vallier | bellamy AI LAIK WAMPLEI Things were still . . . confusing. Conflicting. Bellamy was fully aware that right now, this was the safest place they could be, but it hardly made him dismissive of what that meant for Echo and Rosa. He had put them in this situation of danger; one that forced them to flee their home and all they knew. Bellamy wondered if the situation were reversed, if he would be strong enough to do the same. He would give his life in an instant if it meant protecting his loved ones, but it seemed that it was that very love that was condemning others; those who had fallen prey to it.
Tonight, sleep evaded him. Every since discovering who he truly was, sleep did not come easy. He found himself restless at night and this particular one, he quietly exited the quarters granted to him by his father, where he and Echo as well as Rosa remained. His daughter was with Kane tonight though. Kane or Octavia. Between the two of them, Rosa was doted upon like any first child . . . or any child was.
He had left Echo sleeping -- or he assumed her to be sleeping. Things were tense between the two of them, and of course he didn't blame her in the slightest. He feared that her love was only for Vallier, and that she could not love Bellamy which was yet another thing he wouldn't blame her for. Yet it was a crippling fear. As he made his way around Arkadia, he went to the designated bar or recreational area.
He'd noticed it earlier but had not gone toward it. The piano. Another Arker often used it, playing music for the crowd to help soothe everyone. For Bellamy, the actual playing was what soothed him as it was a hobby he had on the Ark. Yet he'd not touched a piano since . . . well before Octavia was arrested and their mother floated. With the abandoned room, Bellamy made his way to the instrument. He seated himself on the stool, flexing his fingers a little. He hadn't touched one for so long and the impact of doing so was overwhelming. Still, he positioned his hands and began to play a tune he had played so many times before. Well rehearsed and never forgotten.

The sounds that came from the thing he sat at where sharp high pitched echos in her ears. At first it had made her mentally flinch at the sounds but then they mellowed out into something softer. Echo stepped closer, and watched him. His back was too her so for the moment she was not worried about guarding her thoughts behind the wall that warriors took on. Without her boots, her feet had moved soundlessly down the metal halls of this place. Rosa behind the locked door sleeping.
She had wanted to know where Vallier went. They had been at odds since coming here, and Echo didn't like it. She had given up everything to be with him, and the only thing they seemed to be able to do was stare at each other like children who didn't know what to make out of a creature it had never seen. She was tired of it, but didn't know how to move past it. Here they wore everything so openly. She knew which ones were pleased and which were in love and which were sad---if she had to attack there was so much weakness here! . . . yet they saw her as weak instead and it was odd. She had seen the way they looked at her when they couldn't tell what she was thinking. They thought her odd.
Walking up behind him, she passed by to stand beside the wooden box that made such sounds. Leaning slightly she looked inside it, before pulling back to look at him. Another difference. Her people used voice and drums. His used this to make music. Perhaps they were too different. "You have done this before." She told him, clearly being able to tell he had. Another sign that he was not Vallier. He was Belomi.

vallier | bellamy AI LAIK WAMPLEI Bellamy had been lost in his own world; lost in his own mind. Distracted with the thoughts of this familiarity, of never having touched the instrument since the loss of his mother and arrest of his sister. Not that he played a great deal either. It was just those rare, stolen moments when the opportunity provided itself. He paused when he saw Echo, his eyes still on the keys, though of course knew it was her. She seemed to be inspecting the instrument more than him. Which made perfect sense. A piano wasn't exactly in common use among Azgeda. None of their technologies were. When she spoke, his hands lowered from the keys to casually rest on his lap, only letting a few moments of silence linger before he answered it with an honest response.
"On the Ark," he explained . . . having remembered at least that much. The bits and pieces were coming back, more and more each and every day. He turned his head to look at her. "Before I came to the Ground," he further clarified. Ark life was unknown to Grounders . . . and as Bellamy had not gained the memories until recently, he knew that it would continue to be unfamiliar to her. Apart from what they heard of Skaikru. "It's called a piano," he further explained. Irrelevant information but . . . things had been tense between him and Echo. He hated it, and hated what he did to her, what he asked her to leave behind. He wasn't worth the sacrifice . . . yet was selfish enough to want her and their daughter to stay with him. Besides, they were safer here than with Azgeda at this point.

The ark. That was this thing, but it had once been near the stars and then came here. Echo didn't show her confusion, but she had been curious about how they lived with no plants. No animals to hunt. She wasn't going to ask of it right now, as she was still working on the things she needed to know now, before she worked on learning about what they used to be like. Stepping a step closer to where he was, she looked down at the keys while he explained what it was, but Echo didn't care.
Clearly this wasn't a weapon, and she was trying to figure him out more then this music maker. Looking at him she studied his face while trying to understand which man was predominate in him. The longer he was here, the more it seemed the other. She wasn't sure about who that man valued, what he valued. Did he see her as a weakness too? She wanted to feel close to him, but she wasn't sure how to breach this space between them. Which often left her feeling angry, because warriors were not supposed to feel this. They were supposed to be strong and sure--defiant if needed. Obeying when needed. Words didn't come easy to her now, and she wished she knew what was in his head so she could do something! Just standing here made her feel as if she'd go mad. "It's different then drumbs." Softer. "There is much different here."
