After the ring of fire that encircled the drop ship, Katarina had been lucky enough to be far from the blast radius during the fight. There was still a dull pain in her head as the auburn haired female tried to get up- ignoring the small chatter of voices in the distance. Dirt and blood were coating her face and clothing, some of it being her own. Releasing a strangled breath, she forced herself to rise to her feet, almost staggering downwards again. Reaching up towards her face, she could easily see the damage that had been done on her forehead. A bleeding gash on her right eyebrow and multiple cuts and bruises along her arms. She could've been in a worse state than she was now. Kat's fingers briefly ran through her disheveled hair, not bothering to fix it. The others should be somewhere nearby or in the drop ship, if she was that lucky. At the thought, she forced herself to start moving despite the desire to linger back. It wasn't until she heard familiar voices in the distance that realization had finally sunk in. " -- Wait..!" She called out lightly, eyebrows furrowing in confusion as she slowly made her way over. Mumbled curses escaped her lips before she forced herself to slow down. With one last push, the auburn haired girl stumbled forward towards her former camp. Despite her gun being bullet less, she kept it in her hands still. While the blast may have killed a few people, some of her own included, there was no guarantee whoever was at the camp now was good. With that thought in mind, she was drawing closer to the camp only to stop before it. Regardless of the other bodies moving about the camp, her attention was focused on a certain brunette holding a gun." Nina..?" Kat questioned, eyebrows furrowing in confusion. The last time she had seen her had been in the Ark. How many people traveled down to the ground? Were.. her parents here on the ground as well? Despite the temptation to speak up, Kat ignored her thoughts as she wandered closer to Nina. " Is everyone else okay?" She questioned, looking around the camp and noticing other guardsman loitering around the camp grounds. Tag: Nina Eaton

It was still hard to believe that she was on Earth. Nina had been sure that she would have died in a fiery explosion on the way down. She wasn't sure if she would have preferred that to suffocation had the Ark stayed in space. But now she was here and the only thing she had to worry about was radiation and apparently people down here that they called Grounders. But the 100 had survived thus far which meant that the radiation was low enough for them to survive, or it would just kill them slowly. But right now the important thing was finding the kids. But last time they heard from them, apparently the Grounders were ready to wage a war. What if they were too late? They hadn't been able to find them yet and Nina was worried they hadn't been quick enough. She didn't have a ton of friends, but the few that she did have were with the delinquents. Kat was down here and so was Bellamy. Both were people she cared about and she didn't even want to think about the possibility of being too late.
The atmosphere was eerie as they walked into the camp. The drop ship that had brought the kids down stood in the middle of the clearing. The sides were charred from fire and Nina didn't miss the sight of charred bones littering the ground as well. Some sort of explosion had engulfed the camp and she wondered how many of these skeletons belonged to their own kids. Nina clutched the gun tightly. She was more than thankful that she had been allowed one, even though there was no reason she wouldn't have been. As a part of the guard, Nina had been recruited by Kane to look for the delinquents. She had been more than happy to help out, not wanting to stay behind and watch everyone try to recover from their crash landing.
The sound of someone calling her name caught her attention. She knew that voice. Turning around, Nina spotted Kat. Relief flooded through her. Her friend was alive. "Kat," she breathed with a sigh of relief. She walked towards her and met her halfway. Listening to her question, Nina glanced around the camp. "Depends on who you're talking about," Nina said. "We just got here so we're not sure who is here but I don't see any kids. What happened?" Nina asked, hoping Kat could shed some light on the current condition of the camp.

The Grounder war had provided enough distraction to keep everyone's attention away from what happened the previous night. As far as Kat was concerned, the thoughts of her parents had diminished when the group was forced into battle. While a majority of their group were just children, they couldn't delay the inevitable fight any longer. Kat could remember the shouts coming from the camp, some from her own group and the rest from the Grounders. However, the blast from the drop ship had drowned out all of the noise she heard for awhile. As far as she could remember, she wasn't entirely conscious during the time of the explosion. The gash on her forehead had been a good reminder of that. Raising her hand slightly to cover her mouth, she tried to ignore the strong scent lingering in the air. It was difficult to get the smell lingering in the air out of her thoughts. The scattered bones on the charred ground wouldn't be a sight she'd forget so easily.
Fortunately for Kat, Nina's figure in the distance had calmed down any nerves that threatened to make itself known. Forcing herself to walk faster, despite the consistent desire to throw herself on the floor, she hurried over to meet her friend. It was a relief to find someone after all of this chaos. Swallowing dryly as she listened, the auburn haired girl could only nod her head in acknowledgement. She knew the reason behind this all too well. While she wanted to know more about who was here, that particular conversation could wait until later.
"There was a fight going on with the Grounders until the drop ships' rockets went off. I.. didn't see much from there. The blast kept me down for a bit." Kat explained, mulling over her memory for a moment. As much as she tried to recall each detail, she couldn't remember what happened afterwards. The rockets had went off and from there.. she drew a blank. Peering deeper into her memories wouldn't help her solve this mystery any sooner. "Everyone else should be in the drop ship, if they weren't outside when the blast happened. I don't think there were a lot of still outside when that happened." Kat stated, turning her gaze away from Nina to glance over at the drop ship. They were in there, weren't they?

Her eyes traveled to the gash on Kat's forehead. She had no idea how long it had been there, but it needed to be addressed soon. If she didn't get that cleaned out and covered then it would surely get infected, especially considering their current environment. But she decided to leave that alone for just another moment. Right now, she was concerned with finding out what happened here. Where had everyone gone? Listening to her story, Nina did her best to try to put the pieces of the puzzle together. She raised her brows at the mention of the rockets going off. Well, that had certainly been a smart idea. Nina was certainly impressed and wondered whose idea it had been. But that was an unimportant question at the moment and she knew to keep it to herself for the time being. She saw Kat look towards the drop ship and she peered over her shoulder as well. So her friend had no idea where the others were. It wasn't what she wanted to hear, but Nina was glad that Kat was okay. She didn't care if she was being selfish. Her best friend was safe and that's all she really cared about.
"Uhm," Nina began slowly. "No one is in the drop ship," she explained. "Well. Murphy and Raven were in there but they've been brought back to the Ark for medical attention." Raven had been in rough shape and Nina frowned at the memory of the girl's body lying on the drop ship floor. Sighing, Nina reached forward and pulled Kat into a hug. Nina was not an affectionate person. She didn't go around hugging everyone and she certainly wasn't a fan of PDA. But this was a moment that certainly called for a hug. Kat was safe and Nina just kept repeating that thought over and over in her head. For so long, she had wondered if her friend was still alive. Pulling away from the hug, she offered the girl a smile. "I'm glad you're safe," Nina said. "You're my family and I'm not sure what I would have done without you." Her father had perished in the crash, not that she really cared. Nina and her father had never really gotten along. Thinking of her father, Nina wondered if Kat's parents had survived. She honestly hadn't thought of trying to figure that out.

With all things considered, Kat wasn't showing any concern towards her old well-being at the moment. Despite any bleeding wounds, which there were a few, that wasn't her main concern at the moment. No, she was more concerned about where the rest of the hundred had gone. They were supposed to be in the drop ship.. why weren't they there anymore? Maybe something had gone wrong when the rockets went off. Stirring with anxiety, she forced her attention on Nina's words instead. Anything to keep her emotions steady. "It was just them in the dropship..?" Kat questioned, her eyebrows furrowing at the thought. Was it possible that they knew something about what happened? The sudden memory of what happened earlier quickly stirred the auburn haired female. "Is Raven alright?" She quickly questioned, concern leaking through in her voice. The last time she had seen the mechanic she had gotten shot awhile ago. There wasn't any time to ask about Raven between all of the fighting with the Grounders, after all.
Before another peep could escape her, Kat was pulled into a hug, startling her for a moment. Maybe it had been the fact she could have ended incinerated with the Grounders by mistake that left her feeling vulnerable. With the way they had lived their lives on the ground, there was no telling when anyone would be next. At the thought, she found herself not giving a damn about her own confusion towards their situation. Instead, Kat had settled on returning the hug quietly. Nina was her best friend. She couldn't imagine what would have happened if something had changed and stopped this meeting from happening. No, she didn't want to imagine that horrible possibility. With Nina pulling away, Kat's lips had settled in a smile as she had spotted the one on her friend's lips. It was a struggle to stop her smile from widening when she heard Nina's words. " I was afraid something had happened to you." Kat admitted, remembering all too well the scare everyone had when they heard about the Ark falling. "That means a lot to me you know. You're my family too." With everything that had gone on, it was nice to know she still had family down here. At the thought, she quickly pipped up, "Don't worry, I don't plan on going anywhere." That was a promise she intended on keeping. With the thought of Kane's guards being here, she could only wonder if they would take her back to their camp regardless of any protests."I'll help you find the others." Kat offered suddenly, having no intention on ditching her due to her weary condition.

Nina nodded her head. If Kat thought the rest of the hundred were inside the drop ship, then she certainly didn't know where they were now. Earth was a large place and while they couldn't have gone far, they still didn't know the area. "I think so," she said, answering her question about Raven. "I didn't see much but I think I heard someone say something about the bullet causing some internal bleeding or something." She didn't want to worry Kat but she also wasn't going to lie to her. Nina had never been a fan of lying but knew that down here, telling people the truth was how they had to run things. Lying in order to protect someone could ultimately result in their death.
Smiling at her friend's words, Nina let the comment sink in. It had been a while since she had heard anyone express any form of concern for her. So to hear that Kat had been concerned about her well-being, well, it made her feel loved. Nina nodded her head, happy that Kat planned on staying where she was. Nina wasn't sure she could survive losing her only friend. Let alone, her best friend. Biting the inside of her cheek, she mulled over Kat's words. It would be nice to have someone with them that knew the general layout of the area. But she had also noticed the cut on Kat's face along with some other wounds that should probably be looked at. "Maybe we should head back to the Ark," Nina said slowly. She glanced around to see Kane speaking with two of his men. It wouldn't be long until they moved on and Nina knew that she had to figure this out quickly. If they left now, they could probably catch up with Abby, Raven and whoever else had tagged along with their party. "I think you should get looked at. I don't want you passing out or anything. Let's just make sure you're okay and then we can head back out to find the others, okay?" Nina asked.

It might have been the fact that Raven's wellbeing was the last thing Kat heard before the rockets went off, her concern had spiked up tremendously. Internal bleeding.. Now that was a horrible thought. "She's already being taken care of, right?" She questioned, concern leaking through in her voice. With Kane's men here in the remains of the drop ship, it should be safe to assume Raven would be alright. For all she knew, Clarke's mother could have been on the ground as well, tending to the wounded that remained of the hundred. "No one mentioned how serious it was.." Kat trailed off, her lips pursued in a thin line. Was it the fact they were in the middle of battle that everyone felt inclined to keep quiet about Raven's wellbeing? Despite that thought, she wouldn't be able to diminish those lingering thoughts anytime soon. it was with that thought she found herself wondering about everyone else's wellbeing. Considering the crash landed, her concern was well placed. "How's everyone else doing?" Kat questioned, hoping things were in better condition in Kane's camp. Maybe there were any casualties in that area. Abandoning the remains of the hundred's former camp should have been an difficult task, but Kat found herself desperate for a change of scenery. Maybe things would change for the better in the camp Kane had set up for those that had fallen from The Ark. "How many people are there..?" Kat questioned, her eyebrows furrowing with worry. Considering how many people were on the drop ship, maybe it wouldn't be far fetched to believe that her parents were still out there somewhere. However, the auburn haired girl didn't want to consider the possibility of her parents not being in Kane's camp. Ignoring the thought, she focused on Nina's answer instead. She had no reason to argue with her judgement. She earned her trust a long time ago. Besides, her body felt awfully weary and beaten at this point, reaching the extent that she wanted to collapse onto the floor. For the sake of appearing well, Kat kept her stance still as they spoke with one another. The auburn haired girl had never been one to place her own wellbeing first, constantly putting it on the bottom of her list. She couldn't help but appreciate Nina's concern for her wellbeing. As much as she hated to admit, having her tag along unchecked wouldn't be a good decision. "Mm.. It's a good idea, you know." Kat mused lightly, chuckling softly at the thought. "As much as I hate to say it, I can't say I'm feeling the greatest right now. Nothing besides a quick check up with one of the doctors will fix that." She admitted reluctantly, deciding not to hide that fact from Nina. She was her best friend. Besides, lying to her was never an option for her. "Lead the way." Kat mused lightly, beckoning for her to step forward and show her where to go. While she might know the terrain, the auburn haired girl was clueless as to where their camp had ended up in.

As far as she knew, Raven was being taken care of. But she wasn't one hundred percent certain how well she would be taken care of. She knew with their limited supplies down here, helping her would be difficult. Nina didn't really know much about medicine or any sort of surgery, but she could only imagine how difficult it would be without the specific supplies. "She went with Abby," Nina said. It was neither a confirmation or denial about Raven being taken care of. "I didn't really get to see or talk to her, so I'm not sure." Nina had been too busy searching the area for any survivors. Besides, it wasn't like her and Raven were besties or anything. "But maybe we can see if any of the other guards know more about her?" Nina offered. She just wanted Kat to feel better and if knowing how Raven was would help make that happen, then that's what she would do.
"I'm not sure," Nina confessed. "I was on Alpha Station when we crashed, so I only know about others on that station. We haven't been able to locate Farm Station yet and I'm not sure what other stations landed. I think we lost one or two in the deployment," she explained. Nina pursed her lips and glanced around the camp at her other question. "I'm not sure." She had never been great at looking at a crowd and estimating how many were there. "But you'll get to see for yourself once we get back to camp." Readjusting her gun in her grasp, Nina smiled and squeezed Kat's arm, thankful that she had agreed to return to camp. Nina told someone where she was going and began to lead Kat through the woods and back towards camp. "Sorry I wasn't really able to answer many of your questions," she said. "I've been sort of caught up in whatever Kane wanted me to do. Been focused on finding you guys."

words: tag: Nina Eaton notes: wow. this is longer than I expected |
While Kat might not have been close friends with Raven, it didn't shake off the concern she felt. Considering someone had been shot moments before the battle, there was a lot to take in during that moment. Between the Grounders and the Reapers, there was a lot of delinquents sporting injuries. Of course, that didn't include the ones who were harmed after the blast of the rockets. Kat being one of many who barely managed to scrape by in the aftermath with various scattered cuts, fortunately. "Sorry, there was just so many things going on. I.. didn't hear about much of anything when the bombs went off." She hurriedly explained, not wanting to add anything else to Nina's plate. Besides, if Raven was with Abby, then she should be alright in the end. From what she heard from her mother, the older Griffin woman was a great doctor. There was no need to spend more time worrying, especially if her worries would only add more stress in the grand scheme of things.
There was a mixture of emotions stirring up wildly inside of Kat as tried to figure out what the emotion she should be feeling right now. Guilt, sadness, or confusion? All three emotions were affecting her far too much at the given moment. "I.. see." Kat answered, exhaling softly moments later. There was no indication of the whereabouts of her parents. Then again.. did she really want to go that route and ask about them? No, she wasn't prepared to know. Not yet at least.
"I'm glad you're safe, Nina." And she truly was. The thought of losing Nina wasn't a possibility she wanted to occur. After losing so many people down here on the ground, she didn't want to imagine how differently things would be if she lost her. After all, Nina did say they lost two stations on the way down to the ground. It wasn't until the thought registered in her head that she found herself growing more concerned. "Are you alright?" Kat questioned concerned. It wasn't until the conversation shifting over to the people in the new camp that her attention flickered elsewhere. "I wonder.. who's there." The auburn haired girl pondered aloud. Between the guards she saw here, she couldn't shake off the desire to see who had arrived on the ground as well. There were a few she could recognize here.
With the light squeeze on her arm, Kat could only offer a brief smile as she followed Nina into the through woods and down the route to the camp. "You don't have to apologize." She lightly insisted, "Besides, I didn't answer many of your questions either." Considering how little she knew of what happened after the blast, the auburn haired girl hadn't been the most helpful. "How long have you been searching?" Kat questioned concerned.

She smiled over at the girl. She was glad she was okay as well. Nina had been a little concerned about the landing, if she was being honest. She knew the Exodus ship had crashed and that had been an actual pod that was meant to land. Their ride to Earth had been a little unorthodox and Nina had overheard some of the engineers talking about the possibility of blowing up before they landed. Luckily, that hadn't been the case and she could remember the relief she had felt as they had all left the Ark. "Yeah I'm pretty glad too," she teased with a grin. "Living is kind of important to me." Although she wasn't too sure how long she would have lasted up on the Ark. Dying from suffocation or being floated didn't sound pleasant. Not that floating was supposed to sound pleasant, considering it was the punishment for all of their crimes. "I'm fine," Nina answered her friend. Some had landed with some pretty bad injuries, while others, like herself, had landed almost scratch free.
With Kat's question, she thought back to the amount of time that had passed since they had landed. Had it been a day? More? Less? Nina couldn't really remember. It all seemed fairly blurry to her when she tried to think about it. "I think we landed yesterday," she said slowly. "At any rate, once we pulled everyone from the wreckage and made sure everyone was okay, everyone started to get camp together. But Kane grabbed a group and went to look for you guys not too long after that. I think he knew that people were getting antsy, wanting to find the kids." Nina had certainly been antsy to find them, especially knowing that Kat was among them. But whatever happened to the others, she was thankful that Kat had been left behind. She didn't even want to think about the anxiety she would have felt if Kat hadn't been there.

words: tag: Nina Eaton notes: ack. sorry about the delay! |
At the teasing remark, Kat's lips were pursued in a brief smile to Nina's words. It was great to have a chance to chat with her again. With the unfamiliarity of the ground, having someone she knew was a great feeling. Not that she didn't enjoy the company of the hundred, but it was different having someone she knew personally here with her. It wasn't the same as going through a life changing experience with someone. "I can't imagine anything else more important than that." She mused lightly, ignoring the dull ache in her head. Despite the lack of wounds on Nina's body, the auburn haired woman couldn't stop herself from sweeping her gaze over the brunette briefly. The last thing she wanted was to see her hurt as well. "That's good to hear. I couldn't imagine what I would do if.." The thought wasn't one she dared to continue, instead it was promptly shaken away at the next second.
At the mention of what happened to the adults, Kat found herself tempted to ask about her own parents- but what good would it do now? The missing hundred was the priority right now. Where did everyone else go? They should have been in the dropship still, untouched by an danger. "We were planning on finding you guys, but we got a bit side tracked as you can see." Kat spoke lightly, not having any desire to remember all of the fighting that had taken place earlier. Releasing a small breath, she debated her next set of words. "Who's.. back there at your camp?" She questioned, deciding to approach the topic lightly.
Raising a hand briefly, Kat idly wiped away at the blood staining her best- though not much could be done. "We.. didn't hear much about what happened after a few of us talked with our parents last time." Then again, it had been awhile since that happened. Considering how quickly things had changed here, it wouldn't be too far fetched to believe things had changed in the Ark before the crash.
