you won't see me fall apart | 'Cause I've got an elastic heart | TAGGED
| The medical bay was filled with new and old faces, some Mel knew from the Ark, others were strangers to her. The important thing was that they had their people back from Mount Weather... it was no small victory. Mel had been healing and only hearing the bare minimum when it came to updates. She’d been discharged after the rush of Mount Weather victims were brought to Medical to be cared for, but she could have been discharged sooner. A broken arm, cracked ribs and scrapes and bruises didn’t need constant medical attention, but Abby and those supervising her were concerned for her mental state. It was natural... after everything that had happened. She’d barely been able to sleep without seeing flashes or smelling the burning... it was rough, but she was getting better. Now though, as she packed up what little she had, she couldn’t help listening to gossip.
The survivors talked about the death they had returned from... the entire mountain was bathed in radiation, killing everyone inside. The names dropped were familiar; catalysts in the story on the ground. Bellamy and Clarke. From what she could tell, they had killed everyone inside to save their people... it didn’t sound like there was much of a choice for it either. People were in rough shape. Some were barely even alive when they were brought in, and from what she understood that was their intention for all of them, all along. Even those in Arkadia. Clarke and Bellamy had saved them all... it seemed to be a running theme... but the weight of that choice had to be crippling.
With her arm in a sling, she made her way across the camp in search of the duo. She didn’t know Clarke had left... she didn’t even know what she was going to say when she saw them. She could only thank Bellamy so many times for saving her. Now they had saved them all... Finding them was more difficult than she anticipated, though. When she heard that Clarke had left, finding Bellamy became a priority—but with so many people it was difficult. She decided to wait near medical... Bellamy was a great guy. He seemed like the type who would check in on others, and not just because he had with her. She needed to make sure that he was okay, for once... From what little she’d seen, it didn’t seem like he took much care of himself. He always seemed to put others first, and though it was admirable, it had to be draining. Painful, even... When she did see him, her dark brown eyes lit up—relieved that she’d chosen the right place to scout...
“Bell!” She called a little hoarsely. Her taped ribs were a little painful, but she was handling it. “Bellamy.... are you okay?” it was such a stupid question. It was one she had been asked a million times and one that could never actually come with an honest answer. She silently cursed herself for asking like that...

| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ | .:Name:. Mel June Grey .:Nick Name:. None .:Affiliation:. Arkadia .:Age:. Eighteen | ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ | .:Physical Appearance:. Mel is a slight woman with tanned skin and long black hair. Though she enjoys keeping it down, when she works she keeps her hair tied back in a tight ponytail or a braid to keep it out of her face. Her dark eyes are framed by thick and long eyelashes that some have envied as she's grown up. Though she's never been exceptionally attractive by any means, her naturally long lashes and brown eyes have always gotten her quite a bit of attention from others. Her lips are a few shades darker than her skin with a defined cupids bow and a soft pout while her nose is rather straight without much curve. Her face is long and oval shaped, with long features to match. Her style takes a back seat to utility and always has, as she was raised to be a worker. .:Height:. 5'5" .:Portrayed by:. Tanaya Beatty | ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ | .:Personality:. She is determined to get things done, and some people think this makes her stubborn. In fact, it probably does. When Mel gets her mind set on something, nothing can get into her way. She's helpful, resourceful and always looking out for others and what they may need. Sometimes she can be short, especially when she's focused on a specific task. It's a trait inherited from her father, but her apologetic nature soon follows any outburst especially among friends or more softhearted strangers. The last thing Mel wants to do is upset anyone. Sometimes, she can get so caught up in her own head that she needs her friends to pull her out of it, especially now while she is trying to make up for all those who were lost in Factory Station. She doesn't want to be a burden and tries her best to work for her place. Working hard fights off the heaps of survivors guilt that she is inevitably plagued with. If she could trade places with any of those who were lost she would... though her near death experience has also given her a new outlook and appreciation for life. .:Special Skills:. Mel may not be the most book smart Arker on the ground, but she does know how to be useful in other ways. On the Ark, she was a factory worker who spent each day making the same gadgets and gizmos day in and day out. It's given her a very quick work ethic, quick hands and the ability to learn just as fast. She catches onto tasks far quicker than most and completes them well. It's not the greatest skill set, but it is useful, and that's what she prides herself on being. | ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ | .:Birthplace:. The Ark .:Family:. Mel's mother passed away after giving birth to her, and she was raised by her father who died in the Factory Station landing. .:Occupation:. Laborer .:History:. When Mel was born, her mother didn't make it. She was meant to be the beginning of a family, but instead her birth broke the family apart. Her father, though heartbroken, never showed her any resentment. He raised her like a blessing. Though he lost his wife, he was able to keep a part of her through Mel. He was always so protective, especially of boys as she grew up. He made sure that she went to school and that she kept her grades up... it was his plan to have her attend school until she was eighteen, unlike so many in Factory Station. However, they needed more laborers and Mel hated seeing her father working so much to make up for the gap. She left school when she was sixteen to work with him on the factory lines and made quick progress as a worker. It was more rewarding than school had ever been. When they found out that the earth was inhabitable, Mel didn't have much hope for their survival. Truth be told she had come to terms with the idea of death the moment the stations broke apart... but then they landed. It was a rough landing... when the station hit the ground it tore apart, leaving people stranded and thrown across the earth. Somehow, her belt held... She survived when nobody else did... Maimed and trapped, she didn't believe that she was going to make it but then she was saved. She's lost so much, but is desperate to make her time on earth count. A fresh start; a new opportunity, thanks to the delinquents and Bellamy Blake. She'll never forget that. | ~ • ~ | Member Info | ~ • ~ | .:Name or Online Alias:. Amber .:How Did You Find Us:.
