It were valid concerns, though she was surprised there seemed so much distrust still. Were there still so many problems between Arkers and Grounders? Had they just kept it away from her because they needed her healing abilities? She wouldn’t put it past them, it was a perfectly valid explanation. But for now, here, it was not a question she could or wanted to answer. For now she just wanted to heal her friend and get her ready to go home. For that the brace needed to work again, but the best person to repair it was already here, so there would be no problem in that. Maybe they would have to sneak away at night, but that was no problem either. There were no guard in front of Clarkes door. They needed a plan eventually
“You don’t happen to have a way to contact Camp Jaha, do you?” She asked as casually as she could. She wanted to know all about the home she left behind, but a radio might make them going home a bit easier and helping her. And maybe it gave her one last chance to see if she could come home or not. For now the plan was to come home with Raven. “Tell me about it, please.” Clarke asked her. She sat down on a chair close to Raven, reached for her hand as she looked at her friend. “What is it like and… how would anyone still want me there? I left. I left them alone when I should have been there for you guys. How is everyone?”

Raven could see her words struck a chord, the casual tone Clarke was forcing couldn’t fool her. It brought a smile to her face, seeing just how much Clarke had missed them all, her home. Maybe just as much as they missed her. She gave herself away as she pulled up a seat next to Raven, the true extent of how much she missed them evident on her face. “Well, you’re coming with me, so you’ll see it all yourself,” she teased. Taking any opportunity she could to make that fact very clear. “But if you must know,” Raven squeezed her hands before continuing.
“It’s called Arkadia now, not Camp Jaha.” Since Jaha was alive and had left them to find that fictional city of light, it was about time they stopped commemorating a dead man that wasn’t actually dead. “And it’s bigger, way bigger. You wouldn’t even recognise it now.” They’d all worked hard to expand the camp, and truly make it a settlement, a home. “The second you walk into camp all that stuff will be forgotten, everyone is going to be so glad to see you.” A smile spread across her face as she imagined coming back, not just safe, but with Clarke in tow. “Especially Bellamy,” she added with a knowing smile. The man was proud, but when it came to Clarke, she knew the joy of seeing her back where she belonged would greatly outweigh the burden he was forced to carry after she left. Clarke really didn’t need to worry about that right now, her return would be the most important thing. “We all want you back Clarke, you have to know that.”

They had changed the name of it. Good. Camp Jaha, the name, was tainted with pain. Changing the name was a good thing. Arkadia had a ring to it, a beautiful one. They had clearly moved on. They were healing, it resonated in the way they changed the name, in the way Raven described it as bigger, so big, that she would not recognize it. Maybe that was a good thing. She had not been able to go I back in the day. Would she be able to now? And how? How would she manage to step inside? Maybe she had healed, but she guessed she had just suppressed it.
“I hope you’re right.” Not that everyone would be glad to see her, but that things would be forgotten. Part of her took it for granted, she knew, but another part knew, that she had hurt people. And she had to make up for what she had done. She just did not know how. How did one make up for that? She didn’t know. She wanted everything to work, but she knew it probably wouldn’t. She wasn’t healed and she didn’t know about the others. What if she made it worse? What if she was too much, the tears in her being too much? What if she could not be healed? She was incapable of healing herself.
“I wish I could know that, Raven. But I don’t.” She wanted to be honest with her friend. “Bellamy wouldn’t let me carry that burden alone. I would have pulled the lever to irradiate the mountain myself, but he put his hand on mine. He wouldn’t let me do it alone. And I left. I left him. I left all of you. I’m not proud of it, Raven. I ran. I’m a coward.” With a sigh Clarke leaned back. “I couldn’t outrun the nightmares.”

She could already imagine it happening. The smiles on people’s faces, the reunions, the happiness that would spread the moment Clarke walked through those gates. And soon all that would be a reality. She was an integral part of their community, a leader, hell she saved them all in more ways than one. Her loss was felt by everyone, just as her return would be. Raven didn’t doubt that for a second, and soon Clarke would feel the same way. Either that or she’d just have to see it for herself when she inevitably returned to camp.
Raven strained to sit up and lean forward, moving her legs out of the way to allow space for Clarke to sit on the bed, motioning for her to join Raven as she groaned at the movements. Holding Clarke hands in her own she paused for a moment. “Look at me Clarke, you may be a lot of things but you’re no coward.” She had flaws that was for sure, but one thing Raven was sure of was her bravery. “What you did…it’s one of the bravest acts I’ve ever, and probably will ever see.” Her mention of nightmares hit her hard. Something they had in common. “I know, if we’re together we can stop those nightmares from ruling our lives.” Not completely, but at least keep them at bay. With every word Raven felt her vulnerability showing, revealing just how desperately she’d missed Clarke and needed her to return home. "I promise...I'll help you fight them, we all will."

Sitting next to Raven, things were almost like they were in the beginning, a little closer than before, but she was not about to complain about that. For Clarke the situation was surreal. She felt hope, hope to be able to come home. Here she served a purpose, while she still did the same in Arkadia, the people there actually cared about her. They wanted her safety and had she not run, she would have had their support through all of this, Montys, Bellamy, Ravens. Naturally not everyone was going to, but they were more than enough, they were everything. Clarke nodded, moving to hug Raven gently.
“We will, but first you need to get better.” She needed to get warm and she needed to survive this. Clarke was too aware of the dangers. On top of her being cold, the cold blood could cause damage inside Raven. She did not want to let that happen, not to mention sicknesses like a cold, up to full blown pneumonia. She would have to be really careful and she would have to stay in to take care of her and make sure she survived. “First of all you have to get better. And then we have to get out of here.” That meant she would have to fix her brace somehow. “You need to fix your brace. What do you need for that?”

Clarke was right of course. Raven would be no use to her in the state she was in. There was no way she could make it all the way back to Arkadia in one piece without getting seriously ill or worse. She shuddered at the thought. Another cough shook through her as if affirming Clarke’s statement. She needed to get better that was certain, but Raven had never been very good with doctors and general medical care. Hell she drove Abby insane, hopefully her daughter would fare better. Raven was stubborn and impatient, but she’d just have to suck it up. The sooner she was well the sooner she could get the hell out of here and take Clarke with her. “I’ll trust you with that doc,” she said with a small smile.
Her brace. She’d almost completely forgotten about that. The general aches and pains plaguing her body, masked the acute pain she usually suffered in her hip. “I’ll need to see it to really assess the damage.” Hopefully it wasn’t too bad. Maybe she’d get lucky. It was rare but Clarke finding her out in the cold had to be some kind of god damn miracle. Why not two? “Hand it over here,” she asked. “Right off the bat, I’m probably going to need some tools, a screwdriver at least, or anything like it.” If all the pieces were still there all she’d have to do is put them back together. Piece of cake. “Think your grounder buddies can handle that?” Raven couldn’t help a little smirk from appearing on her face at the light tease. It was almost like before Clarke had left them. Like nothing had changed. But of course that wasn’t true. Everything had changed.

“I’m pretty sure they could find me a screwdriver actually.” Clarke replied. She smirked at Raven. “I’m also pretty sure they would have no idea what the fuck it is and why it could possibly be useful to someone.” And it was to them. Technology had take a step back with Grounders. It was almost laughable in so many ways. They were able to hammer stuff back together and that was it. Well she didn’t care. Clarke was here for the healing and the peace she could find with the village for at least a short time.
“Imagine it. They’d use it as hammer and let the hammer hang as decoration.” Well not actually. They liked to use actual hammers. They made some themselves, but Raven probably got the joke Clarke was trying to make there. It was better that way. Clarke reached out. She softly ran her hand through Ravens hair, hoping to comfort her, hoping she’d be okay. They would find a way to get her back to their home. They would – she would even come with her, reluctantly, but she would. It was not like she had much of a choice. This place, her mother, they were her home and eventually even she had to return home.
