whatever THE HELL WE WANT So close. Bellamy had been so damn close to bringing Clarke home. To bringing her to safety. If something happened to her, he'd never forgive himself for being as close as he had been . . . and failing. Monty had been the only voice of reason that was able to get through the otherwise stubborn Bellamy Blake. It was what brought him to where he currently was right on: in medical, lying on a bed. It was late at night, most others were resting but Bellamy was wide awake. He was feeling too restless. It wasn't even the pain of his injury that kept him this alert. It was the pain of his failure. However she had betrayed them, or left them . . . he couldn't let anything happen to her.
How could he just lie idly like this while she was out there, captured by the damn Grounder who had her. The thought panicked him. He took a deep breath and moved one leg at a time over the bed he was resting in. Stay overnight in medical my ass he thought to himself. This was the perfect time to slip way. Neither Abby nor Jackson were in here, and Gena wasn't either. He could just as easily slip out. But . . . that was easier said than done. For the second he tried to put any weight on his foot, his face twisted, cringing from the sudden onslaught of pain.
Cursing in his mind, Bellamy faced the bed, gripping the edge of it as he put more weight onto his good leg rather than the bandaged out. His hand hit the bed in frustration, the sound hardly heard due to the fact that he punched the soft bedding. But it was for the better; last thing he wanted was to bring any attention to himself. Approaching footsteps caused him to turn his head, knowing that he was either going to get busted for being out of bed or maybe get the help of whoever was entering to get him the hell out of here. He couldn't do nothing. He couldn't be idle when so much was at stake. When Clarke's life was at stake.

Monty hadn't really planned on walking around Arkadia so late at night, if he was honest he had a lot on his mind and it just sort of happened. He'd just found out that his mother was alive... And his father was not. He'd had a lot of time to mentally prepare himself for his parents deaths, he hadn't even expected to see them ever again, but it had still been a blow to hear it out loud and then they'd got a new lead on Clarke, they'd been searching for her for months, ever since she'd left them after Mount Weather and when they'd finally tracked her down she'd been taken by a grounder who seemed pretty hostile if you looked at what he'd done to Bellamy's leg. Bellamy had taken it pretty hard when he'd failed to bring her home, he'd even continued to follow her when he only had one good leg and was bleeding heavily from the other.
Without even thinking about where he was going Monty walked the familiar halls of Arkadia, not making any conscious decisions about where he was going. He stopped suddenly when a noise dragged him from his thoughts and he looked around to see that he was near medical, he didn't go there often, he'd had no reason to go but he didn't couldn't ignore the sounds that he'd heard. What if somebody needed something, sick and injured people needed things, didn't they? He didn't know, he was no doctor but he assumed they needed stuff. Changing direction, he walked slowly down the hall to medical, stopping in the doorway to look around the room. What he saw made him roll his eyes "Of course it would be you" he called across the room to the man that was trying to leave his bed.
He should've expected it to be Bellamy, of course he wasn't going to sit still when Clarke could be in danger "you should get back into bed before you make your leg worse" Monty told him as he walked across the room and stopped next to him, putting a hand on his arm as he nodded towards the bed, he didn't expect the man to listen to him, he never listened about these things. He needed to rest if he wanted his leg to heal but that didn't mean that he was going to "don't make me go get Abby" he'd barely managed to persuade Bellamy to come back to Arkadia with them when they'd found him and he was not afraid to go get back up if he needed it, Bellamy could barely walk, he wouldn't get far before Monty brought someone to get him back into bed.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Son of a bitch, it was Monty. This could either work in Bellamy's favor, or against it. He could get the help of his friend, but at the same time . . . knew that the younger male would not approve of Bellamy's attempt to get out of bed. Words proven as he told him that he should be in bed, not making his leg worse. The hand on his arm was a comfort, as Monty's presence often was, but this time . . . he couldn't allow himself any peace or rest. And then came the threat of him getting Abby. Damn it. Bellamy could only hope that it was her Chancellor duties that kept her away from medical and that she had better things to do than tell him to stay in bed.
But . . . he also believed that Monty would go get her, which would inevitably involve Kane too. So the guardsman decided to get right to the point. "Nothing's being done," he said, irritation in his voice, not moving from his strained position of standing. Only now, he was turned to face Monty. "Clarke is still out there, still with that Grounder, and no one is doing a damn thing about it." No search party, no one was out there looking. Bellamy meant what he had said; they couldn't lose her. "We need to look for her Monty. The longer we wait, the more danger she's in. And if we're too late . . . " His voice trailed off, gaze averting to the ground, jaw clenched as he thought about it. He closed his eyes for a moment, biting back the fear of losing her more than the pain of his leg in this moment. Slowly, he opened his eyes, trying to remain composed. "We need to find her," he repeated, his eyes pleading to his friend.

Monty could understand Bellamy's frustration, they hadn't seen Clarke in months and then to finally see her and have the opportunity to bring her home only to have to watch her being dragged off by a grounder. Still, he didn't understand what he hoped to accomplish, the guy could barely walk and he thought he could track down Clarke and her grounder captive and then rescue her from the grounder whilst he was suffering from the pain in his leg. "We can't do anything until morning anyway! It's dark out and grounders aren't the only thing we have to worry about out there!" he didn't think that the Chancellor would be too keen to send guards out of Arkadia in the middle of the night, even if it was to search for her daughter. "Don't you think that if it was possible, Abby would have every able bodied person in Arkadia out there looking for Clarke?" he demanded, Clarke was her daughter, if anyone wanted to find her then surely it was the Chancellor but there were other things to think about, complications, it was too dangerous to just go charging out there ready to rescue Clarke when a grounder clan was involved.
"You can barely walk Bellamy, how do you expect to help Clarke when you can't even stand on your own!?" Monty tried to keep his voice down so as to not be heard by anyone who might be passing by, but there was a clear note of urgency in his hushed whispers. "In the morning I'll make sure that they send out a search party for Clarke but until then there's really nothing we can do, I'm sorry" the apology was sincere, he genuinely was sorry that they'd failed to bring Clarke home, he was sorry that she was in danger again and that Bellamy had gotten hurt and he was now preventing him from going after her, but he couldn't allow him to risk his life. If they couldn't save Clarke, if they were too late then he couldn't lose two friends instead of one. He gave Bellamy a gentle push as if trying to subtly coax him back into bed, he could see how desperate Bellamy was in this moment to find Clarke, but he simply couldn't allow him to go out there in his current state. Even if he wasn't injured and was perfectly capable of surviving out there, Monty would have doubts, grounders weren't reasonable people, they'd already seen that and Monty wasn't about to lose another friend. "We'll find her, I promise" giving Bellamy's arm a comforting squeeze, his eyes flickered down to the bed, silently willing him to just listen for once "we won't lose her" .
