whatever THE HELL WE WANT He slightly smirked when she said objected to his teasing comment, and pointed out that he couldn't carry her the entire time even if he wanted to. "Hopefully it won't come to that. But if it does, I can do it," he assured her. They could rest when need be, but if it became too much for her to walk, then he was ready with a back up . . . which was carrying her.
"I think one of our beds sounds way better," he decided, taking a bite of the food she had given him. Now that they had established this new dynamic in their relationship, he wanted to explore that. He wanted to lay next to her, and hold her throughout the night. Though he supposed they still hadn't figured out whether they were going to tell people or just keep this to themselves. "We'll also have access to supplies to better treat your injury if need be." The seaweed did the trick for now, but at least they would be in their camp where they had more medical supplies. She would have a better idea of that though.

He was right. Even though they only had a few supplies in the camp, they’d be so much better to deal with the injury than what they had now. Though he might have to still go out hunting again with the others. They needed food and Bellamy was one of the best equipped to provide them. Finn could track, but the hunting itself? Not his strong suit. Neither was being honest, it would appear. As she swallowed the last of the food, Clarke carefully struggled to pull herself up, using the wall for support. Once fully standing she let go of the wall, finding her hip to still not support her full weight.
“I’m going to need help, Bellamy. I can’t walk without support.” So either he’d support her, which would slow them down, like carrying her would, or they would take another break to fashion makeshift crutches for her. Either way, she would not be able to walk back to the camp all by herself. “Imagine we would have actually split up.” She would have been doomed. The Grounders would have gotten to her. She shivered at that. But there was no point in thinking about that yet. “Come on, let’s get going, Bell.”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT When he saw her begin to move, he immediately reacted, standing on his feet and hovering close should she require the support. Though he could easily see it; she couldn't walk on it. Not that she should even if she was able to. The less pressure she put on the wound, the better. He didn't have to be a doctor to know at least that much. He moved her arm around his neck for the additional support, his hand wrapped around her waist, encouraging her to lean her weight onto him. "Splitting up was never an option," he told her plainly. Leaving her somewhere, even if it was in the hopes of diverting the Grounders, was not an option.
She was wounded, and it was too dangerous. The thought did not even cross Bellamy's mind. They may have to move slowly, but that didn't matter. He would not abandon her. "We're getting back to the camp, together." No matter what it took. Adjusting the strap of their pack and the now useless gun, he began to slowly move toward the opening of the cave to step out of their shelter. "Would it help if we make some sort fo crutches for you to use?" He asked. "I don't want you to put too much pressure on the wound Clarke. What's best right now?" He would carry her, make her crutches, walk like this . . . whatever she thought was best, he would follow her lead with.

“It might. I’m not sure.” She could imagine a few solutions for that, but none that could be fashioned as fast as they needed it to be fashioned, so it was out of the question. They could make her crutches and the option was good, but the best solution was still, well, leaning and relying onto Bellamy. She could. She could trust him, with her body and her soul and especially her heart. “We’ll go like this, with me leaning on you. Unlike crutches, you adjust to the terrain, so it should be the best solution. You’re the perfect crutches for me right now.” Even if it would force him to be as slow as she was.
Clarke moved to him, trying to adjust her hold on him so that she could walk with him, but it was soon quite clear that it was not possible. “Okay, I was wrong. We need crutches. You’re just too tall you freaking giant!” Technically she was too short, she presumed, but that was only half the fun of accusing him of being too tall. Clarke still hobbled to the entrance of the cave to look around. There were sticks all around. “If we try to make that work, we will need a few smaller sticks and one I can use as crutch."

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She suggested that they try to move like this, with her using him as support and a makeshift crutch. He had his arm ready, wrapping around her to keep her braced, having to hunch down a little to meet her lower height but it was too difficult. The angle was awkward and she quickly vocalized what he had been thinking. Well, at least the part that suggested the significant height different. "I'll just shrink a few inches then," he joked in return, as she moved toward the cave opening. They were going to need smaller, but sturdy sticks that could serve as crutches.
He began to look around, trying to find out that could meet her height, but also be thick enough to be durable and hold the necessary weight. There were a few lower hung tree branches that could work. Bellamy made his way over to them, climbing up a little bit on the trunk so that he could break off the branch easier. Pulling at it, it soon came off and he tossed it to the ground before doing the same to the other.
They didn't have time to find the perfect stick; this was just a lot quicker. One he tore off the other, he threw it to the ground and then jumped down, brushing his hands against his pants as he picked up the two branches and held them vertically next to her to check the height. "These just might work. Try them," he urged, passing her one of them at a time. "Should we tie a stick around your leg to brace it?" He asked, wondering if it would help limit the movement and thus, allow her to move easier.

Clarke watched fondly as he began looking for the perfect stick to work as crutches. With them they could get her home, hopefully. With a bit of work and creativity. Damn it all. Clarke smiled at her partner as he made her the sticks that would do. They were actually pretty great. With a bit of work and carving they could actually last for a while, even for the others. Simple injuries of the leg or foot were almost usual at the drop ship, for the simple reason that they were working and running- It worked for her. Clarke hobbled around on them. They really were sufficient enough. They could make it home.
“No. I doubt a stick would really do the trick. Really, Bellamy, the injury is simple.” Almost too simple. “It’s going to be better soon and a stick on my hip immobilizes me, which is not good. We might need to be fast.” With the Grounders around that might be vital. Clarke continued to hobble forward, this time as fast as she possibly could. It would take a lot of effort, but with them being out in the open like that, adrenaline might eventually help her a bit with it. “You coming or what? I don’t need a headstart. But I will take advantage of it.”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy watched her as she explained how a stick would immobilize her and start to move forward a bit, claiming that they would have to be fast. But they were going to move at her own pace . . . and if they needed to run, then Bellamy would just throw her over his shoulder and make a run for i, carrying her as far as they needed to go -- which was back to camp. She then questioned as to whether he was coming or not, teasing about a headstart -- or so he assumed he was teasing.
"Yeah sure, I'll race you," he teased right back with a smirk as he walked alongside her. He was ready to give her the support should she need it. His steps were slow and steady to match her own, though she was doing remarkably well considering her wound and the makeshift crutches for support. "For the record, I don't think your wound was that simple," he teased, though not without truth. Any sort of poisoned or infected wound hardly was. "But since you're the expert, can't argue with it," he said in the same teasing tone, keeping the conversation light, which came with surprising ease. Perhaps it was because he had opened himself up to her in a more intimate way after the kiss they shared.

“It started out as simple.” Clarke explained, hobbling along the dirty path, that would hopefully lead them back home. Given that they kind of lost track, it was hard to tell if they really were on the way home or somewhere else. It really didn’t matter, there was hope on the horizon, they would either find home in time, or another shelter to continue their search the next day. She was taken care of right now. And he was, too. There was no sign of any Grounder activities and with the way they would move, she doubted they would find them anytime soon unless they walked straight into a grounder village, which neither of them intended.
“A simple cut. It’s the positioning of it, that doesn’t allow me to balance myself right now. It’s just unfortunate. The infection was in addition, which made it more complicated, too. But initially it was really just that simple.” And as really that simple it would heal with the infection taken control of. At the drop ship she guessed it would be a day or two until she could walk fully again and after that, well maybe a little scar would remain, always reminding them of this one adventure. “At least I wasn’t speared in the chest. That would have been really annoying.”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT That much was true. It started off simple but then again . . . nothing ever seemed simple down here. There was always some sort of complication, some kind of aspect to a circumstance that made it worse. They seldom ever were able to actually catch a break down here. "Nothings ever simple," he said, vocalizing the summary of his thoughts when it came to this sort of thing. She expressed her relief in not being speared in the chest and well, that was something they could both agree on. "Small blessings, I guess." He didn't want to think of what happened to Jasper, happening to her. He doubted he would have been able to save her had that been the case.
And the thought of her being strung up to a tree . . . Bellamy pushed it out of his mind. He couldn't dwell on that. He couldn't think worst case scenario or what ifs and what could have beens. Her leg would heal. The injury wasn't a life threatening one as far as they could tell. They just needed to get back to camp so she could rest it, so that they could get out of this dangerous zone where Grounders could ambush them at any given moment. Fortunately, the way back was far smoother than the way out . . . and they managed to return with no interference from their enemies.
