TRY NOT TO RUN FROM THIS FREEDOM ALWAYS HAS A PRICE TO PAY tagged: Queen Nia |
Balti was a large village just north of TonDC with a population of soldiers far greater than that of the smaller village. Constantly skirmishing with Azgeda, they were no strangers to fighting. However, this was a war. The Ice Nation was waging a fight against Polis and taking everything in its path. They had gone around the warrior village and sacked TonDC, leaving few, if any survivors there. Riders sent word, but that attack was practice. They needed to cut off any aid that Balti could have rallied before attacking the village. They didn't even have time to move their children to safety. The first attack happened at dusk and Niylah had fought alongside warriors far greater than herself. It had lasted hours and lives were lost on both sides. Pleading for a ceasefire, Niylah's father, the chief of Balti was escorted to the ice queen to negotiate. He knew that the village would fall... It could take hours, or days, but it would happen. Yet, he was slaughtered. His body returned to them by Azgeda riders that Niylah was quick to dispatch. Blood for blood.
With her father gone... the village was hers. What was left, anyway. She'd been quick to make plans. She gathered enough volunteers to escort the wounded and the children away from the village and to a cave nearby, as she knew they had to be surrounded. Then she prepared to follow her fathers footsteps-- only not quite as blindly. Negotiating peace was the only option... It would be abandoning the coalition to negotiate with the enemy, but at times difficult decisions needed to be made. Lexa Kom Trikru was weak. Perhaps not intentionally, but her actions at the mountain had all her people disturbed and anxious; ready for a revolution. Especially those like Niylah who had lost loved ones to the reaping. Queen Nia's uprising was planned at a brilliant time... Betraying the fragile coalition was not nearly as frowned upon when the child commander behaved so cowardly. She brought with her three soldiers. They weren't particularly talented scouts, but they would protect her as she made her way to the Azgeda camp. As she approached, she raised her hand and dropped her blade into the dirt.
"I'm here to negotiate the terms of a ceasefire with your leader!" she called out loudly. Her guards were flanking her, armed and ready should she be attacked. "Be it your Queen or Chief! I demand an audience!" Despite her shaking hands and her worries, her voice was firm, loud and clear. She was ready for an arrow to the chest, with armor under her heavy clothing. Though, if they decided to kill her... there would be better ways.
