THE HELL WE WANT
As Chancellor, one of Bellamy's first priorities was to stop the killing. Put an end to this damn war. Or at least, put it on hold. His trust for the grounders was practically non existant. But it was the only way to make it stop; to save his people. They were all still recovering from recent events and the last thing they needed was another war. Grounders had the numbers and could just keep sending army after army. Bellamy didn't want to bury any more of his people. This had to come to a stop. Now. Which is why he worked to achieve peace with one of the most ruthless clans. Azgeda. They were the biggest threat right now; hell it seeemed like even Lexa couldn't control them. But Bellamy had to try. Fortunately, he was still breathing.
They had been in peace talks for a few days now and as far as he could tell, things were going somewhat smoothly. If no blood was drawn, no one died, and no threats were made . . . then yes, that could be considered smooth going peace talks with Grounders. Right now he was with Nia and the few other officials, along with a few of his own people. "I have a proposal for you in order to solidify the alliance between our people. We need something stronger than just your word." Ironic. That they were the ones who didn't trust them. "And what would that be?" Nia raised her chin a little. "The bond of marriage." A few whispers broke out in the crowd, but Bellamy's face remained unchanged. "Who do you suggest?" Bellamy of course was assuming that she was referring to either him or one of his people.
But he wasn't committing to it either way. "My son, Roan." The prince of Azgeda who was technically still banished. Bellamy slightly raised an eyebrow, curious -- and almost nervous -- as to where this was going, but he remaiend stoic as always. "And you." With that, Nia pointed past Bellamy, through the crowd and the few Arkers that had joined him in the room. Bellamy turned his head to follow Nia's trail of where she was pointing. And it was very clearly obvious as to who she was pointing to. It was enough to make Bellamy's heart beat a little heavier in his chest, clenching his jaw as he looked at Octavia. Without even needing to consider this, he turned his head back toward Nia, looking at her with a serious expression that show absolutely no chance of changing his mind. And responded with one simple word. "No."
