Monty loved working on the Outpost. He had volunteered countless times, needing to get away from Camp Jaha as often as possible. He had his personal mission of being there for Bellamy, a mission that had been given to him to a certain extent, but he also understood how someone had to walk away. He used turning Mecha Station into a running Outpost as the perfect excuse to get out for a few days. Monty was just unpacking things on his bunk again, when he heard someone come in. On the way to former Mecha Station, Monty had kept to himself, once more collecting plants, if he saw some useful ones, intending to examine them in his free time. Now he really had time to take stock of who was there. As he turned, he saw Raven. They were probably the two youngest ones, so they had to stay together in this quarters, not that he minded.
“Hey Raven.” He greeted, trying to sound as casual as possible, despite wanting to blend in with the wall. He wasn’t dealing with everything very well, but he could pretend. “How are you? I didn’t notice you on the walk here.” To be fair he didn’t notice anyone but plants, so to get his attention one had to have been green. Monty started placing the plants to the window – the reason why he wanted those quarters. “Have they briefed you on what we need to do this time?”

Raven had almost completely healed physically. Well, as much as she was ever going to. And to the outside world she seemed about as okay as everyone else. But she wasn’t okay, none of them were after everything they’d been through. Everything they did to survive. Only Wick could really see through the act, but he had the good sense not to pry too much. So she kept herself busy, helping out whenever she could. Not so much with any physical stuff, not since her leg, but if anything needed fixing, she was the girl to do it. Naturally she jumped at the chance to help turn Mecha Station into the Outpost. It was familiar to her, and reminded her of a time before all hell broke loose after arriving on the ground.
On her way to the old station, she felt excited. A feeling that was so rare these days it almost felt foreign to her. As she made her way into the quarters she was assigned, she saw Monty and smiled as he greeted her. “I didn’t notice you on the walk here.” She gestured towards her leg in the brace. “I took me a little while to catch up with you,” she said with a slight chuckle, attempting a sort of joke to ease the mood. Since they were sharing this space, they were going to be seeing a lot of each other. “Have they briefed you on what we need to do this time?” She didn’t know much but she was eager and willing to learn. “Not really. I didn’t give them much of chance to.” As soon as she heard they were setting up the outpost she immediately volunteered. “Needed to get out of Camp, you know? You could brief me,” she said, saying it as more of a statement than question.
