Tugging at her hair, Faye looked at herself in the reflection in the mirror. She looked tired. She was exhausted and hadn't gotten much sleep since a grounder had blown up mount weather. There had been lots of people she knew in the mountain, but one death had struck her particularly hard. A little girl named Emma. Faye knew her from her time working in the kitchen and she had even gone so far as to try and sneak the girl extra rations. She was probably six, hell maybe she had been seven when she died. Either way, Faye had been crushed when she found out about mount weather, but she had been extremely glad that Bellamy hadn't been inside at the time.
People were holding a memorial for those that were lost in mount weather. Faye knew she should go, but she didn't think she would be able to say anything. Emma had been special to her but it was just another person that had been taken away from her. She lost everyone she cared about. Even Clarke had left her, which had hurt like hell. Her only comfort had been in Bellamy. It was strange to think that the two had practically been at one another's throats when they first met. But as time went on she realized that she agreed more with Bellamy than with Clarke. It had been difficult, given her friendship with Clarke, but Faye had realized she had to do what she thought was right. In the end, she was glad she had supported some of Bellamy's ideas instead of Clarke's. Faye didn't trust grounders and distrusted them even more after Mount Weather.
Sighing, Faye let her hair fall from her hands. Her blonde waves of hair would just have to be left alone for now. She left her room and went to search for Bellamy. She didn't' know if he was going to the memorial or not. She knew he had been good friends with Gina, but she wasn't sure if he was going or not. She decided that if he was going, then she would go. Hooking up with Bellamy had sort of been unexpected. Sure, Faye had felt their connection grow as time went on, but she had never thought something would come from it. It hadn't been until Clarke abandoned the both of them that they got together. And Faye had to admit that Bellamy made her happy. Well, as happy as one could be in the world they lived in.
She knew she could find him in his room. That's where he usually was if he wasn't out on patrol or doing something with the guard. So she made her way towards his room, lightly knocking on his door before she opened it and let herself in. Faye gave him a quick kiss before sitting on his bed. "Are you going to the memorial?" She asked, her voice soft. A small smile graced her lips for a moment. "Have I told you lately I'm glad you weren't there? I'm not sure what I would have done without you," she confessed.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT This was completely his fault. He blamed Echo to an extent, of course but he had been the one naive enough to trust her. He had thought they held some rapport after Mount Weather, but once again, he had allowed himself to be so easily manipulated by her. And the result? Nearly 50 of their people dead. People who didn't have anything to do with the war against Grounders. Innocent people; innocent children. A trigger for Bellamy as he thought back to the other children he had killed . . . so many. Too many. When would it stop? He was unsure he could bare any more of this crushing guilt that fueled his self loathing. For with each death, burned another scar into his heart and soul.
The only saving grace, was the solace he found with Faye. But his feelings of not deserving it were growing increasingly strong. What right did he have to find any semblance of joy in this world when he had deprived so many others of it. He had just hung up his guard's jacket, not planning on wearing it to the memroail, when he heard a light knock followed by Faye's entrance. The light kiss felt soft and comforting as always, as she then sat on the bed and asked if he was going. Bellamy moved to sit next to her on the bed, starting to pull his boots on. "Yes," he answered simply. He had to go. He had to face what he had done, and allow the others to see it . . . the face of the man who was responsible for all those deaths.
He felt a surge of guilt course through him, slightly clenching his jaw at her next words, silence following as he proceeded to put on his other shoe. "I shouldn't have left," he said slightly shaking his head, before deciding he didn't want to burden her with his own guilt. He should have stayed and perhaps, he could have stopped the assassin. He turned to look at her, trying to force a smile but to no avail. He took her hand in his own, raising the back of her hand to his lips as he gently kissed her skin. "Come on. Let's go pay our respects to the people we lost." Forced words, because Bellamy had no right and yet . . . he would set everything aside, to keep fighting for their people.

She had sensed a change in Bellamy since mount weather. Of course, it was to be expected. She knew he took everything on his own shoulders and while part of her admired that about him, she also knew it would wear him down one day. She didn't like seeing him exhausted and stressed out. She didn't like seeing him wrecked with guilt. But Faye knew that no matter what she said, she couldn't take away his guilt. She didn't blame him for what had happened. She was just glad that he hadn't been in mount weather because she wasn't sure what she would have done without him.
The bed sunk down as he sat next to her and her eyes watched as he put on his boots. Faye could feel the tension radiating off of his body. She wished she could help him. She wished she could get him to forget about mount weather, even if only for a little while. Faye frowned when he pointed out that he shouldn't have left. "If you had stayed, you'd be dead. Octavia would be dead," she pointed out. Faye had been relieved when she learned that Octavia had left with Bellamy and Pike. He may not be willing to be selfish about things he wanted, but she was. "I need you, Bellamy. I can't do this without you. So yes, maybe I'm being selfish but I'm glad you're still here." He grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it, and she offered him a sad smile. She knew it was a waste of time to try to get him to understand that it wasn't all his fault, but she knew him better than that. She knew it was a waste of breath. So instead she focused on telling him that she needed him. He was her rock.
Nodding her head, Faye stood up from his bed, hand rubbing his shoulder in an attempt to comfort him. He wouldn't show his emotions but she knew he was upset. Faye was upset too,, but she didn't want Bellamy trying to comfort her. She wanted to be there for him. Before they left his room, Faye grabbed his hand and turned him to face her. She cupped his cheeks with both of her hands, looking at him in the eyes. "Hey," she said. "There's nothing you can do to make me stop caring about you, okay? I'm not leaving and I'm going to stay by your side." She needed him to know he had someone on his side. Faye leaned up and pressed her lips to his, wrapping her arms around his neck. The kiss was filled with emotion and the feelings she had for him. Pulling away after a moment, she pressed her forehead against his and sighed. "Let's go," she said. Pulling away, Faye grabbed his hand and lead him out of the room and they walked towards the place that would have the memorial.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Hearing that Octavia could have died caused Bellamy to clench his jaw at the thought, a constant fear of losing his sister ingrained in him since the moment she was born. It would never be a fear that wavered, but it was one that constantly intensified. "We could have done something," he said pensively in a quiet voice. He had left with the strongest guards that should have stayed here. Octavia, Pike and himself. They could have discovered the threat sooner. They could have caught the assassin. Instead, they left a group of vulnerable people, children . . . all because Bellamy had trusted the word of a Grounder.
He would never make that same mistaken again. He looked at her, giving a slight smile when she said that she was glad he was here. The remark further weighting his guilt. "I'm glad you're here," he told her with a continued soft smile. Not just here in Arkadia, but here . . . with him. The fact that she was meant more to him that he would ever fully be capable of expressing. When they stood, she paused, and he turned to face her, basking in the warmth of her hands as they lay upon his cheeks.
Her words made his heart swell with emotion, knowing it was evident in his gaze. He may not deserve to be happy but being with her . . . made him feel alive. Restored the humanity he thought lost after commiting genocide. She may have said that she was selfish, but he knew he was the more seflish one. He closed his eyes, his own hands on her waist when she kissed him, keeping her body close, letting himself bask in the sensation that consumed his heart, body, mind and soul. Engulfing him in the comfort that she never failed in bestowing him with. When she eased out of the kiss, he belatedly opened his eyes and looked at her. "Thank you, Faye." Words of gratitude, thick with sincerity. He was thanking her, for everything.
To have a support like her was what kept him going. Where he put his feelings aside for the betterment of their people, he knew he could let his emotion show with her. Without fear of judgment or expectation that he was meant to always hold it together. When Clarke had left, he'd thought he had lost that. But Faye proved to him that it was ok to let himself be with someone; to let himself be cared for. And . . . to care for someone else. With a slight nod, he stepped outside his quarters with her, as they made their way to where the memorial was being held. "Are you going to speak?" He asked, wondering if there was anyone in the mountain she wanted to be a voice for.

The question she had been asking herself all day was finally spoken out loud. Faye had someone she could speak for but she didn't know if she could. Part of her wanted to, but the other part of her knew that she couldn't. Her emotions were something that came easy when it came to Bellamy but with something like this . . . it was a little different. Her time with Bellamy was separate from everything else. It usually involved just the two of them. This would mean speaking in front of lots of people. No, Faye didn't think she could do that. "I don't know," Faye said softly. She stared at her feet as the pair walked down the hall. She wouldn't have a ton of time to figure it out. But Faye didn't want Emma to have no one to speak for her.
They walked into the room that the memorial was going to be held in. She noted chairs set up and people were even already sitting down. There was a good amount of people there already and Faye spotted Charles Pike among others that she knew. She nodded her head towards some chairs and sat down, looking at her hands in her lap. People started talking about the loved ones they had lost and how amazing they were. Faye listened intently and reached out, holding onto Bellamy's hand. She wasn't usually big on public displays of affection but right now she just wanted to feel connected to him. She wanted to remind herself that he was here and he was alive.

Tag: Faye Bates Note: I hope the lapse is alright! Let me know if you want me to edit anything! I didn't do the entire conversation because I didn't want to god mod Faye in terms of where she would be and such!!
whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy couldn't understand her hesitancy. Hell, he had no idea what he was going to say about Gena. Only that he should say something. When they entered, they sat down silently, listneing to the other speak about the people they had lost. Bellamy felt Faye reach for his hand, a gesture that provided him with instant comfort. He turned his head to look at her, an expression of gratitude evident in his gaze where words could not currently express how thankful he was to have her in his life. To be there for him, just as he hoped he could be there for her.
When Gena Martin was announced, Bellamy gave Faye's hand a gentle squeeze before he rose to his feet and made his way up to the front. He said a few words about her, trying to keep hismelf composed and his emotions in check. Though it was damn difficult. With all the losses that they had suffered, it grew increasingly hard to accept more and more. Death was never easy, and they were having to deal with far too much of it.
He finished his words with May we meet again before setting down a book that he knew she liked at the front stand. It was at that moment that a few guards burst through the doors. Bellamy was immediately distracted, eyeing the two men as they spoke to Pike. He could feel it. Something was wrong. Bellamy made his way toward them but before he could get far, words filled the otherwise silent room. "There's a grounder army surrounding us." Concern filled Bellamy, ready to be on the defensive. There was an army marching toward them, and they needed to be prepared to fight. As if that was something so damn new to them.

She felt his gaze but she didn't turn to stare back at him. Any sort of affectionate glances always made her smile and she knew now was not the time to smile. Instead, she merely held onto his hand and continued to listen to people talk about their loved ones. Faye was glad that she had Bellamy by her side. She wasn't sure if she would have been able to come to the memorial without him. Faye was strong but Clarke leaving had certainly taken a toll on her. These days, the only comfort and strength she had was found in Bellamy.
He squeezed her hand before going up to talk for Gena. She offered him a soft smile in the best form of encouragement she could give him. He would do fine. She had seen him give speeches before and Bellamy knew how to talk to people, even if he would never admit it. But she had never really seen him be vulnerable in front of a large group of people and she wasn't sure how this would go. But she listened as he spoke and she smiled, immediately proud of him for saying all of those wonderful things about Gena. Faye had known Gena as well, but not nearly as well as she had known Bellamy. His speech ended and Faye kept the smile on her face. He had pulled through. He had done what she couldn't do. Faye hadn't been able to speak for Emma, but at least someone she considered family had been there to speak for her.
Guards entered the room and everyone turned to look at them immediately. A grounder army? Faye raised her eyebrows, hoping she had not heard them correctly. The grounders had no business being over here, let alone an army. Faye quickly stood from her seat and made her way over to Bellamy who had just approached Pike and the guards. She looked over at Bellamy with a concerned expression on her face before looking back over at the guards. "They're just sitting there?" She asked. They nodded and told them that no leader had approached their gates to speak of their business.
Faye opened her mouth to speak again but Kane and Abby entered the room. There was a quick conversation between the adults and Faye could see that Pike was not pleased. She didn't blame him. She was pissed too. Not only were they surrounded by people Faye considered to be enemies, but their leaders had known about it and failed to mention it. "And you just thought, what, that we wouldn't notice the three hundred grounders outside our gates?" Faye said with a scoff. Kane was delusional if he thought this would go over fine with the rest of the arkers. It wouldn't.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy was in disbelief. How could they believe that the Grounders would protect them? They were just as likely to turn on them, as they had in Mount Weather. The first time they had followed the Commander like damn sheep, running from a fight. Blood must have blood his ass. And now? No. Bellamy did not believe they were there to protect them. He believed they were there to contain them. To keep them closed in; cornered. And the moment Lexa felt like it, being the flippant person that she was, she would turn on them. Bellamy couldn't help but also feel hurt at the fact that this was concealed from him, and Pike apparently.
A lot more happening at the summit than he would have expected. And Clarke . . . she wasn't even here. Bellamy glanced at Faye as she questioned it, her point of course a valid one. Majority of people were distrusting toward the grounders and for good reason too. "They're just as likely to turn on us, as they are to protect us," Bellamy said voicing his opinion on the matter. But it didn't seem like he had much say. Things were apparently decided . . . and this, would not go over well. Pike began to express his disagreement, the rest of the people starting to hear, rallying around him.
Bellamy turned to face them, the whispers and fear breaking out in the ground over the knowledge that they were surrounded by 300 warriors who had wanted them dead for so long. Lexa could not be trust before, the Grounders could not be trusted before . . . what made it so damn different now? Bellamy fell silent, a flying rock hitting Lincoln right in the head. It halted the conversation as Bellamy went quickly moved to diffuse the situation, but Lincoln removed himself from sight, the other guy yelling after him. Pike went to address his actions, Abby rushing out to check on Lincoln. Bellamy just gave Kane a look before turning to look at Faye. "We should talk," he said in a low voice, knowing that if there was anyone he could trust about the current situation, it was her.

Bellamy made a comment about how the grounders were just as likely to turn on them as they were to protect them. Faye had to disagree with that statement. She didn't think the grounders would protect them at all. Then again, what did they need protecting from if not the grounders? The grounders were the greatest threat to their people. Faye didn't understand how Abby and Kane didn't see it. But from the sound of everyone talking in the background, it seemed like they were in agreement with Faye and Bellamy's opinion. In that moment she realized how thankful she was for Charles Pike and that he was in agreement with them. If he rallied enough people, they could get the grounders away. They could finally stop pretending that things were fine.
Her eyebrows shot up at the sight of someone throwing a rock at Lincoln's head. It hit him with a loud thud and she immediately saw blood running down his face "What the hell!" Faye yelled at the guy who had thrown the rock. She didn't think of Lincoln as a grounder. Lincoln was one of them. Hell, his own people wanted him dead. "Really?" Faye snapped at him. "Why don't you go do that to the grounders currently sitting outside our gates? Lincoln's not the issue here!" God. People were going to piss her off before she could really do anything about it. Her eyes followed Abby as she ran out after Lincoln. As if he hadn't felt like he didn't belong before. This asshole hadn't helped.
Faye huffed in annoyance and watched as Pike went to talk to the guy about what he had done. She looked up at Bellamy and nodded her head at his suggestion. Faye didn't waste any time in leaving the room and heading back towards his room. Things had turned to chaos so quickly and she tried to wrap her mind around it. It wasn't long until they entered his room and Faye went to sit on his bed, resting her back against the wall. "I think we've got the majority on this," Faye began. "People aren't happy that Kane and Abby kept this from them. I mean . . . why omit something they think would be fine?" The fact that they had hidden it from everyone was what really pissed her off. "Question is, how do we handle this?"

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Once they were inside, in the privacy of his room, he closed the door behind him, folding his arms across his chest as his mind raced. This wasn't good. Faye spoke of how they had the majority, but it was the minority that Bellamy was worried about. Octavia for instance. And Lincoln. "Doesn't matter if we have the majority, because Dr. Griffin is still Chancellor." And they still had the authority to do whatever they wanted. Kane was calling for an election, but would they still go through with it despite the strong disagreement?
Besides, it was between Kane and Abby anyway. "Pike isn't going to take this sitting down," Bellamy stated. His knowledge of Pike indicated that. He had gotten to know the man, and saw that he had suffered at the hands of Grounders. They all had. "Can't say he's wrong for it." Bellamy found his thoughts more geared towards Pike's actions, rather than how passive Kane and Abby were being. The grounders were not their allies. How many more people had to die in order for them to realize that?

Bellamy stood in his thinking stance and Faye recognized it all too well. She could tell that he had a lot on his mind and whether or not he chose to voice his thoughts to her was up to him. But within the privacy of his room, she hoped he didn't hold back. Faye liked to believe that Bellamy knew that there was nothing he could say to make her question him because in this instance, she was probably thinking it too. "For now," she said in response to his comment about Abby being Chancellor. It was true that they had called for an election but the only downside was that both obvious candidates, Kane and Abby, were pro-grounder. Didn't they realize that pro-grounder meant that they weren't exactly pro-life for their own people? A leader was supposed to make the tough decisions but ultimately, they were supposed to put their people first. Not the people of someone else.
"I'm glad Pike isn't going to just stand by and let this happen," Faye explained. She knew it was probably best to keep things peaceful between her own people, not wanting to put Pike against Kane or Abby, but she would do it if it meant getting the grounders to leave. "By now I'm sure the rest of camp knows about the army." Leave it to the arkers to spread something like wildfire. "We need to figure out what we want to do," Faye pointed out. "A line is going to be drawn soon, Bellamy. We need to figure out which side we want to be on." Because Faye would stand by him, no matter what.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy had to admit that he too was glad that Pike wasn't just going to let this happen. At the same time, he cared for Kane. He worried about the repercussions this could have. However, protecting his people was always Bellamy's number one priority and right . . . he didn't believe that an army full of grounders surrounding them was going to do anything but endanger them. He remained in a thoughtful silence when she said that they had to figure out what they were going to do. They were indeed going to have to pick a side, and it wasn't black or white.
"The last time I trusted a Grounder . . . " They had abandoned them. They had maipulated them. Bellamy specifically referred to himself, knowing it was his mistake. "I can't afford to keep making the same mistake. The cost is too high." Peoples lives. He looked at Faye, conflict evident in his gaze. Having to decide where his allegiance lay was no easy task. "I can't trust them again." And it seemed with that, he had made his decision. "It's too risky," he continued. He moved toward Faye, sitting next to her on the bed as he turned his head to look at her. "Where do you stand, Faye?" He asked, knowing that this wasn't just about him. It was about the both of them: together.

Keeping her face straight, Faye thought about what he said. She knew that no matter what, Bellamy would always blame himself for trusting a grounder. But she didn't think it was his fault at all. Of course, those words would fall from her mouth without much meaning if spoken to him. She had told him before but she saw no point in continuing to beat it into him. If Faye couldn't convince him with her words, then she would settle for convincing him with her actions. She would stand by his side through it all, showing him that there was nothing he could do to push her away. "So we don't trust them," she confirmed with a nod of her head. Not that she had ever trusted them to begin with.
She watched as he walked over and sat down on the bed next to her. Faye's eyes found his and she listened as he spoke. She offered him a small smile before reaching out and grabbing his hand, squeezing it gently. "With you." The words were simple and were spoken without much thought. It was the truth but she had a feeling that it wouldn't be enough of an answer for him. "But you know where I stand. I don't trust them and I don't like them. I just . . . don't know what we can do." Of course, they could probably ask them to leave and if that didn't work then that would give them cause for something a little more aggressive. "Do you think talking to Pike might help?" Faye suggested.
