Gena thought she was being so subtle, but Raven knew her too well. She saw straight through her. They were both actually almost painfully obvious, a blind man could see the massive crushes they had on each other, but for some reason they couldn’t. It was frustrating to watch every time Bellamy came to the bakery with the shameless and to be honest kind of lame flirting that Gena seemed to dig for some reason. It was at those specific times that she wondered how on Earth he managed to get into her pants. But neither of them would make a move. She would flutter her eyelids, he would all but drool and then….nothing. Bellamy would take the doughnuts and leave every…single…time. She couldn’t take it any longer.
It hadn’t been a lie per say. But Raven had needed to say something to get Gena to come so she told her to be her backup on a date Raven was going on with some guy she met at the autoshop. It would be a double date she said, and he was bringing a friend so she needed to bring a friend. “You’d be doing me a massive favour.” There it was. The line she knew her friend couldn’t resist. She was just too kind hearted for her own good. It was just bending the truth. Okay fine, it was kind of lie but the guy, Wells was it? was real and so was the double date idea. She just failed to mention that Gena’s blind date would be one Bellamy Blake. There was no way she would have come otherwise.
Using the same lie on Bellamy surprisingly worked too, though it took a little more convincing and she had to play around with the words slightly. But now all the pieces were set. She just had to wait for them to come to the restaurant. It was the perfect plan. They’d be telling their kids about how Aunt Raven was the reason they even existed. It was going to work, and now the only thing left was for Raven to diabolically laugh while stroking a fluffy white cat. Overkill? Perhaps. But everyone needed to know that she was the godamn master at matchmaking.

Gena still couldn’t believe she agreed to this. She normally would be the one to cater for dates or make wedding cakes when the dating stage was well over with her friends and family or just customers. She was not exactly outgoing. She was a friend and sometimes, rarely, she got closer with someone, but it had to be baby steps. They had to be friends first. She needed to be able to trust people before she entrusted them with her heart. She didn’t want her heart to be broken after all. Raven was much more courageous than she could ever be and apparently she found someone she wanted to take out and she needed someone to make this double date complete.
Gena was wearing a tight red dress when she arrived, hair just fixed a bit. She didn’t care too much about her appearance, not expecting to actually have a real date herself. She just wanted to be cute for herself that night. And given how that dress barely covered her, she knew she could because Raven was there. Raven did not let anything happen to her friends and boys should be scared of her.
“Are you sure a double date is a good idea? There is no way this is going to lead to something for me. Or am I just the chaperone? Meant to stop you from jumping him?... or her? Not that my outfit works for that.”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT This was not his thing. Not at all. Going on a double date set up by Raven. Yet, here he was. She had somehow miraculously managed to convince him to meet her and her friend at the agreed upon place. He knew by now, that when Raven Reyes set her mind to something . . . she was often too stubborn to let it go. Hell, Bellamy thought that he was the stubborn one but she had won this time. Just, this, once. After his shift he quickly showered and got dressed. Nothing fancy. A t-shirt, jeans, and a jacket on top. This was just a casual date after all.
Maybe it would end well -- really well -- and maybe it wouldn't. He wasn't holding onto the hope of anything. But then, nor was he in the habit of going on blind dates. Once he made it to the destination, he quickly parked and entered. Standing by the door, his eyes surveyed the crowd and fell onto Raven. Only briefly however because he took more notice of the woman standing next to her. Son. Of. A. Bitch. He was going to kill Raven. He paused for a moment, distracted by how damn good Gena looked in the dress that accented her figure.
Fortunately, they didn't see him so it gave Bellamy a few additional moments to staring, getting his shit together and making his way toward the two women. "Hey," he greeted nonchalantly, having taken advantage of the few moments he had to compose himself. Dammit Raven. He knew this was hardly a coincidence. She had set this up. Clearly. And here they were now. Did Raven even have a date or was this just a complete set up that she was going to soon bail on? He eyed her for a moment, before turning to Gena with a bit of a smile, looking between the two women, his next question meant for Raven. "Your date come yet?" He asked, almost mockingly, sarcastically, as he stood looking at her, hoping she knew him well enough to understand the underlying tone in his words.

When Gena arrived, Raven stopped dead in her tracks. Perfection. The dress, on her figure. She couldn’t have planned it better herself. Bellamy was going to freak. Raven ignored her questions and insecurities and just shamelessly stared as she quietly shushed the other girl. Laying a hand on either side of her arms in reassurance. “You look smokin’ hot,” she said with a smile. “If we weren’t already friends, I’d stand these guys up and just date you myself,” she added with a sly wink, to make Gena a laugh and maybe calm her nerves a bit. God knows she’d be nervous and maybe want to kill Raven slightly when she figured out who was coming. Bellamy definitely would. But Raven didn’t care. They’d thank her for it later. Not too much later though she hoped.
When the man in question finally arrived it took all of Raven’s will power to steel her expression and not just grin at them. She took a slight step back to allow Bellamy to get close to Gena…to greet her properly of course. The look on his face didn’t slip by her though. He liked what he saw. And why wouldn’t he. Gena looked bomb in that dress. His question however nearly blew her composure. She was so close to just laughing in his face because he knew this was a set up. By now that would be clear to both of them. “Hmmm?” she feigned innocence, the look in her eyes and the barely contained grin giving her away. “Oh well it looks like he’s running late,” she said knowing full well he wasn’t coming. Before either of them could have a chance to get out of this or very possibly kill her for doing this, she turned. “Well would you look at that…our table’s ready.” She said with the least subtle smile imaginable. “I’m sure he won’t mind. Shall we?” And with that Raven stepped forward content in the knowledge that so far her plan was working. Of course it was…she was Raven goddamn Reyes.

“Right back at you sister.” Gena replied to Raven, grinning. “Maybe we should ditch our dates and just have one ourselves.” It was of course a joke. But Raven wasn’t a bad option. She was a great friend, from what she heard great in bed and Gena knew, if given time, she might fall for her. Thought it would be a rather different story. And then she saw him. Bellamy. Of all the guys she expected, it wasn’t Bellamy. For a long moment she thought that was Ravens date. And hey would fit well. Genas smile was slightly insecure, clearly accenting that she didn’t know what to say. This felt weird. She noticed his look and then Ravens. The way their eyes sparkled in ways she had seen before. This was a set up! This had to be a set up! Oh Raven was good. Somehow she doubted another person would arrive. Or if they did, it would be a good friend of Ravens, totally in on the set up.
“I’m sure.” Because he wasn’t coming or in on Ravens plan. He wasn’t minding this at all. “So what did you plan then, Raven? What kind of dinner did you plan for all of us to have? Surely you have an idea how to make this extra special for all of us.” Surely she had an idea. Something to open up conversation, a joint meal that would force all of them to interact. This little demon. She really had all of this planned. “I think this calls for a drink at least. To pass the time. Until your date arrives.”
