Marcus paused outside the cell in the Skybox and looked around. Within an hour this place would be raided and emptied. He knew it, and Cass knew it too. She had not be arrested long, but with her knowledge Jaha would not pardon her. Marcus had asked, and he hated that he had to do it. Marcus hated asking for things. He hated breaking the rules. He hated that she couldn't have kept things alone. His fist tightened over the jacket in his hands, and he took a deep breath before punching in the code and walking into the cell and his eyes finding cassandra. No one was getting to say goodbye to their families, but he knew Abby Griffin would be seeking out her daughter, and he figured Callie would be here soon enough. This was his moment. "Cass," He greeted, standing there. He disapproved of a lot about her, but apart of him had come to love her. She could have done something great with her life if she had managed to curve her rebellious nature. He didn't like saying goodbye, but he managed to remain stoic and impassive while standing there. He knew that he had to make sure she was ready for this, and he only had a few moments to do it.

The time was drawing near. Cas knew what she was in for even if no one else did. In fact, she was here precisely because she knew. She’d learned something that was supposed to be kept hidden at all costs. All the juvies were being downgraded to guinea pigs for whatever reason. Someone somewhere must be pretty desperate if they were willing to sacrifice all the troubled youth on this fool expedition. Well..For her sake, she certainly hoped it wasn’t as fool an errand as it sounded! But..The radiation..It was still supposed to be toxic enough to kill any human inhabitants! Well, in this case, curiosity just might have killed the cat. She’d dug her grave. Now it was time to lay in it. Complaining would get her nowhere. And it wasn’t like she could really vent even if she wanted to. She was under strict orders to be kept in complete isolation. Couldn’t have her go tipping off any of her fellow inmates. Because at the moment, they were still allowed visitors. Of course...That was going to end very soon. But no one should be the wiser. Should be...Then there was her. That’s why she was locked up alone. Someone came by every now and again to give her food and water. They didn’t talk to her. She’d tried to engage them in conversation. All attempts had ended in bitter failures. They treated her like she was some damn untouchable or something! Yes...Well nothing for it now. She was heading to Earth whether she liked it or not. Attitude was everything. Here, it really was best to keep a positive one. Think of the thrill, the adventure! Don’t think of it as a death sentence. She didn’t know for sure that it was one. She would be the first human to set foot on their homeland in centuries! C’mon! That was pretty damn cool! In the mean time...She was just trying not to lose her mind, being kept in isolation like this. There was nothing she hated more than being caged. She was a free spirit, filled to the brim with wanderlust. Roaming was kind of her thing. And now...Six strides could cover her cell in any direction. Yeah...She was trying to keep busy with exercises and gymnastics. There wasn’t much else she could do. Her ears perked up when she heard the beep of a code being imputed. She doubted this person would talk to her either but... “Pops!” she cried out, both startled and pleased. He was the last person she would have expected to see. Pops was very much a by the books man. And she’d broken the rules, rather horribly to her detriment. Here he was..another human, her father at that (by closeness if not by blood). She was so happy she could actually cry. It was amazing..How much one could come to miss a human voice. She’d been keeping track of the days, marking them on the wall. Maybe it was silly; but, she hadn’t wanted to lose touch with time. She’d been here for 3 weeks and 5 days. All that time in solitary.. Her name...She would have sworn it was the most beautiful sound ever birthed. She just wanted to run to Pops and fling her arms around him. But of course..That just wasn’t her. “What brings you here?” she asked as casually as she was able. But she knew her eyes were too bright. And they burned...But she wouldn’t cry! She wouldn’t! Marcus Kane

Marcus made his career out of being able to read people, and know them. He could read her no differently. He knew she was putting up a brave front. She was always so stubborn. While he hated being called Pops, he knew that he would miss her, and worry about her endlessly. He had no children, but he had been in her life long enough that he had a strong hand in raising her. Maybe not strong enough. Maybe that was why she was here. "Don't play coy, Cass. You know I am here to see you." He told her, moving closer to her. "You know what is coming. I came to make sure you were ready."
Marcus didn't think this was going to work. He thought Earth wasn't ready but he was praying, for her sake, that it was. That in a month's time they could join her down there and save the people. It was a fleating hope, but he would try to have it for her. Holding out the jacket he held it up so she could slip her arms through the wholes. "It might be cold down there. This will help you stay warm."
