongue over her lips asking for an invitation...
