whatever THE HELL WE WANT He took the plate in his hand, looking at the contents of it as he listened attentively to her explanation of her actions. It was damn smart of her. He had assumed she was resourceful, having already seen evidence of it, but this made it undeniable. It wasn't just Grounders they had to protect themselve from . . . it was the elements. The vegetation. The natural environment. And Clarke had the intelligence and skills to teach them about that.
He knew he was going to have to learn a lot from her, even if he wouldn't so readily admit that. "Smart," he said casually, knowing it was an understatement, but hey, at least he was giving her a compliment that wasn't sarcastic. "Is it possible to find or make an antidote if someone is poisoned?" He asked her, curious to know if it could work both ways. She had determined a way to prevent someone from consuming poison, but what if it happened anyway? "You should train people as well," he told her, knowing it would be beneficial to teach the others these skills. If they were going to survive here, they needed to know as much as possible.

Now that was something new from his mouth, but not unwelcome. She was smart, at least when it came to that. He was smart in his own way. This day had proven it, that he was not untalented when it came to reading the crowd and he had na idea about survival. It could work. The group needed him to look up to him. The needed to work together. Clarke nodded slowly at his question, anticipating his reaction to what she had to say. He was not going to like it.
“In theory. In theory creating an antidote for poison could be quite easy. However…” Great, not exactly what she wanted to tell him now, but it was the truth no matter how bitter it was. Clarke sighed and shook her head. What the hell did the Ark think? They seemed to have honestly thought they would just die down here, given the damn lack of forethought and supplies. Or it was too quickly thrown together. “However we don’t have the supplies it would need. A microscope, pipettes, testing tubes, a few chemicals, all of which we don’t have. We were lucky to have thread and bandages in the drop ship, but apart from that, we don’t even have the most basic antibiotic penicillin, which would be no problem, if we have the equipment for us to cultivate it, again we don’t.”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT No medicine. Well, shit. He continued to blame the idiots that sent them down here. They sent them down to die. Either by the possible atmosphere that would kill them, or by the lack of basic supplies and necessities like medicine. Bastards. It was frustrating to think about, but cursing the damn Arkers wouldn't do anything to help right now.
"All the more reason to eventually go to Mount Weather. They probably have the supplies we'll need. Maybe even proper medicines that we won't actually have to make." Who knew what was there, but there was hope that it would be the stuff they needed to survive. "For the time being, we'll just focus on prevention methods." Like what she had already shown him. "And hope no one gets poisoned." Hope. That was all they had, and it wasn't something Bellamy liked to go on. He would much raher have concrete ways to help them in each case scenario but they didn't have the luxury of those kinds of resources.

For once she agreed with him – again actually. They had to at least try to get to Mount Weather for supplies. Or maybe there was another chance somewhere. Unfortunately they had no way of knowing where right now. They had to survive by what they had. That included her trying her hardest to bandage people up with the lack of damn supplies.
“And focus on what we have: A bunch of horny teenagers who actually know how to make alcohol and we can use that to disinfect stuff. It’s something, nothing good, but certainly better than nothing. In more than one way. It numbs the mind and with that the pain. And it can clean a wound, potentially even from some minor poisons.” God if only they could have everything they needed. “We should make it clear to people that people need to stay clear of insects as good as they can. We don’t know if they carry viruses or worse: are poisonous. Either way they should be careful of them, too. Then again some could be edible. Oh.... and contraceptives, given how some get around in camp."

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She mentioned horny teenagers and . . . well, Bellamy couldn't deny that. Hell, he fell into that category, minus the teenager part. The alcohol bit was less appealing to him, but she was right. If they could make that, they could use it for medicinal purposes -- not just for getting drunk. "Can ya blame them?" He asked rhetorically. They had been locked up for who knows how long, but he also agreed that preventable measures needed to be taken. The last thing they needed was someone getting pregnant. "I think they've already worked on the first batch of alcohol. We can test out how effective it is." Not necessarily by driking, but by cleaning a wound.
"Aren't there certain plants that repel insects? Maybe we can find those, keep them on us." Certain plants, certain juices and scents from it. That had to be a thing, didn't it? When she mentioned contraceptives, Bellamy slightly clenched his jaw. He hadn't exactly wasted time on that since landing. And he figured it came as no secret. But he also had been prepared. He wasn't stupid enough to have sex with someone unprotected. He definitely didn't want to be a father to anyone's baby.
And if he and Clarke were going to be working together, he better be honest about that. "I have a few," he said non chalantly, hardly shy of that fact. They were however not something he was offering to share. "We can try to make them." If they could find sulfur somehow, they could heat rubber and make it more, elastic. "Unless you know some sort of concoction that women can take." To serve as birth control. It was heavily offered in the Ark, as were condoms, considering that people could only have one child.

“Logically, yes, there have to be.” And they would need to find them. It would probably take a while. Until then they had to take other methods. “Until then whenever someone notices a sting or still has a bug latched onto them, they have to come to me. The sooner I take a look at it the better.” The more likely she could do something if there was really bad poison or worse allergies involved. With all of them having been born on a space stations, they were likely to have a lot of allergies down here. She would have to see about those. The more she thought about potential scenarions, the angrier she got. He was right about the Ark. “Damn it they didn’t even give us Epi!”
“Try to make them is too risky.” They could still not work. And then there was… damn it. Damn the Ark. But with this one it was not unlikely that they simply did not think about that happening. This one could be excused. “With what we have here at the moment, Bellamy? The best way to prevent pregnancies, that I know of are hormones… none of those are available so every concoction I could try to make would be literally poison.”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She suggested that if someone did get stung, then they should go to her, and Bellamy had to agree that that was the best thing to do. "People are already identifying you as the doctor among us," he told her. And rightfully so. "We need to make sure everyone knows that." Because she held the most and extensive knowledge on medicines. She would be the best person to go to for injuries and illnesses.
"They didn't give us shit," Bellamy stated when Clarke mentioned how they didn't give us epi. "They sent us here to die either way," he added on speaking aloud his previous thoughts. "If the air didn't kill us, then the lack of resources and supplies sure as hell would." According to what Clarke had said when they first landed, they hadn't even dropped them in the right spot, considering how far Mount Weather was -- and the risks involved in getting there. "Well we either try to make them or don't. Either way it's not gonna stop people." They were going to do what they wanted and Bellamy wasn't about to turn into anyone's father and tell them not to have sex. "It's worth a shot of trying to make something. Last thing we needed is someone getting pregnat." He hoped to god Octavia didn't, considering what she may have done with Atom.

“Sent us here to die.” Clarke knew then it was real. They might have meant for them to check out earth and how inhabitable it was, but ultimately the limited supplies spoke a bit of a different language. The language was very clear to her then. They spoke about pardons and some would receive them, but clearly they never meant for all 100 to survive. This was twisted and cruel, but not unheard for in the Ark. They frequently reduced the population by killing people after all. They didn’t need 100 to test the earths environment. They only needed a few. The rest was meant to god damn die! She had to steer her thoughts away from there. Contraceptives were the next thing on the list.
“Babies here… given that all of them are underage, bad idea. So we have to risk it, which means I have to experiment on poison. Brilliant.” Which, in turn risked her getting poisoned, but what the hell. All the other kids were even less equipped to do so. They might get themselves killed.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Clarke then seemed to also acknowledge how they had sent them here to die. Whether the Arkers were going to join them or not, when they did, all the work would have already been done. They would have established themselves, determined the dangers, worked the resources they had created and found. It was bull shit. And part of why Bellamy was so rebellious toward those on the Ark. The Chancellot was already dead so who was going to come down and tell them how it was going to be, Kane? "Still feel loyal to them?" He asked her, since she hadn't wanted to take off her bracelet for that reason.
The comment of babies just caued that continous concern that Octavia could be the first one to get pregnant. He supposed only time would tell. She was being too reckless, and he would need to have a proper talk with her. "You do that," he stated. "I'll test out the other thing." Condoms. His words were said with a hint of a smirk, for his 'testing' was far more enjoyable than potentially drinking poison. "Just, try to find a way to test it that doesn't kill you," he added on in a bit of a mocking voice. But really, he was concerned. He didn't want Clarke to die from something like this. Though, she seemed to be too smart to let that happen.

“Yes.” Of course she was still loyal to some extent to the people on the Ark. They would be dying, no matter what. They needed this, this chance to go to earth and simply survive, no matter what the council had said. The council might speak for them all, but it did not mean the people agreed. They did not deserve to die. Those were the kids families. It was just overly complicated here. Whatever it was, though, they needed to worry about the kids, about their every day lives. With the grounders out there and general dangers here, they had no choice but to try hard to keep them alive.
“I might eventually need your help there.” The easiest testable way would affect the sperm, the more risky way would have to be looked into as well. It looked like she had to be very busy. And that needed Montys help. Monty knew those plants. He could tell a lot about them or their original form – permutated in some cases. “It’s late. I think we should worry about it tomorrow. And get inside."

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy wondered if she would still feel that loyalty had her mother not been there. They had floated her father, but her mother was there as well. Must be a shitty spot to be in. But Bellamy wasn't overly concerned about that. They floated his mother and would have done the same to his sister for simply existing. She then spoke of how she would eventually need his help.
"I'll do what I can," he said, not exactly know how she would need his help. Had he known, he would have instantly rejected it. But for the time being, they were attempting to work together and he figured denying his assistance right now wasn't a good way to kick things off. She the suggested going back inside and he glanced at her before looking back at Charlotte's grave. "You go," he told her. "I'll be there in a bit." He needed a few more moments of mourning, allowing himself that before he officially set it behind him and could fully move on.

She guessed he deserved the privacy, but since it was outside, Clarke was slightly reluctant to get up and leave him alone. Then again Bellamy Blake was an ass. What were the chances of people getting him? They’d probably get everyone else first. He had skills, he was basically the one guy to get on her nerves, he’d last even out here. Clarke nodded.
“Goodnight Bellamy.” She turned and went back inside to the tent she slept in while being here. Her thoughts circled on this. She would have to talk to him more in the morning, but most of it would probably be learning by doing and winging it. Clarke crawled into her makeshift bed and closed her eyes, letting the emotions and happenings of the day wash over her. She had a horrible night ahead of her, she knew it. Bellamy Blake
