With the ongoing conflict with the Skaikru, Aedan had volunteered to go patrolling with Sae and a few others for awhile. It was supposed to be a simple patrolling task and yet here they were being circled by a group of Reapers. The group that once consisted of six Grounders had dwindled down to three. The others had managed to run off when one of the Reapers’ blades dug into his forearm. He managed to get lucky that the sharp blade hadn’t cut too deeply, despite the fresh blood staining his right arm. Regardless of how many years he spent training as a warrior, it was hard to shake off the fear he felt when he stared at the five Reapers surrounding them. They were told stories of Reapers, how they had once been their people only to betray them. As far as he knew, Reapers were a lost cause. There was no helping them return to their former states. That brought up the question of what they would do them now that they were surrounded?
Considering only warriors were taught the English language, he turned his attention over to Sae warily as his hands were twitching to grasp his sword. Their companion, their junior, staring over at one of the Reapers. Maybe it wouldn’t to avoid their native language if it meant the Reapers would be too busy communicating among themselves. They seemed busy enough trying to decide which of them were to be devoured or taken by them. “We fight or we die.” Aedan spoke, eyebrows furrowing in frustration at the thought. They wouldn’t get out of this so easily. The eighteen year old had been tempted to say more but the sudden charge from the Reapers had silenced him. He was forced to step back, taking on the brunt of the attack, already having his suspicions he would be feeling it tomorrow morning. "Shof op!" One of the reapers shouted at them, earning varying responses from them. Being quiet wasn't exactly an option here.
Almost immediately, his blade was drawn and he forced himself to quickly recover his footing and return to the fight. All of his life had been spent fighting, there was no reason to turn tail and run now. Besides, even if they wanted to.. they were placing the rest of their village at risk. He couldn’t bear the thought of placing someone else in harm’s way. Despite how much strength Aedan tried to place in each attack, he couldn’t keep up with the aggressiveness that the Reapers showed. It didn’t matter how quick he tried to be either. One moment he was attacking one of them and the next he was being knocked forward into the arms of another Reaper. A sharp hiss escaped his lips at the dull pain spreading throughout his body. Even with the pain he felt, Aedan's glance had only flickered over to his companions for a moment, before his blade was knocked out of his hands he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head. He could feel himself being pulled into the tight grip of another being, forcibly taken into the possession of someone else. All moments before his consciousness flickered between the imagine of Sae and their companion still fighting to their lives before they were outnumbered and forced into the hold of the Reapers. The entire trip to the tunnels underneath Mount Weather had been spent unconscious, Aedan being down for the count.
Being harshly tossed onto the ground had stirred Aedan back into consciousness, earning an inaudible rambles from the male. His body ached and he could've sworn he was already suffering from an impending headache. Raising his head off of the ground as he forced himself into a sitting position, Aedan's head turned over to Sae noticing she was already beginning to walk up. "Sae.." He was barely reaching a hand out to stir her only to stop as he heard another set of footsteps coming towards them.
