.:Affiliation:. Arkadia, The Ark
.:Age:. Twenty-Nine

.:Physical Appearance:. Juliet is tall with a figure that was once rather curvy, but during her training as a cadet her soft curves became hardened and more muscular. Her long brown hair is almost always pulled back into a ponytail, as it always gets in the way of her sight. Her eyes are dark brown and framed with medium length lashes. They are narrow and almond shaped with brows that are often furrowed in thought. Her high cheekbones and narrow nose are sharp in shape with prominent bones and though her skin is free of blemishes such as pimples and sun spots, the cold from the landing in northern territories has left her with lasting frostbite scars on her hands and arms. She also has a rather prominent scar across her neck from a kill attempt by an Azgeda warrior.

.:Personality:. Juliet is a psychological phenomenon and has been since she was a child. She suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, a mental illness that once had very advanced medication regiments that simply wasn’t a possibility on the ark. Juliet had to learn how to live with the aid of anti-psychotics and antidepressants to try to get her chemical imbalances in check. She’s never been without a therapist, until she reached the ground. Medical has always been her closest ally. With support, Jules has lasted this long. On her own, she’s a shy and quiet girl with a large heart and a need to care for those around her. Her open arms and damn near inability to see the cruelty in others has left her emotionally vulnerable on her own, especially with her rough and choppy relationship with her family. Her psychologist believes that necessity for defense was what sparked her DID and what awakened what Jules calls, the others.
They have names that are never really used and personalities much different than Juliet’s. In total, Juliet’s mind is home to three separate identities, though only one is dominant enough to truly be in control. When Juliet was young, she treated this identity like a friend who came to her when she needed protection. She was called Anna, and still is, but in an effort to blend in with her surroundings and to avoid drawing unwanted attention Anna has adopted Juliet as her own identity. Her name isn’t even used—even in therapy. This identity is cold and abrasive in nature. She is closed off to the world around her and the emotions that those around her feel. She’s a defense and willing to shield her sensitive counterpart to the horrors that she’s faced and has yet to face. She has a greater good mentality and is capable of making decisions that harm even those closest to her if it means surviving. Guilt and shame are not things that deter this other from doing what Juliet needs done.
Truth be told, Juliet is rarely completely in control anymore. On the Ark, as an adult at least she felt safe and secure and with the help of her husband she was able to maintain a rather normal life. However after landing in Azgeda territory, terror has forced her to recede, giving full control to her protective, occasionally violent other. However, she doesn’t feel guilty for the violence against grounders in the name of protecting Arkadia. A universally accepted fact is that the grounders are dangerous... she’ll never fully trust them.
.:Special Skills:. Juliet is a sharpshooter, but that's not her main strength. Hand to hand combat is where she truly shines and she often helps train others in this field. She practiced mixed martial arts on the Ark and used her skills against grounders after landing in Azgeda territory. Now she teaches guards in Arkadia how to fight without ranged weapons; like their enemy. She's not often bested, but is humble in defeat.

.:Birthplace:. The Ark
.:Family:. Juliet has no children of her own, despite years of trying. Her late husband Ivan suffered with mental illness for a long while before suffering a breakdown and attacking a guard which resulted in him being floated. Since landing, Juliet has not bonded with anyone enough to call them family, though she looks up to Charles Pike.
.:Occupation:. Guard & Scavenger
.:History:. Juliet has never fit in. She's always been the black sheep among others her age, and though this never bothered her, it didn't go unnoticed. She had few friends growing up, but being the daughter of two high level security guards did nothing for her popularity. Most of her peers were children of factory workers or laborers who naturally had a distaste for guards and authority. From a young age, Juliet was taught that being liked wasn't as important as keeping others safe. Her parents were not wrong. She met her would be husband Ivan in school and though they didn't hit it off right away, the annoying socially awkward boy soon became one of Juliet's favorite people. When they were teenagers, they became engaged. They were madly and hopelessly in love. He was the only one who didn't make Juliet feel weird for her own social shortcomings. She could always be herself.
Not all was perfect though. Before the wedding bells, Juliet’s father developed a drinking problem and turned into a rather abusive figure. He would physically assault her mother frequently and yell constantly. Sometimes he would even hit Juliet... Though she had always been a little off mentally, this was the birth of Juliet’s imaginary friend and ally, Anna. It was also the beginnings of what would later be diagnosed as Dissociative Identity Disorder. When Juliet was sixteen, she lost control of her alter-identity and turned in her father to the guard. He was later floated for assault... Her mother really never forgave her for it. She even felt guilty when she came to... but in the end, he was a risk that couldn’t be taken. Her lack of memory prompted her to begin seeing therapists in medical, where numerous episodes went diagnosed as DID. With her father gone and the risk evaporated.. things went back to normal for a time.
At the age of twenty-three, she wanted to have a child. It was the normal thing to do. She'd been spending her life following her mother’s footsteps and had become a respected member of the guard; having a baby was the next step. When they got permission from The Ark, Juliet thought that the process would be rather quick, but it wasn't. For years they tried and tried, but nothing happened. When she finally did become pregnant, she lost the baby in only a matter of months. When that happened, she was quick to have medical re-insert her IUD to avoid another miscarriage. Her husband was so upset by this... Though it didn't trigger the mental issues that followed, her giving up on having a family with him did nothing to help. He started to hear things and grew very paranoid. Juliet worried that his job in the factories was getting to him-- that chemicals were messing with his mind. She was no stranger to mental instability and did her best to aid him.
Psychiatrists were able to give him sedatives within reason, and also give him a diagnosis. He was a paranoid schizophrenic, and had always been. Juliet never noticed... she knew he was strange and often irrational, but never with her. It was always with others... but as he aged, the illness took its toll and eventually drove him to violence against one of Juliet's co-workers. Though Juliet was able to stop the fight before Ivan could hurt anyone, the guard he attacked pressed charges. Sadly the council didn't have much sympathy for Ivan, as the doctor he was assigned stated that psychotic breaks would likely occur again. He was floated only days after... Juliet barely had enough time to say goodbye. She's always resented the decision, even if she's understood it. Nobody was hurt seriously, but The Ark wouldn't waste resources on a mentally unstable factory worker-- even if his wife was on the guard. If not for her therapist she probably wouldn’t have been able to cope on her own. She owed the woman her life.
When the ark was sent to the ground, Juliet was in Farm Station. She was among friends who lived close to her and people that she had known her entire life and oddly, she wasn't afraid to die. She was more afraid of surviving and finding something terrible and unexpected on the ground... it made it that much more ironic and horrid when they landed smack in the middle of hostile grounder territory. Once again, Juliet’s more protective other took over to keep her safe. She’d been terrified... so much death followed them down. She was quick to fall in line behind Charles Pike, as he knew the most about the earth and how to survive-- and survive they did. Until they found Arkadia... Ever since, she has been working as a guard. She was not stationed near mount weather when it was destroyed, but she still harbors anger towards the grounders for the attack. She was part of the team that slaughtered the grounder army outside Arkadia and she will fight for her people until the very end. She fears very little, as she has very little. A future is hard to see... but she does have a small flame of hope.
