whatever THE HELL WE WANT The plan hadn't been overly elaborate, but it was the best Bellamy could do considering the limited numbers they had. The Grounder was still dragging Finn along, as they had already lost the other. He had Sterling and Monroe, and he had told them to charge at the specified time. But they didn't. It had left Bellamy there, vulernable, and lessened the chance of getting Finn free and saving whomever he could . . . especially his daughter. He had no idea where the others were. When that explosion hit, he, Finn and whoever else was left outside had made a mad run for it. So he needed to collect whoever he could, Finn included, and get back to the drop ship and make sure Arria and the others were alright.
But Tristan may add Bellamy to the list of casualities of war. He beat him senseless before tying him up and dragging him along with Finn. He knew full well where they were going: to the Commander. To be questioned, aka tortured. But they still had time to find a way out of this. They had to. Finn informed Bellamy not to fall to the ground, because Tristan would kill him, so it took Bellamy whatever little strength he had left to remain on his feet. Suddenly Monroe and Sterling came charging out of the bushes, which provided them with the necessary distaction. But things took another unexpected turn. Gun shots. Bellamy instinctively went to the ground, having no idea who was shooting, but whoever it was . . . had impeccable aim.
One in the chest; one in the head. It wasn't a delinquent. When the others stepped out into the clearing, Bellamy looked at none other than Braeden Quinn. He felt numb with shock, not even able to move from his current reaction to the gunshots. He just stared at her. Part of him had been so afraid that she was on the Exodus ship that had crashed. The other part of him didn't want to believe it . . . and held on to that dangerous hope. Yet, here she was. Right here, in front of him now. He managed to stagger himself to his feet, wondering if he had actually gotten to the point of hallucinating. Was it really her? Was she really here?

Her whole body hurt. When the Ark crash landed, it had hurt, but the pain was a motivator for her. She was alive. The guard was also short staffed, so when she 'asked' Marcus about going he allowed it. She wasn't in charge of the mission, but she was going! He would be going, but there was so much to do on the ground that he stayed. Braeden left her son in the car of Marcus--and also Wick--before moving out with the guard.
The last they had heard from the team on the ground, was they were in hostile territory, but safe. Unity Day--her daughter and husband had been safe! Bellamy even pardoned for his efforts in keeping the kids alive! Now as they approached she felt an egarness that made her grow irritated at their slowness! Which apparently was a good thing. Had they been any faster, or any slower then they would have missed the sounds of a fight. 'Hold your fire' the order was given as they approached but once there she wasn't about to obey. She knew who was there on the ground, and she didn't know who was running at him! She took two shots. The first to stop whomever it was in his tracked, and the second to make sure there was no getting back up.
She began moving forward, slow at first as she looked around for her daughter but then she ran toward him. Her gun dropped from her hands and the belt around it kept it from hitting the ground. Her hands moved up to his blood soaked face but she was afraid to touch him as she didn't know who's blood it was! "Bellamy?!" She cried his name, not even realizing she was crying! Was it his? Where was he hurt? Her hands dropped to encircle his ribs, as she hugged him to her. He was alive! And able to stand and right now she was only grateful!
And afraid! If he looked like this then . . . "Where is she?" She asked, her face against his cheat before she pulled back to look up at him once more. "Were is our daughter?"

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Her voice. Her near touch. It made it all the more real. It made him feel like this wasn't a hallucination. That she was truly here. All he could do was stare at her. He saw the tears form in her eyes, and he felt numb from the overwhelming emotion. It wasn't until she she hugged him that he could let them release. His remained still before the shock finally subsided, allowing him to react. He wrapped his arms around her and held her to him, closing his eyes, basking in the warmth of his wife's embrace. She was here. She was alive. She was safe -- ish. The Ground was not a safe place, but it was still better than the dying Ark. They had a chance here. Hope.
She then asked where she was, and he of course knew who she was talking about. Their daughter. She pulled her head back to look at him, asking the question in a more detailed way. "She's in the drop ship," he informed her. Last place he had seen her. She was the last face he saw as the doors closed and she was being ushered to the back of the ship. "Amaren?" He asked, needing to know if their son was ok. If he had survived the landing. If he was uninjured. Nothing on Braeden's own expression indicated the brokenness of losing a child . . . so he was hopeful that Amaren was alright. But still, needed to hear it. He kept his arms around her, looking at her and allowing the emotion to reveal itself through his eyes, where he had fought every day here on Earth to keep his emotions guarded . . . knowing that he couldn't allow them to slip.

His arms stayed around her, and she was grateful to feel his touch! Even more so since he looked like he'd been through hell. "She's in the drop ship," Bellamy sounded sure, and it eased her mind to hear his tone. Their daughter was safe! Why was he not with her? Why was he so far from it? The last they had heard was that they were safe, but on dangerous ground. This looked more like bloodshed than dangerous ground. "Amaren?" She nodded her head slightly. "He is with your father." She assured him, and gave him a moment before she continued, one of her hands leaving his ribs to come up and rest over his chest. "Chancellor Kane would have come looking for you himself, but he was needed there."
That was her way of telling him about his father's 'promotion' as well as why he wasn't here. She wanted her daughter in her arms, but she knew he needed to know his family was alright. Reaching behind her she pulled one of the two hand guns from her pants, and handed it too him. If things were as bad as this he might need it. Behind her she hear Shumway protest. 'He is no longer a member of the guard and only guards get guns.' She looked back at him with a glare, but didn't move to take the gun from Bellamy. When she did look back at her husband she ignored Shumway's order. Let him take it up with her father-in-law. "Take me to my daughter, and then lets get back to our son." Shumway could file a complaint then, because she was a civilian not one of his guards.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy felt a wave of relief wash over him when she assured him that Amaren was with his parents. It meant that they were all safe. Or well, alive. The Ground was hardly safe, especially with the threat of Grounders still among them. He also noticed the title she used: Chancellor. Jaha had not made it then? He was not here? Or had he merely been dismissed of his rank? Bellamy would ask later. Right now, he needed to get to the others. To his daughter. He took the gun that Braeden offered him, ignoring Shumway's protests.
This was the kind of weapon he was most comfortable with and was grateful for the security it provided. "Whoever needs to go back to the camp, go. Those of you who want to come to the dropship, follow me." He didn't care if he was not a guardsman anymore. And he cared even less that Shumway was the authority figure here. Bellamy cared only about one thing: getting to the others . . . getting to Arria.
Not waiting to see who would come and who wouldn't, Bellamy started to move toward the direction of the drop ship, walking alongside his wife. Finn was coming, and Bellamy could hear Shumway giving orders to those who were heading back. He had to suppress an eyeroll as he heard Shumway and a few others start to follow them. "They use the trees. Keep on high alert from all directions," he further instructed, without shifting his gaze from where it was focused: ahead.

"Whoever needs to go back to the camp, go. Those of you who want to come to the dropship, follow me." Bellamy ordered, and Braeden had to suppress a smile--one of the first she had of late--when she noticed how many seemed to follow his orders rather then Shumways. They were just ready to follow him. Falling into step beside him, Braeden moved her gun to the front of her, and at ready. "They use the trees. Keep on high alert from all directions," Her eyes moved up them, and she wondered what sort of men they were.
'By the time they climb down we will have noticed them.' Shumway commented. 'If you wouldn't have pissed them off, we could have come down here in peace.' The group of men that were going with them to the dropship was a mix of the few who would follow Bellamy, and the few who would follow Shumway. She didn't want this to be a fight. "If you'd read the report you'd know they'd tired to kill one of the kids on the first day here." She said, trying to keep them moving. However, it did bring up a question. She looked at her husband. "Last communication we had with you, things were tense, but this looked more then tense. What happened?" She knew he would have tried to make peace, and this wasn't his doing, but she wanted to know how it escalated.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy suppressed an eye roll at Shumway's remark of having noticed them by the time they climbed down the trees. Idiot thought they climbed down the trees. How precious. Bellamy further bit his tongue when Shumway accused him of pissing them off. He wasn't about to get into a debate with the moron when there was much more to be concerned with. Like staying alive for instance. He did feel a wave of gratitude when Braeden spoke of the report.
Clearly, Shumway ignored what was relevant and made his own assumptions. It was why he wasn't going to last down here very long if he kept that up. Bellamy continued to remain silent until his wife asked what had happened, as the last time they had spoken things had been tense. What had happened. Now that, was a long story. One that he wasn't going to overly get into now. "A war happened," he told her, trying to stay focused rather than dwell on the last bits he saw before he was forced to flee the camp. He didn't want to worry Braeden, but at the same time, he couldn't lie to her.
"We tried to fight them off as best we could. A bunch of the delinquents used the Dropship for shelter before setting off an explosion that killed hundreds of the Grounders." It had been the plan, and one that seemed to work. "Out of those who were outside the dropship, I only met up with Finn," Bellamy began to introduce, using his head to motion to where Finn was walking. "Monroe, and Sterling," he finished, motioning to the other two who were walking a little behind them. Bellamy paused after his explanation needing to know more about the landing. "How many survived the landing?" He inquired, hoping it was the majority but luck and fortune didn't seem to be something often on their side.

"A war happened," Be explained, "We tried to fight them off as best we could. A bunch of the delinquents used the Dropship for shelter before setting off an explosion that killed hundreds of the Grounders." Hundreds?! Braeden tried to take in the numbers that he was talking about. She could aimgine that many people with ease, but that many soldiers going after kids? She knew they might not have survived had he not come down here. It made her want to hold her daughter even more. "Out of those who were outside the dropship, I only met up with Finn," She looked over at him and knew who he was. He'd taken a walk in space and taken a month away from the Ark. "Monroe, and Sterling," The other two she had not known.
He asked about the landing, then. "How many survived the landing?" That was hard to answer for it involved more then just the filling in. "Not sure yet. The Ark broke apart upon entry, and we haven't made contact with the other stations yet. Nor done a head count for ours." But she knew the numbers would be much smaller then he anticipated. "Most of the population died when the Ark lost power." She explained, trying not to think about it, and only say the words, since she had lost her parents in it as well. "A team of rebels hijacked the Exodus ship, and disengaged before disconnecting from the Ark. We were without full power for two days." Which is why most either had no air, or heat, and it killed them. This wasn't the time to morn the fallen. This was a time to make sure the ones who were alive, stayed alive! They could afford no more lives lost--and the life she was working on right now was her daughters.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy listened attentively to Braeden explain how many survivors there had been. The other stations had yet to be found, and Bellamy desperately hoped that they would all reconvene before the Grounders got a hold of any of the other fallen stations. They wouldn't be anything but hostile toward them. He felt his heart ache at hearing the severe hit everyone took when the Ark lost power. It made him feel all the more relieved to know that his family had made it. And all the more guilty that he couldn't even protect their daughter fully.
"We saw the crash site of the Exodus ship," Bellamy began to explain. "No one survived. Who was on it?" He didn't know who had been on it. They had assumed Clarke's mother was, but . . . perhaps they were wrong. "Who else survived your station's landing?" He asked. He nekw these were the questions that had to be asked. Part of him just wanted to hold her and bask in the relief that she was safe. But the other part of him, the one that was Kane's son, was fully aware of how time was of the essence, and they needed to know as much as they could about the other person's sitaution. Besides, they were not far from the drop ship. Their time would be even more limited after that.
