Once Adrenaline ran out, everything that happened in Polis caught up with Clarke, sending her crashing to the ground and almost passing out. It was all a bit much. Clarke, on top of the AI and the blood and seizures, had not been taking care of herself in such a long time. Her body couldn't take that forever, it seemed. Not even bothering to focus on whoever rushed to her, Clarke realized they took care of her. After a while, they picked her up and put her onto something flat. It almost felt like a stretcher. Maybe it was one. The decline, given that they basically destroyed transportation in the tower, was hard and bumpy, the terrain with the rover was no less so. Eventually she didn't remember anything anymore.
Until she was jostled again. By the change in light, Clarke suspected she was taken out of the rover. She looked around, this time focussing. Arkadia. After such a long time she didn't think she'd ever see it like that, from the inside and not as intruder. It seemed like times were changing. And then she saw someone. Monty! The information Alie gave her, Monty needed it. If someone, after sinclairs death, could find a solution it was Monty and Raven. She couldn't see Raven anywhere around, so Clarke lifted her hand as if to reach out for her friend. "Monty." She tried to call out. Even the attempt to sit up was impossible for her. Her body would not respond.

Monty had wandered outside when he’d heard the approach of a rover and watched as, one by one, his friends walked back through Arkadia’s gates. There were others too, the arkers who’d been chipped were returning home. Maybe it was foolish to hope for things to get better, but Alie had been defeated, lives had been lost but now Monty hoped that things could start returning to ‘normal’ and people would have time to heal. He’d had a chance to clean and bandage his own injury, the screwdriver hadn’t seemed to cause him any lasting damage and the pain wasn’t as bad as it had been, it was bearable. Everyone could now take the time to heal, if the world let them, from what he’d seen so far, Monty wasn’t confident that they’d have much of a break before something new happened that threw them into a new sense of panic.
Then he noticed a couple of people carry a stretcher from the rover, he didn’t think much of it at first. There was bound to be some injured among their people, he wasn’t a doctor and so he didn’t think he could help, he’d leave that to those who actually knew medicine. However, his attention was drawn back to the stretcher when movement caught his eye and a weak voice reached his ears, calling his name. He turned back to the stretcher and finally saw who lay upon it “Clarke?” he questioned, immediately walking over to the stretcher that held his friend “What happened to you?” a flash of concern crossed his face as he tried to figure out what was wrong with the girl. This was definitely the weakest that he’d ever seen her, even when she’d become sick with the illness that the grounders had once sent to their camp, she’d seemed to have more strength than she did at that moment. He was aware that she’d entered the city of light somehow, Raven had seen her. He wondered if that was what had made her so weak, he hesitated briefly before slipping his hand into hers, it was an action that was meant to reassure both himself and her. He needed to know that she wasn’t going to pass out on him, he wouldn’t cross it out yet, she couldn’t even sit up on her own.Clarke Griffin

It was such a simple gesture, a hand in hers, holding it without even the slightest hint of hesitation. It was as if nothing happened, as if she was never gone and Monty, the loyal friend just held the hand of a friend, ready to be a support in such a simple and beautiful way. Clarke was truly amazed by Monty being just Monty. This young man was an amazingly kind person, she could hardly put it into the right words. She squeezed his hand gently.
“The city of light.” She explained gently. Though it was not the city. It was more complicated. If there was anyone who could understand what she tried to explain, it would probably be Monty or Raven. They were so very tech-savy. They would understand. “I got a blood transfusion to take the other AI. My body didn’t take too kindly to it.” She didn’t know if it downright rejected parts of the treatment for whatever reason. Or maybe it was just generally too much for her. She didn’t know or care “What happened on your end? Are you all okay?” Did they all survive? Even though she knew the center of it all was in Pulis, Clarke no longer believed it was only there. Too much has happened that suggested something else entirely.

Monty didn't quite understand at first when Clarke explained what had happened to her. She said that she'd needed a blood transfusion so that her body would accept the AI and he assumed that this had something to do with what she'd said about only nightbloods being able to be implanted with the AI and surviving. He wasn't a doctor, but even he thought that, that plan didn't sound particularly safe and it turned out that it wasn't safe. "You could have been killed" he hissed at her although he was fairly sure that she wouldn't have gone through with it if there was another way to bring down ALIE. He'd seen too many of his friends die since coming to the ground and he didn't want to lose anyone else.
"Jasper was chipped, but we managed to restrain him before he could do too much damage" he said in reply to her question "apart from a few minor scrapes and bruises, we're all fine" they were alive and Monty's main concern was her. The group that had gone to Polis all looked pretty beaten up and he knew that they'd probably had to deal with a lot more than the rest of them who'd stayed behind at Arkadia. "I'll tell you more about it later, you look terrible... Maybe some rest will do you good" he tried to flash her a smile but it refused to stay on his face for long.

"It was a risk I was willing to take. You should know by now that I would die for..." And she did. She paid with it for her health, but she hoped she would get healthy again. Nothing spoke against it, unless there were other effects to the black blood she should recover with time as her body got rid of the wrong blood and replaced it with her own again. She wouldn't remain this weak forever. Depending on how bad the effects of the blood were, though, she would probably remain like that for quite some time. And that sucked a lot.
"Jasper was chipped? When?" Had he been chipped the entire time? So he was the leak? He was the reason why they were caught, why their plan was out in the open before they could even enter Polis. He was the reason why none of it worked and why they almost lost an ally, almost saying that he was still alive, but barely. Then again he had been through so much. She couldn't blame him for wanting an escape and she wouldn't. "Thanks." She chuckled as he told her she looked terrible. She knew that. "I will rest, but... I don't want to sleep... I have nightmares. Bad ones."

He knew that Clarke would die for them, she'd demonstrated her willingness to do so on more than one occasion. That didn't mean that she had to take unnecessary risks, he knew that her death would hurt a lot of people, admittedly even himself because despite not being on good terms with her and despite her abandoning himself and Bellamy after Mount Weather, she was still his friend. "Maybe you should stop trying to die for us and think about what would happen if you died" he told her "people care about you Clarke, they've lost too much, they don't need to lose you too" she'd done a lot of things to upset people and some people believe that she couldn't be forgiven for what she'd done, but Jasper had forgiven him and if they could mend their friendship then there was hope for Clarke to mend some of the relationships that she'd once had.
"Yeah, he was chipped" Monty confirmed "I don't know when, I think it was when you guys were with Luna" he told her, he'd spent time thinking it over and matching it up to what Jasper had said to him while chipped. "He tried to shut things down here" he knew that the real Jasper would never hurt them, not intentionally but it had been scary to see his friend acting in such a way, willing to kill them to get what he wanted. When Clarke told him that she got nightmares and didn't want to sleep, Monty stared at her, understanding in his gaze. He had dealt with nightmares too, of Mount Weather and grounders, but they'd subsided after a while. He didn't doubt that after everything that had happened, they'd come back now. "Do you want me to stay with you?" he asked, knowing that to heal, she would need to rest and if his presence helped her to do that then he'd be more than willing to stay with her. Maybe they'd even get a chance to talk this way, they'd never really had a chance before.

“I’m not trying to die.” But it was the only way she saw. She knew she was replacable. She was just one of many who could do what she could do. And she honestly doubted people cared about her now. Not after everything. There were some improvements with some people she deeply cared for, but they were slow. She left. Bellamy had been right. And that damaged things. At least she had had the chance to tell him about everything, to talk to him. Maybe they could fix things, even though part of her doubted it. But then again this was Monty. Monty was understanding and he made an effort for his friends, to understand them and be there for them no matter what. Which was why she managed to use him. Now she felt sick again.
“Would you?” She asked him again. But she nodded. “I would love that.” She didn’t want to be alone anymore. She wanted to fix things. For them, for her, for all of them. But she would need help with that and help was not easy to come by. “I have black blood inside me. Pretty disgusting.” It sounded like that. On top it was the blood of a dead person. “It’s not over, Monty.”
