we do not have to be enemies
Marcus looked around the city as he road in, on the horse that they had been given. The north was colder then e thought, but he kept his back straight, and wasn't here to show cowardice. The city was massive, and the sight of so much of a civilization, left him in awe. He dismounted, and looked over at the sights of commerce and trade evidence mist the city. He looked around once more, before he was taken into the largest building, and the warmth from the fires eased the chill.
Marcus loved how the grounders had not only survived but thrived. If his people were going to do the same, they needed peace. Right now, he knew they needed to work with each clan to assure them they were not here to cause trouble. That peace was the best choice for them all. Peace would be what helped everyone surprise the coming months, without causalities on either side.
Once he was shown into the a large room, he noticed there was a throne, and woman sitting there. Marcus was surprised that the leader wasn't someone young, since that was how Lexa was, but he also was grateful. Perhaps she would be wiser in her choices. "Queen Nia," he said, with a bow of his head in respect to her status, "I was admiring your city on the way. It's the biggest I have ever seen, and looks to be filled with things that I have only read about, where I am from." He was impressed, and he wasn't afraid to admit that. Marcus didn't see that as a weakness, but politics. You always complemented the host of the place you were in.

Everything I do is for Azgeda
SHE'S GOING TO CATCH A COLD
Skaikru. Truth be told, Nia did not have an issue with them. They were more Trikru's problem. From what she had heard, it was quite pitiful. Her spies had informed her that they were not but a small group of children. Yet managed to destroy how many warriors, over 300 from what her informants told her. Pathetic. But alas, that was the difference between Azgeda and Trikru. Her warriors were strong. They could wipe them out in the blink of an eye. But that was not her current priority. It gave her nothing in return. She was curious to see what they could offer her. Her issue was with the Commander. Not Skaikru.
Word came that the ambassador, apparently their highly regarded leader, had arrived. Nia was unmoved. She remained on her throne and watched him come in. He bowed his head but not his body. She had killed people for less. But decided that Skaikru was naive. They would soon learn otherwise. She drummed her fingers on the handle of her throne where her hand casually rested. She started at the man while he offered words of praise for Azgeda.
Smart. Any insult would have cost him his tongue. "Well clearly your books--" The word said with disdain. "Can not capture the true glory of Azgeda." She was arrogant when it came to her nation. She had worked hard for it. "Only your experience here can do that." She stared at him for a few more moments, her eyes moving over him as to take in what she could of his deamanour. "How many accompanied you?" She had an idea but not a solid number, and wanted to know. FROM THE ICE INSIDE HER SOUL

we do not have to be enemies
"Well clearly your books can not capture the true glory of Azgeda." Clearly she didn't enjoy reading. Marcus took in how her fingers drummed on the throne she sat at, and he could tell he would have to watch his words well with her. She would not take an insult--even ones he didn't mean to make--well. "Only your experience here can do that." Very true. They never could have imagined THIS when the looked down on the Earth. He had thought it barren of life, but how wrong he was! Marcus was thrilled to find out he was wrong, and he loved seeing the world, and other places. It energized and awoken him! He wanted peace between the nations, so that he could learn from them, and they could all thrive together.
"I agree. No book could ever have prepared me for the fascinating land you have here. When I first heard of Azgeda, it was spoken with a relevance--" and a lot of fear and hate "--and I found myself curious of the people who had such a presence." He looked around the large room, one that was far larger then any single room on the Ark, before looking back at the Queen, with a small grin, "I find myself not unimpressed." He was very impressed.
"How many accompanied you?" He wanted to know who was in her lands. Wise. He had no reason to lie. "I only came with a small group of eight, myself among them. We left our guns at your border, as they were only there to protect us from animal threats." They had left the other weapons until forced to remove them. Marcus wanted to be clear about why he was here. "I am very grateful to be here. My people are new to the Earth, and your people have long mastered the way of life here. There is much we can learn from you. I hope that we are able to come to some form of peace." And that the cost would not be high.
