Clarke had a faint idea of where this was going. She wasn’t exactly sure she was up for that at this time. They had work to do in the morning, work she would need to do while being able to walk straight. While she relished the connection, she also quite liked her ability to walk without having to fake female problems she usually didn’t have. “Flattery, Bellamy? Really?” She had to admit she loved him saying that, but he was biased. He was in love. She could probably draw him a stick figure and he’d declare it the most amazing piece of art, just because he was… well… In love. How weird was that idea? Bellamy Blake, the oldest of the hundred, had fallen in love. With HER of all people.
“Come on, you witnessed it. Remember Harper tripping over multiple times last week? She did not trip by accident at all.” The reality was, Clarke had taken a bit of revenge on the girl for flirting with her man. Harper hadn’t gotten harmed, but she felt it. Bellamy was with her right now, god damn it. But she still didn’t want people to know. She’d love casual displays of affection, but she refused to give up their privacy for this. This included this casual rolling around in bed after sex, without having to fear people coming in to disturb their peace. Clarke really disliked that people might have the idea, that once they were a couple, they could just walk in, like they did with others.
“Get down on one knee? Technically I’m on both knees right now. Then again, you’re one to talk. Usually it’s the guys job to propose, but I’m guessing I would have gone grey until you would have done that.” He wouldn’t have proposed to her, she slowly realized. Clarke lowered herself to lie on his chest, not looking at him. “Forget it, it was just an idea.”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Yes flattery. Though he meant every word of what he said as well. It was only times like these where he could engage in flirtations with her; where he could tell her how beautiful she was. How much he cared for her. She spoke of Harper having tripped numerous times last week, and Bellamy's mind easily recalled that. "Damn, Clarke. And here I thougth she was just feeling disoriented the whole time," he said with a smile of amusement. She hadn't gotten hurt, but the fact that Clarke was taking out her small burst of jealousy for Harper's advances . . . well, it made it impossible not to smile at that.
"Best not to mess with the princess," he added on teasingly. He wondered if Harper had any idea . . . most likely not. They were often careful in terms of not letting others get an idea of how deep their relatonship actually was. Which, was part of the problem now for it would be all the more difficult if they would have to move into the station. She went on to state that it was usually the man's job to propose, but that she would have been waiting for a while before he did. She was right. He hadn't any intention of proposing to her any time soon. Her family dynamic was a bit more traditional than his own. He didn't know much of his father, and they had an illegal third member. Clarke finished by telling him to forget it, and that it was just an idea. Marriage. The impact of what she wanted was starting to register in his mind.
She wanted to be with him, she wanted to solidify their relationship in this way. He was already completely comitted to her. He loved her. So marriage was the next logical step. He remained silent, thinking over everything. She was indeed right. He wouldn't have thought to ask her to marry him, but he wanted to make her happy. And besides, the thought of having her as his wife . . . was indeed a welcome one. His arms were around her, one hand casually caressing her back. "Hey, Clarke," he said in a low voice. His next words were sincere, because he wanted to be hers in every sense of the word. He may not have been her frst boyfrend or frst lover . . . but he could be her frst, and hopefully only, husband. "Let's get married."

If she was right, they might be able to catch a bit more of sleep. Forcing down the disappointment she undoubtedly felt, Clarke wondered for a moment, if she should move, before she closed her eyes. But she decided against it. They’d move soon enough and right now she wasn’t sure if she could even go back to sleep. Maybe not. Probably not. Her impromptu proposal had literally bit her in the ass it seemed. She hadn’t even really thought it through and now she had to deal with the disappointment of it and questions of where it would actually go for them next. What if they just had no future like that? She didn’t want to think about it, but, well, she did. And she couldn’t even talk to anyone about it.
“It’s okay, Bell.” She whispered. He was holding her and telling her they should get married, but what if he just said that to make her happy? He had that in him, having grown up with only women around him, he knew how to. Clarke pulled the blanket over them, up under her nose, so he was as covered as it got and her as well. “You don’t have to say that to make me happy.” She couldn’t tell him it was just an idea right now, as it was a bit more to her, but it didn’t matter. “We don’t have to get married.” It would have been a solution, but they could do it either way. Did marriage even matter down here? To their people it might, to show them their union was solid, should they discover it, but apart from that? "We should start working on a permanent solution for out tent tomorrow. Like build a cabin."

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She was telling him that they didn't have to get married; that he didn't have to say this to make her happy. "What if I'm saying it to make both of us happy?" He asked, somewhat rhetorically. He had been caught off guard by the idea of getting married, and perhaps he should have reacted sooner to it. "I love you, Clarke. I'm completely committed to you. And I don't ever want to be with anyone else." He could say that with confidence.
He was the oldest of the 100 sent down -- though he wasn't technically even part of that 100 and in all his years, he never met anyone who he had wanted to be with. He had never met anyone he had loved or imagined being in a committed relationship with. Clarke had changed all that. And he knew that what he felt for her, he would never feel for anyone else. "Unless you don't feel the same way of coure," he said teasingly. The thought of her wanting to marry him was an honoring one. And he didn't want to so easily dismiss just how much it meant to him. "So, what do you say; will you marry me, Clarke Griffin?" He asked genuinely, skipping over the getting down on one knee bit.

“Idiot” she said affectionately. Over the time her saying she didn’t like him had transformed into a hidden form of a declaration of love. When she called him ass or idiot, it usually meant something like ‘honey’ or a gentle nudge to get a reaction from him. If it was any other man, it wouldn’t have affected her like that. She wouldn’t have bothered with it too much, might not even have brought it up, but this was Bellamy. Their bond survived so much already, she just wanted it to keep on surviving. She looked up again.
“Of course I feel that way, Bellamy. If… I didn’t want to lose this intimacy between us, I’d happily climb up the station and shout to the world that I fucking love you.” But that would be stupid as hell, so she wouldn’t do that no matter what. She meant it though. “Yes.” For her there was never any doubt, not since they really got committed to each other. She was in this for better or worse anyway, with a contact or without it, though in their society the contract only brought improvement for both of them. With it he would get a say in what would happen to her and she would get a say in what would happen to him, should something happen. There could be no reasons for anyone to separate them as the law then would view them as a unit, one which they already were anyway.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy smirked at her calling him an idiot, well aware that it wasn't cast as an insult. He often felt amused by it, just as she had referred to him with such terms whenever they had sex. She told him that she felt the same and that she would have climbed up on the station and shouted it to the world. "I'm gonna hold you to that one day," he told her teasingly. Jokingly really. Such wasn't the nature of their relationship. She then answered his question with a yes, prompting him to lightly kiss the top of her head.
"Guess that means we're engaged," he said with a bit of a smile. Funny how all that happened, and yet, he wouldn't have expected it any other way. Then again, he hadn't expected this at all. But he knew it was something Clarke wanted . . . and why shouldn't they solidify their relationship? Anything could happen and he didn't want to take their time for granted, nor waste it when they both were completely committed to each other. As they both loved each other. "We'll talk to Kane." When they were able to. Bellamy imagined it would make the most sense for him to officiate it. He would most probably tell Octavia, and then Clarke if she so wished to tell her mother.

They were engaged. Now that sounded more than surreal, yet it was reality. They were engaged. They had plans to get married, in as much secret as they could afford. Clarke wondered how they would do it. Kane was the obvious choice to marry them. He could keep a secret, he was one of the few who might need to know of their union. And there was no way they could leave Octavia out of it. The siblings were close. Octavia needed to know and she could keep her mouth shut, Clarke knew as much, even if she might not be … her biggest fan. The question was: Should they tell her mother? Her mother was much more likely to tell. But she couldn’t leave her out of it. It was her mother.
“Yeah. And to your sister and my mother? I can only guess Octavia would hold it against us for a very long time if she wouldn’t get to be there.” A very, very long time. Besides, it was better if she knew. Clarke moved her position, whimpering a bit at the loss of their connection as she lay next to him, her head remaining in his chest, one leg still thrown over his protectively and slightly possessively. “What do you think she’ll say?”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT What would Octavia say. That was indeed a good question. As Clarke moved her position, he felt the immediate deprivation of her warmth, though easily adjusted so that he could still hold her. Bellamy moved his arm around Clarke from behind, as she lay next to him, holding her close to him. He mulled over the question, trying to determine his sister's reaction to this news. "She'll be surprised, that's for sure," he stated. "Maybe not so much about us being together." Perhaps Octavia knew already or had a feeling, though Bellamy had never said anything. His sister just knew him extremely well.
"More so about the marriage bit." As Bellamy had already thought, their family wasn't exactly a traditional one. That was only reinforced down here with who she had fallen for. A Grounder, who had been their enemy at the time. "But you're right. It's better that she know and be there. I'll never hear the end of it," he said with a slight smile. He did want her there though. She was his only family, and for the longest time, had been his entire world. He told her that his life hadn't truly started until the day she was born, and he meant it. "What about your mom?" He asked, slightly turning his head to look at Clarke. How would her mother react to all this?

“Wait – what?” Octavia would not be surprised about them being together? “Why?” Did he tell her? Not that she minded, but what the hell made him think that she would not be surprised about it? They were keeping things secret. People were not supposed to know! People… oh damn it, of course. They were living in a tent together and while a piece of cloth shielded their bed from view, obviously his sister might notice something about him change, like less sexual frustration, which would probably happen, would they just be two singles in a tent. Did anyone else make the connection? Initially it was just about them as friends sharing a tent, the leaders together in one place… but things had changed very quickly.
“We should tell her, too. It would be only fair. If Octavia gets to be there, so should my only remaining family. At least that’s what she’ll say if she finds out after we got married. Sooo, she’ll have to know.” Clarke imagine she might be slightly pissed regardless, but less so if she could attend the signing of the contract instead of being completely left out. “So, will it be Bellamy Griffin or Clarke Blake? Or Griffin – Blake?”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Clarke questioned how Octavia might know about them, and while Bellamy wasn't entirely certain she did, he didn't think it would come as a huge shock to her. "She's my sister," he began to explain. "She knows me well enough that she could have picked up on something." The way he was with Clarke was not like how he was with the others. He was different with the women that he loved and Octavia could very well recognize that. Now whether she actually did, had yet to be determined. "What do you think your mom will say?" He inquired. It would indeed be nice for her mother to be there too. They both had one existing family member so it would make sense. Better that than try to have a massive camp wide wedding. That was something that neither of them would be into he imagined.
"Well, we got our guest list figured out," he said with a bit of a smile. Not an extensive one, but it would be suitable for them. Perfect for them in fact. She then started suggesting names and Bellamy smiled with amusement at the first. "I kinda like Bellamy Griffin," he said jokingly, unable to resist saying his first name and her surname together. It sounded rather amusing. But if she was seriously asking, he should respect that and give a proper reply. Besides, he wasn't one of those people that felt it was imperative for a woman to take her husband's last name. He wanted that to be her decision. "I understand if you want to keep your dad's last name, Clarke." A name that lived on in her and of course her mother. "Should you want to take mine, I'd be honored." Perhaps one of her suggestions would be the perfect middle. "Though I have to admit, Clarke Griffin- Blake sounds pretty good," he added on with a smile, incorporating a bit of both.

“I’m not sure.” While she was sure of Octavias slightly disapproving reaction and her eventually thinking of her brothers happiness before her disdain towards Clarke, the blonde had to really think of how her mother would react to that. What would she think of her getting married at 18? And then getting married to Bellamy? With Wells it was easy, she would have approved of him within a heartbeat, Bellamy was different, though. Clarke saw she held a lot of respect for Bellamy these days. He stood up to her and Kane for the remaining 44, as did Clarke. She could respect that. And Bellamy was skilled in what he did. He inspired the masses, which by now meant he was leading a lot more. Even though nobody said anything, but he was, officially or unofficially, a part of the leadership for their people. The blonde was positive that should it come to a threat, they would ask for Bellamys council officially and hers as well. “She will probably initially try to find a way to disapprove, but she respects you. I think she’ll be okay with it, eventually.” It might just take her a bit.
“I would want that.” And he would probably want to keep his mothers name. She understood this desire as it was probably the very, very same desire for the both of them: Wanting to hold onto something of their parents. They could just both keep their names. It made no difference. It wasn’t like they planned on a child anytime soon where the last name would become an actual issue. They could just both keep their names. But then he suggested a name with a certain ring to it. “Clare Griffin- Blake.” It had something. She painted lazy imaginary circles on his chest as she pondered the name. Clarke Griffin- Blake. It was actually the best of both worlds. She could keep her name and take on his. “I think that’s the best solution. Clarke Griffin- Blake. I kind of love it. What do you say?”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy hoped it wouldn't take her mother long to accept this and be alright with it. Then again, he doubted it would fully prevent them from going forward with what they wanted. It would just be easier if there was minimal -- or no -- tension. "We've all been through hell down here," he began to say. "I think you and I have earned the right to find some happiness where we can, and solidify it. Hopefully your mom will understand that." They had been sent out here to basically die. The Ark had hardly equipped them with anything, having expected them to go to Mount Weather which . . . would have been disasterous in itself. Though they had dumped them in the middle of no where instead. They are the ones that had built a life here.
The others just joined them when they literally had no other choice. He smiled when she spoke her name with both surnames, asking him what he thought. "It sounds perfect," he sincerely stated. "It suits you really well actually." The thought of having her take his last name as part of hers . . . well, it made it impossible not to smile at that. "She would have liked you, you know," he suddenly stated, finding that Clarke deserved to hear it. "My mother I mean." He didn't talk of Aurora at all, finding the memories to painful. But, Clarke was going to be his wife. He wanted her to know this. "She would have really liked you." Clarke encompassed so many qualities that he knew his mother would have approved of. She most certainly would have approved of Clarke, which was all the more reason he felt glad that she was taking his family's last name.

Even if her mother didn’t, she would go through with it. Her mother and the council sent them down to earth to die basically. She and Bellamy had carried the burden of what had been done in order for them to survive, their hands were bloody. They really deserved whatever happiness they could get. So they shouldn’t let anyone stop them from getting married if they really wanted it. Clarke placed her hand flat over his heart now, feeling the warmth of his chest under her finger. He was alive, he made her happy, so very very happy. If Clarke was being honest with herself, which was now easy when it concerned him, the quiet evenings with him were the happiest parts of her days.
“Then we got my future name.” Future for not too long if Clarke could decide. She’d love to take him to Kane, ask him, get their family and have the marriage officiated right the next night. Maybe that was the best and most uncomplicated solution. People would be asleep in the night. Nobody would see or question them in one place, officiating a marriage. Suddenly Clarke fell silent. Did he really think that? Did he mean it? She knew he loved his mother a lot, she had felt it and with every day of their relationship it grew clearer. “Really? That’s good. I would have liked to meet the woman who gave birth to you and Octavia. She must have been such a brave strong woman.”

whatever THE HELL WE WANT When he felt her hand rest on his chest, he moved his own hand to rest on top of hers. Over his heart. A heart that now beat for two woman again. For some time, it had just been his mother. And then her and Octavia. Then Octavia . . . and now, the two woman he loved most in the world. He never would have thought he'd be fortunate enough to know what it was to love someone. To choose to love someone. To find ones soulmate. He'd never thought that would be in his future. Yet how incredibly wrong he was.
"That we do. The sooner we can make it official, the better." Now that it was decided, he didn't want to waste time fussing over the details. He wanted to make her his wife. "Where do you wanna go for our honeymoon?" He asked jokingly. He had heard that on Earth, people would travel around the world to celebrate the union of marriage. But when people were married on the Ark . . . well, there wasn't much of anywhere to go. Still, he couldn't resist asking the teasing question, knowing that a honeymoon in the very traditional sense wasn't exactly something they could enjoy the luxury of. Clarke mentioned how she would have liked to meet his mother, speaking of how she must have been strong and brave.
She was. It was where Octavia got her own strength and bravery from. Any good he was, he owed to his mother, and to Octavia as well. For despite him being the older brother, he had learned a great deal from her. "Traits that you have in common with her." For Clarke was nothing less than brave and strong . . . among many other things of course. He knew that feeling of wanting to meet the other's parent . . . for while he obviously met Abby, he would have liked to meet her father. "At least we'll have one mother there. Think she'll mind if I start calling her mom?" He asked with a smirk, completely joking on the matter.

“Mh, I don’t know? The furthers back tent in the camp?” Meaning theirs of course. But she also had a bit of another idea on their honeymoon. They wanted to avoid having to move into the station and with that having to reveal their marital status. “Maybe we should spend out honeymoon by building a cabin?” They were both young, probably the most unaffected by the cold, building could help ward the cold off as well. It could be really good for them. They’d have a permanent home then, figure out the kinks of building as well.
“Bellamy, don’t call my mom, mom, she’ll probably rip your head of. Call her Abby. Gosh, don’t call her mom, please.” That was weird, even to her. She loved him, so much, but that… crossed all the lines she knew of, even though it didn’t officially. “It’s not like you’ll then be blood relatives. I’m not about to start calling Octavia sister. Then again she might decapitate me if I tried.” She was still not her biggest fan, despite them warming up to each other again, very, very slowly. And probably for the sake of Bellamy mostly. “Will we have Lincoln there too? I mean he’s… basically your brother in law.” Minus the law thing yet.
