Everything I do is for Azgeda
SHE'S GOING TO CATCH A COLD
The deal was proposterous. But alas, what other choice was there. The other clan leaders would not support Nia. Not yet. In fact, they seemed all too relieved to have a Heda who wished to unite them. But Nia . . . was furious. The war with Trikru would be brought to an end, which meant she could not further her lands. Her power. War was necessary. But according to Lexa, peace was more important.
Pathetic. Nia would ensure it did not last. But for the time being, she had to accept the deal. They had to be part of the coalition. For Azgeda. Otherwise, she could lose everyone. She had to be smart, and she knew when it was time to strike. Right now, she had not even shown all her plays. Ontari was a big done. The timing on her reveal had to be just perfect.
At the moment, she was making her way to the council room where she had summoned her son to await her. She consulted with no one in taking this deal. Not even the prince. It would not be forever, but right now, it was necessary. When the doors opened she stepped inside, closing them behind her.
"Leave us," she ordered to the guards, as they exited the room to leave the mother with her son. "The Commander has acted in weakness, allowing personal feelings to interfere with her rule." Nia had killed many people but apparently, just because she'd killed her lover . . . she was angry. Emotion, love, it was all weakness. One that Nia would not subjugate herself to.

Azgeda, the clans, they all had seen war and devastation, chaos and pain. While Azgeda held good cards, he was no fool to figure that eventually it had to end. Eventually one side had to fall. So Roan watched. Soon enough an unlikely victor seemed to come out of it. But order? He doubted it. Not with the history of Azgeda. Not with everything they had come from. The fight might be about to put to rest, but it had not ended. Two people were too alive for that to be the case. But his heart and mind very loyal to what he had been raised to be, to be loyal to: Azgeda. He was born and raised to serve Azgeda and Azgeda only, resulting in wanting Heda dead, no matter if he agreed to her methods or motives. They mattered little to his loyalty.
The prince waited for his mother, figuring even though everything looked like this fight was over, she had a plan. He could not remember a time where his mother had failed to come up with one that could benefit their people in the long run. He didn’t speak to the guards while he waited, but raised an eyebrow as his mother asked them to leave. That was new. Usually most that was discussed between them could be discussed in front of the loyal guards. And so he turned to her, listening to what she said. Feelings, weakness. So this woman they had to behead truly held the commanders heart. A foolish thing for Lexa to allow. Love in her position was too dangerous. “Like father.” He pointed out. Or that was what he had been told once back in the day. “And yet the clans seem to stand behind the girl. You have a plan, mother. You would not have summoned me if you didn’t.”
