.:Personality: Aspen is cold and closed off, not because of choice but because that’s how she was raised. She generally doesn’t let very many people see the weak and vulnerable side of her. Though she does not have the blood of the Commander, she wishes she could and aspires to be an archer assassin one day. Though, with that, her father often reminds her that she must remain calm and collected, even in high stress situations, which has led to her bottling things up instead.

Aspen was born into a smaller family, they believed in quality over quantity. So, Aspen and her older brother were raised to be just like their mother and father. As teens they met in the guard but soon fell in love. It was a generic love story about how the man began to take over and the wife stayed home with the kids. It was endearing, especially for Aspen’s older brother who was much softer than she, but the girl had dreams that differed from her brother’s. All the little girl wanted to do from a young age was learn to shoot her bow and arrow to protect the commander.



The structure she had from a young age helped fuel her fire. Her family was brought to Polis and Tondc very often, often enough that Aspen knew and admired the kids that had been selected to take part in the Conclave. This sparked a lot of jealous and settled resentment in such a small frame, but she still kept her eyes on her goal with the help of her father. He promised her that although she wasn’t Nightblood, she could still be in the army if she desired.



Aspen was forced to be content with settling, knowing that she’ll never be a commander.



When her father went away for the war against the Azgeda, the night before he left he pulled her aside. He told her that he was going to war again, it was now her job to take care of her mother and brother due to her fighting spirit. Aspen promised him that she’d do her best. Alas, he never came home.
