MY RESPONSIBILITY
Just because the Grounders had made good on their deal, did not mean that Bellamy trusted them. What was their whole idelogy? Blood must have blood. It left Bellamy fearing for the residents of Mount Weather. The Mountain Men who supported the harvesting and drilling of his people were a different story. Majority of those within the facility however were citizens. Having no control or even knowledge over what was happening. Children even. Bellamy couldn't let any harm come to them. So many of them had helped him and his people, and he needed to be sure they remained safe.
Bellamy had done a sweep on one of the floors, looking for anyone who was here and therefore, might get caught in the crossfire's. When he was done with that level, he moved up to the next one. His body was pumping with adrenaline and it was perhaps the only thing that kept him going these past few days, despite the lack of food, drink, and water. He could rest when this was over; when it was all said and done. He'd never forgiven himself of harm came to the others. As he moved up the elevator to the next level, Bellamy made his way down the halls. The Groudners shouldn't be this high up, but the Arker wanted to make sure of it.
He saw a small figure in the distance, rounding the corner and ran toward it, turning it in time to see a young boy. Bellamy immediately lowered his gun at the sight. "Hey," he greeted, concern on his face. He was still clad in the uniform of a mountain man, with the exception of a hat. As Maya had said, everyone knew everyone around here so he wasn't entirely certain if the boy would recognize that he was a stranger or assume he was one of the members of the guard. "What are you doing out here?" He asked, not wanting to panic the boy but at the same time, didn't want him to be out here alone, feeling instantly protective over the child.
