Octavia Meets Klara

Octavia walked through the city, and kept her eyes forward. There had been no sign of Lincoln or word from her brother yet. It worried her. Thankfully she had something to focus on right now. Her training. She was going to be a warrior. She was supposed to be training under Indira, but she told her there was a missing young one and they were splitting into groups to be able to help find them before the mountain men did. A part of O wanted to find the mountain men more then the kid, but she knew the importance of making sure no one more people went into that place, that could not get back out.

She walked up to the group of Trikru that were deciding where to look and waited until they finished. There were a few warriors and a few seconds here to help look. O wasn't sure which one was going with her, but she knew what her job was--to protect. Whomever was going with her wasn't a warrior, but a care taker. That didn't mean they wouldn't be able to fight, it just meant that O had to be ready for whatever was about to happen.

Klara was taking care of the younger orphans when Aïsha ran in and told her that one of the children had disappeared. When she said that Klara asked her if she had searched him in the village but when Aïsha told her that she had already done the turn of TonDC with other orphans to search the kid, Klara got really worry so she decided to warn the village leader so they could search for the little boy who disappeared. If the threat of the mountain wasn't here, she will have waited longer before warning everybody but lately the threat had getting more real then ever.

Klara was happy to see that many people were ready to help searching for the boy. There were warriors and their seconds, scouts, even some farmers. After giving a quick description of the child, he was a small Brown 5-years-old boy named Ethan, she looked people making research teams and starting to go away as soon as the teams were made. When she saw the Skaikru girl who was also Indra second, alone so she came to her and said "Hey, I'm Klara. Can I go searching with you?" she needed to search the boy and she couldn't go alone so why not this girl.

O heard a voice, and she looked over toward it. It was a grounder who was offering to so with her. Octavia really wanted to be accepted with the people, and while she wouldn't show it, was grateful that someone offered to go with her, so she didn't have to be stuck with the last one who wasn't picked. "Yeah, I am Octavia. I'm ready to move out." If a kid was lost, they needed to find them quickly, so all O really needed was her sword. She loved her sword. She had gotten it when they were fighting the grounders, but now she was using it to fight with them

For O, she loved the grounder culture. They had been the scariest things she had ever seen, and becoming one of them--learning to stand on her own feet and not just survive but live--was the most self-empowering thing she had ever done. "Which way should we go first?" With the mountain men out there, and knowing that if the men got a hold of grounders the grounders were never seen from again; made her want to be the one to find them. To use that to get respect from them, and prove she was capable.

As the Skaikru girl accepted to go with her and added that she was ready to move out, Klara smiled at her pleasently surprised by the involvement and the motivation of the girl. She was glad to see that Octavia seemed determinated to help finding the missing little boy while she didn't know him, nobody knew him actually because nobody cared about the orphans, nobody except Klara. But seeing that this girl who wasn't even from Trikru really wanted to help made Klara feel that Octavia was special. "Okay, then let's go!" Klara said to Octavia putting her bag containing some medical stuffs on her back.

Klara was intrigued about the Skaikru culture, she had always been interested in their language, that's why she learned it very quickly but she would love to know more about them but for now she had to focus on finding Ethan. As Octavia asked her where they should go first, Klara took a moment to think about it. "I don't know... He is only 5 years old... I guess something attracted him away from the village... Maybe he saw a butterfly and ran after it... He loves butterflies." Klara was aware she didn't really answer to her companion's question but she couldn't. She felt very bad, she was supposed to take care of the orphans but right now one of them had disappeared and she had no ideas where he could be, she just hoped he was okay.

Klara didn't really answer O's question, but her insight did help. When they first landed, Octavia might as well as been an five year old. Everything had made her feel a sense of awe, and was like magic. She too had wondered away from camp while distracted by a butterfly. She had not gotten lost, thank to Atom following her, but she could try to use that to better help her decide which way to go. Try and think back to how she was then, to see if it helped her find the kid.

Not wanting to admit that to a grounder, O nodded. "Is there any place nearby that the butterflies might be? Maybe it was flying back there, and it could be a start?" Being she didn't know the way to anything around here, O would have to let Klara guide them, while she was the protector. "If not then we can try some place else afterwards." No one would give up while there was a kid out there.

Klara was so mad at herself, she was trying to think like Ethan had probably thought, she knew him better than anyone else but she couldn't say where he was gone or why he left. All she could do was assumptions and she wished that the butterflies one was the good one. And if it was the case, Klara won't totally blame the little boy, a butterfly was such a beautiful creature, everybody had followed one of them when they were kid, even Klara had done it but there already were nobody to worry for her when she did it, her parents were already gone for a while.

Klara was already trying to think about the places where you could find butterflies when Octavia asked her about it but while Klara was usually able to locate places really quickly, her concern slowed her thinking, she had difficulty concentrating. After a while that seemed to have lasted an eternity, Klara finally located a place. "There's this place in the forest, a little glade where there is a very large tree... The butterflies live there." she said happy to finally have an answer for Octavia. "This way!" she added beckoning to the girl as she was already walking quickly in the woods direction.

Klara explained that there was a tree where butterflies lived, and hurried off to lead the way. Octavia followed her, running to keep up. Running was something she picked up later in her life, as the first 16 years hadn't allowed a lot of running. Though not may of the Ark delwers had had the chance to run either. It had always felt good to run, and to go somewhere. Seeing new things was one of O's favorite parts of being on Earth. Even if they could go back--she never would.

There was too much she loved about the Earth! As they got closer, O could see the glow of the butterflies, as they were coating the trees in the little glean. The Earth amazed her, and the butterflies brought back that wonderious feeling that she had felt the first time she had saw them. Warriors of the Trikru clan might not stop and stare at butterflies in wonder but she couldn't help but to slow her step and look around at them. "Wow," she muttered, forgetting for a few seconds that she was here to look for a missing child. Octavia looked around but didn't see any signs that someone else was here. Would be hide? That would be a question that only Klara would answer. "Do you see him?"

As Klara was running as fast as she could in the forest, she was hoping Ethan had followed a butterfly to the glean as she thought because if it wasn't the case, she would be desperate and she would have to go back to TonDC waiting for the other groups wishing they would come back with the little boy. Speaking of groups, Klara was such in a hurry that she hadn't noticed Octavia was barely managing to follow her so she slowed down a bit so the girl could catch her up. Klara didn't blame her at all for that, she knew the Skaikru girl didn't do that because she didn't want to help, plus her job was to constantly be on guard so she needed not to rush too much.

As they got closer, Klara began to look very carefully around her, searching for any signs from the little orphan. When they finally arrived in the little glean, Klara looked for the huge glowing tree for a second and as she heard her companion's "Wow", she understood the latter one did the same. This tree and its butterflies were wonderful, it wasn't the first time she came there but this place still felt amazing every time she arrived. But they weren't here to enjoy the beauty of the glean. Klara looked around but the boy didn't seemed to be here... When Octavia asked her if she saw him, Klara answered "No... But he can't be far..." before calling "Ethan!" hoping he will answer.
