All Alastor wanted was to have a chance to do what he wanted for once, but it didn't seem like that particular wish would be granted. His father had made it clear he was going to prepare him for the cadet school for Mount Weather's security detail. This wasn't what he wanted. No, he wanted an opportunity to venture outside Mount Weather and see the sky. Would it be as beautiful as the pictures in the books he read? He could only hope he would live to see it one day. Despite that thought, he couldn't help but wonder how he would accomplish that dream of his. No one seemed able to go outside the doors of Mount Weather, besides the ground unit of Mount Weather's security. Straightening up his posture slightly as he was seated on one of the more isolated areas in the dining room, Al's gaze briefly peered at his surroundings for a moment. He could hear a few conversations going on in the distance along with the small clatter of utensils tapping against plates. Releasing a small breath, he shut the book in his hands and forced himself to stand up. There was no point in beating around the bush. It was either reporting to Bellamy or letting the elder track him down. Considering this was the second week of their meeting, any hideouts Al previously had were discovered. Then again that had been the library for him. It was better to simply meet him half way and take it from there. Initially, Al had planned on delaying the pending meeting further but he settled on heading over to Bellamy's room fifteen minutes after the appointed meeting time. With all things considered, he didn't need his father hovering over him about his lack of appearance today. He didn't have the heart to disappoint his father. Not when he was the only family member he still had. Hopefully Bellamy wouldn't mind the tardiness, but there was no way to guarantee that. Tucking the Shakespearean book beneath his arm, he raised a closed fist to knock against the closed door before him. " I'm not too late, right?" Al questioned nervously, eyebrows furrowing at the thought. " I got a bit side tracked earlier." He explained, glancing down at the book in his possession. Who was he kidding--- that excuse wasn't going to hold. He used that excuse with his father before and it was never bought. Straightening up his posture slightly, Al's gaze flickered away from the book to peer at Bellamy. " What did my father.. say we had to do today?" He questioned uncertainly. With his father's fondness for the Mount Weather security, there was little reason to believe it wouldn't be something dealing with that again. At least he hadn't pulled some strings to place him into the cadet school beforehand. That was a relieving thought. Tag: Bellamy Blake

my people MY RESPONSIBILITY Mount Weather had become a home for Bellamy Blake. He had descended onto Earth with his father, a man killed before his eyes and then taken in by Dante . . . a man who became every meaning of the word father. He was nurturing, raising Bellamy to be the man he was today. While Bellamy's mind often wondered about his mother and sister on the Ark, he knew that here, down in this place, was his family. These were his people, and he had embraced that a long time ago. He had grown up, with an interest in serving in the guard, working toward a high ranking position within it. One unique trait that he had, was the ability to go outside the walls without a suit, because he was immune to radiation. This was used when needed, though Bellamy knew not to take it for granted. Considering most in Mount Weather had never even breathed the fresh air of the outside.
Bellamy had still not forgotten the first time he had when he landed on Earth. The unfamiliar feeling, the cool and fresh air . . . it was incredible. But that was then, and he had to focused on the now. He'd been tasked with mentoring a young boy, Alastor. His father wished him to be in the guard, and Bellamy was more than happy to give him some advice, and even start on his training. He had not failed to notice the boys . . . lack of enthusiasm. Even today with his tardiness. While he wouldn't hold it against him of course, Bellamy wanted to talk to the boy . . . to see if he truly held interest in this. He was fond of Alastor, and wanted to see the boy passionate about something. Even if it wasn't being in the guard. When a knock came at his door, Bellamy opened it, seeing Alastor clutching a book and explaining his reason for being late.
Bellamy glanced down at the book he held, a slightly raised eyebrow before making eye contact with Alastor once more. He then offered him a reassuring smile, as he closed his apartment door behind him. "Your dad wanted me to go over the history of the guard with you." The theory of it, how it was formed, what the initial duties entailed, how it advanced from the beginning, which was nearly a century ago. "But I thought we could grab something to eat first. If you haven't eaten already?" He asked, starting to make his way down the hall and ensuring Alastor followed at his side. "What book distracted you?" He asked, curious as to what Alastor was reading.

The Sky was Under any other circumstances, Alastor would have been more docile when it came to his father's desires. However, the fourteen year old was full of rebelliousness and curiosity. He wanted nothing more than to see what was outside of Mount Weather- to see the sky. As much as he searched for that image he read described in books, he knew he wanted see it anytime in the near future. Not with his dad breathing down the words of the guards every other five minutes like a mantra.
Dreams about the sky wouldn't be diminished so quickly, but they merely had to be put away for the time being. At least until he figured more about what went on outside of Mount Weather. With the book held close to him, Alastor kept quiet as he waited for Bellamy's response. While, the older man wasn't his father, the fourteen year old still found himself a bit reluctant to fully be himself in his presence. The thought of his tardiness being told to his father had been the main reason he felt the need to keep up the polite pretenses, despite the small stir of rebelliousness he felt.
With the reassuring smile on Bellamy's lips, any tension that Alastor may have shown had seemingly vanished in the next few seconds. Ironically, any excitement seemed to disappear when he heard the word history and guard combined. That would be a long conversation that he didn't want to have- but there was nothing he could. Surely, it wouldn't be too bad. Maybe there was something he could learn from it. "From the very beginning?" Alastor questioned, hesitation appearing on his facial features. "It's.. a long sto- history, isn't it?"
As the fourteen year old walked beside Bellamy, he found his gaze flickering upwards as he heard his suggestion. ".. No, I haven't eaten anything yet." Alastor answered honestly, seeing no reason to tell a lie now. Getting some food before the long lecture would be nice, especially if the talk wouldn't be over soon. Besides, even if he were reluctant to admit it, talking with Bellamy was always nice. "Huh..?" His eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion before a smile had finally settled on his lips. "Oh! It's about the Greek gods and goddess actually. Origin stories and a few other tales of their lives." He rambled briefly, "They have a few books about them in the library. I was planning on checking out the other ones later." | NOTES: Sorry about the delay!
