whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy hadn't wasted a moment. The second that he called out Gustus for doing this, he raced to Raven's side, moving her arm around his neck to help her elsewhere. Abby was right there too, as the two of them shifted her over to a more secluded location so that Abby could take a look at her wounds. Bellamy inwardly cursed the Grounders for what they had done to Raven. Without any benefit of the doubt, they had so eagerly accused them of poisoning the Commander. It reinforced what Bellamy already knew: the Grounders could not be trusted. This entire alliance was shaky, which was also why he stood by his initial belief in that they needed an inside man. But until Clarke was on board with the idea, he wouldn't push it. They had already lost Finn. He wasn't going to give a reason for them to mourn anyone else.
Right now, Raven was priority. The poor woman had been through so damn much. Getting shot, losing Finn, and now this. It wasn't right, and it made him angry towards the Grounders for putting her through this now. All he could do, was offer his support. Hold her while she mourned. And right now, help her to where Abby led them to where the feast had taken place. There was a surface that Raven could lay on. Bellamy helped collect whatever she needed, a bowl of water and some cloths to take a look at the injures.
"The blades weren't poisoned right?" He wanted to be sure they didn't need an antitode. While the purpose had been to basically cut her to death, poison could add further pain to her. Abby instructed Bellamy what to do as she rushed out to find out more. Bellamy sat at the edge of the surface where Raven lay, lifting her shirt so that it bunched just above her stomach as he gently began to wipe the blood from the first cut. "Bastards," he said in a low voice, one only meant for Raven to hear as he cursed the assholes who did this.

Raven just let herself be carried by Bellamy and Abby inside. Completely relying on them to keep her up as she was cut down from the tree. The only thing keeping her from slipping into unconsciousness was the adrenaline pumping through her body. The bone shattering fear that she couldn’t let go of, was quite literally keeping her awake. Shivering she laid down on the cold hard surface beneath her, barely paying attention to her surroundings anymore. Raven just wanted to wake up from this nightmare. Because none of this could be real. This couldn’t have happened. All she needed to do was close her eyes and she would wake up on the ark in his arms. The same way she’d woken up so many times for so many years. Hell if that was too much to ask then she would be fine with waking up on the ground with Finn in Clarke's arms. Just as long as he….as long as wasn’t…
The pain of contact with one of the cuts pulled Raven from her thoughts. Glancing down at Bellamy she sighed. Ordinarily she would refuse his help, but she was in no place to do any such thing. He’d seen her in her most vulnerable state, held her together as she shattered into a million pieces. Really there was no one else she’d rather be here, trying to hold those pieces together again. Only this time in a more obviously physical sense. Hissing at the pain, she moved her hand to wipe more of the tears that were falling. It was a wonder there were any left. “Bellamy,” she practically whispered, laying a hand on his to pause his movements. “I’m…scared.” Raven looked away as she said the last word, feeling something akin to shame at admitting her feelings, like some terrified kid. “Don’t leave…me,” she continued, her voice breaking with unshed tears.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT His heart broke, hearing Raven's words. Admitting her fear, asking him not to leave her. Raven was one of the strongest people he knew . . . and she sounded more broken than he had ever heard her. She had every right to be. With getting shot, losing Finn, and now this? It made Bellamy's rage all the strongest against the people who had caused her to suffer. But right now . . . she didn't need him to be angry for her. Despite that being a constant state. She was afraid, and Bellamy wanted to ease her fears in whatever way he could.
"Hey," he said in a quiet voice, as he slightly leaned down, looking intently into her eyes so that she could see the sincerity of his words. "I'm not going anywhere," he assured her; promised her. "I'm not going to let anyone touch you." Not another one of those damn Grounders who were so keen on the torture of their people. They had done enough damage . . . but it only strengthened Bellamy's distrust of them. His hand went to Raven's forehead, gently caressing it in an attempt to comfort her, to ease her. With one hand continuing to stroke her forehead, the other proceeded to gently clean away the blood from her wounds.
"When we were growing up, I used to tell Octavia that I wouldn't let anything bad happen to her," he began to say, talking to help distract Raven . . . whether it would help or not, he wasn't sure. "I didn't do a really good job of that," he said with a faint smile, though he meant his words. There was truth in them; for all he tried to protect her from, and all the pain and harm she had been inflicted with. "But for what it's worth . . . same sentiment goes for you." Because he was determined to protect her, even where he had failed, multiple times.

Raven leaned into Bellamy’s touch closing her eyes at the contact of his hand gently stroking her forehead. So that for a moment she could pretend like everything was okay. Or at least that everything would be okay. But who were they kidding. Bellamy’s promises were empty. They had no real power here. The grounders had made that abundantly clear with…Finn and now with her. She desperately wanted to cling to the safety Bellamy wanted his words to offer, to the comfort. But she couldn’t. If they wanted to, those savages could march back in here and have her killed. Slowly, painfully, like they would have done to Finn.
She hissed again as he continued to clean the wound on her abdomen. The strain in her features an obvious tell that she was trying to hide the very real pain she was in. Instead of dwelling on it, Raven attempted to concentrate on Bellamy, his face, his words. She silently nodded, laying a hand on his arm to grab his attention, looking him in the eyes. “Thanks,” she said sincerely, choking back the tears of pain she wanted to cry. Refusing to let them show. “Careful though,” she began. “People who get close to me, who want to protect me…they,” her eyes closed as she spoke. “They always get hurt.” Like she was cursed. As if the universe was trying to make it abundantly clear that she didn’t deserve to be happy. “I don’t want that to happen to you.”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Compassion seeped onto Bellamy's features, albeit a short lasted expression. But it was felt within his heart. Seeing her tortured, powerless to stop it. Kane had held him back. The others just watched. It was sickening. Just like it had been to watch them string up Finn. How could they work with these people? Bellamy wasn't optimistic. But he had to put his trust in Clarke who had seemed to develop some sort of rapport with the Commander. And he trusted Clarke. It was the only reason he was here . . . the only reason he hadn't fought harder against this alliance. Bellamy's eyes glanced down to the hand on his arm, before slowly raising to meet her own gaze again. She was thanking him, and he gave a short nod in return. His heart weighted with guilt for not doing more to stop this. To just let them inflict this torture onto Raven.
She was so damn strong, and each time he saw her hurt -- physically or emotionally -- it broke his heart. Her words did the same, an ache surging through his chest as he clenched his jaw a little at her warning. How similar they were. Perhaps that was the reason they had clashed to begin with. For he too felt that anyone close to him, got hurt. This wasn't the time to talk about their shared fears though. He wanted to focus on Raven. He wanted to do what he could to help her, through the tending of her wounds, as well as the healing of her heart and mind. But he wasn't disillusioned to believe that he had that much power. He put a hand on her cheek for a moment.
"Hey," he said in a gentle voice, urging her to open her eyes so that he could look deep into them and that she would see the sincerity in his gaze and words. "I'm not scared of that," he told her. He couldn't deny how she felt about people getting close. But he could say that he was unafraid of what may happen from it. "And I'm not going anywhere. I can be just as stubborn as you. So you can't get rid of me that easily," he added in a bit of a teasing voice, trying to lighten the mood despite the tense circumstances.
He continued to carefully and tenderly wipe each cut, anger flickering inside of him with each glide of the blade against her skin. Marking her, as if they had the right to. No one, not a damn person had the right to do that. "Nothing will happen to me," he added on. Truth be told, he didn't care if it did so long as it meant that Raven was safe. "And I'm going to make damn sure nothing else happens to you." No matter what the cost. "I'm sorry, Raven," he added on, another clench of his jaw as he carried on the wiping of each cut. "For what happened." For letting this happen. For not fighting harder against these bastards who have done nothing but cause death and cause them grief and suffering.

Leaning into his touch, Raven forced herself to look into his eyes again. Allbeit afraid of showing her own vulnerability and fear through her own. All she could think of to say to him was ‘you should be scared,’ but instead she chose to find strength in his determination. Even in his stubbornness as she offered a small smile at his teasing words. It was moments like this that would make Raven realise just how far they’d come in such a short amount of time. From wanting to kill him to desperately wanting to keep him safe and alive. Not an easy task on the ground.
“You have nothing to be sorry for. You saved me, and I’m not going to sit here and watch you take the blame for everything, Blake.” She added, teasing him, and joining him in his attempt to lighten the mood. Though her hiss as she spoke his name didn’t really help. “I swear you’ll say the nuclear war was your fault next.” He had a knack for carrying the weight of the whole world on his shoulders. For taking responsibility for everything that happened to them. It wasn’t healthy, especially since the self-sacrificing idiot was the whole reason they’d survived this long. “I just…we…just need to get out of here. They’re savages, who knows what they’ll blame us for next.” They liked to blame them almost as much as Bellamy blamed himself. That commander, Raven couldn’t even bring herself to say her name, was just looking for an excuse to wipe them out. All the grounders were. And today for the first time for Raven, only proved just how powerless they would be should she choose to.
