Annika had been one of many to be taken. She was exhausted, tired of being where she was. They didn't feed her, nor any of the others in the cages enough. Though there was one girl in particular in a cage next to her. She was one of the ones that Bellamy had in his militia before. Her name was Harper. She was also a delinquent like she herself. And she didn't look good.
When they had tossed her in, the first thing she thought was hope. Then she saw her not really move and she felt doubt set in. They were doing something to them. Something horribly wrong. She'd look at the girl through the cage. Harper? What did they do to you? She'd ask, her voice hoarse from lack of water and speech.

She had just gotten back when she went into the center of camp. She had some berries she had found, unsure if they were poisonous or not, and she had water. She put the water down and kept the berries, waiting for a moment to find someone who would know what they were. Then she'd go to the 'school'. Everything was crazy at the moment and any moment she could get to herself was welcomed. She thought that the school would be a great place for that moment. Though the teacher was there. She stopped when she heard the voice asked her to come in. She smiled at him and nodded. He had a kid on his hips and there were others there too. Do you need help? She'd ask him. She reached her hands out to take the kid from him. She'd balance him on her side, more so on her hips, and start lifting him up and down. Almost like rocking a baby. He'd smile and she'd turn back to him. I can watch some of the younger ones for you? She'd offer him. She needed a break from all the running around. Plus, little kids were always interesting. A snort could be heard to what the woman said. Then she cut herself with her own arrow. She raised an eye when she saw the blood well up. Maybe it was custom? She honestly hadn't a clue. As for the grudge, they had that in common. But systematically killing her people, well half the time she'd love to do that to them too. When she smiled at her, she nodded. She understood. Most all of the grounders had nasty tempers, it was just something they must of had to have learned. Then came the spying tips. Stomping around and breaking twigs seemed like an appropriate thing to say about them. It was true. It made her remember what had happened at the hunt trip with Bellamy. She was actually the reason why they hadn't brought back dinner. She nodded at her words of having more dinner. They all needed that in life. They were really freaking hungry anyway. "Thanks for the tips." She felt it was appropriate since she had told her that they others would try to, like, kill her. Though that was common sense. Or maybe it was because she was being nice? Whatever the reason, she was happy that she wasn't trying to kill her. Isa

Chapter Two
The first thing that had popped to me was outside. I hadn't really seen anything since mom and dad drive so fast right? Well....the nice way to say it was our nice neighborhood, well used to be, now looked like the hood. My mouth literally dropped when I saw this. I looked back at the door to see what mom would say. Oh right! I was grounded. I sat on the bed like thing at my windowsill and looked.
The reasoning behind why i sat there was because i was trying to figure out what had happened. What had happened that was severe enough to make our expensive neighborhood turn into what it was now? I turned to my tv and grabbed the remote off of the bed and flicked it on. Then i layed back and flicked through the channels.
One thing that popped out that seemed important enough to say was that there was lots of problems everywhere. Like, I'm not even kidding. One: The United States Economy had dropped like 46% while i was out those two months. That was like, basically unheard of. I guess that was why my neighborhood turned out to be how it was now.
Two: Natural disasters were happening left and right. Hawaii had a tsunami. Like dude, since when did tsunami's happen in Hawaii? I looked at the TV like it was the stupidest thing on earth, a look i quite usually reserved for my mom when she tried to be 'hip'.
I rolled over to my nightstand and picked up my phone. I was so bored and I hadn't even been in my room for a whole thirty minutes. Well, that was life saying "Hey! Welcome back to the real world instead of space and start doing something with your life!". The irony huh?
Now, the good thing about having my phone in my room? I could call or text my friends anytime it pleased me. And that very well was what I did. I called Sarah and Brycen, telling them to pick up Emily on the way. Then I set to getting my stuff straight. I did after all miss a whole lot of things. No doubt, they had a lot of drama to tell me about. ---
As I had guessed, I had guessed quite right. Well, the first thing they did was run up the stairs without even telling my mother hi. That ticked her right off her rockers man, no kidding. She came up the stairs and yelled at us and then left. Nothing too severe. However, my friends basically smashed me under them with hugs. By the time i could finally breath again, I was starting to rethink having them come here.
However, that all changed when they started to talk. I missed out on a fight between two football players. They both got suspended and kicked off the team. Oh joy! Some boyfriend x girlfriend drama that I could always go without. Sarah's new boyfriend. Then her next new boyfriend. Brycen spraining her ankle at cheer practice and having to go without cheering for two whole weeks. The little things that I had missed.
Then they came out about the new kid. They said he was weird and never talked to anyone. What they thought that was weirder about him was the fact that he had known who I was the night I had gone to the hospital. How was that possible? I looked at them incredulously and then rolled my eyes. They had to be kidding right? Though their expressions said they weren't, she knew them. They were good at playing pranks on her. Well, she'd find out tomorrow who this dude was and how he knew about her.
Standing up, she stretched and looked at her three friends sitting around the room. She smiled at each of them in turn and started to speak.
"Okay, first things first, we need to plan what I'm gonna wear tomorrow. It's gotta be something nice and what not. Gotta blow their minds I'm alive and still kicking. Plus that I'm still the same me and human." I said as my other friends rolled their eyes at me and laughed along. Well, at least they were genuine laughs.
Next thing I knew, they were throwing my clothes all over the place. Finally they came out with a pair of jeans, a blouse, a jean jacket and boots that were like leather and went up to my mid-shin. I smiled and thanked them. Then Emily's phone went off and she said it was her mother saying she needed to come home for dinner.
We all hugged and they left. I had no clue what to do now. It was ten o'clock at night. The only thing I wondered was why was Emily's family having dinner so dang late? Well, it didn't matter anyway. I went and took a shower and then went to bed. Tomorrow was going to be an interesting day was the feeling I had as I fell asleep. ---
Buses have become a no. I mean, I had always hated it before but now it was just out of control. All the little kids were throwing orange peelings at me and the other high schoolers and banana peelings. It was gross. Then the middle schoolers were still in-between mature and...grad schoolers. The high schoolers were fine. Just they had their minds blown to the fact that I was sitting there, living and breathing. They all stared at me and freaked me out. It got to the point where i had to turn around and yell at them.
"Do I look like an exhibition at the museum?" I had asked them. They all looked down and after that I felt like I could breath again.
The time it took to get to the high school was way too long. When we finally strolled up there, I felt free from the choking atmosphere of the bus. And then the bell rang. What a nice first day huh? I raced to get to the steps and slide through the door in time. After I got through, I heard it click shut. Then the teacher counted who was late and they got detention. Well that wasn't very fair huh?
The other thing that wasn't fair was the fact that I had no clue where I was going. I had a new schedule and I've never even heard of the E wing. Like what in the world was that supposed to be. So I strolled into the office. They yelled at me for not being in class. I gave them a look that said they were the dumbest people in the world. Then I told them I was the chick who had been in the coma for two months. Then it registered in their heads. 'Yep that's right. Get those gears turning and those cobwebs off of that there head of yours.' She thought meanly.
Finally they got all of her classes straight. They even pulled out Sarah, who she had three of her five classes with, out to show her where they all were. When she finally got to the fabled E wing, they both strolled up into Math class like they owned the place. Well, they kinda did seeing as they were two of the four most popular girls in Brickly High.
That was when I saw him. I figured that he was the new kid. He was staring at me and I was actually unnerved by him. I mean sure, he was the typical good looking high school dude. The only thing was that he hid himself inside of his jacket and didn't talk. He just stared.
I looked straight at Sarah. She must have registered my panic as I sat down because she reached out to me tentatively. She mouthed 'Are you okay?' to me and I nodded. The teacher said my name and my head shot up straight at him. I raised my eyes in question format and he spoke again.
"I said, Eve Parkingson, do you know what we are doing?" He repeated slowly to me as if I was stupid. That made me raised my eyes at him even more.
"Well Mr. Wil-ming-ton." I pronounced each part of his name slowly so he got the emphasis. "I. Was. In. A. Coma. For. Two. Months. I. Don't. Believe. I. Do. Sir." I said as the class started to snicker. Half court shot for me. None for him.
Sarah shoved my shoulder playfully from behind and said to me, "That wasn't very nice Eve. But damn it was funny." The teacher didn't think so though.
"Now Miss Parkingson. I know you just got back from a coma and all but is that the way to start the new school year for you hmm?" He asked. His face was beat red and you could tell the aggravation from his posture and the way he spoke. I just shrugged my shoulders.
When the bell rang, everyone got up to leave. Then the teacher told me to stay for a few minutes. I tossed my bag back on my desk and sat where Sarah had been sitting. Well, sat where she had been writing actually. The new kid watched me as he walked out. I made sure to avoid eye contact and even looking back at him. I looked everywhere else but at him.
"Miss Parkingson. I understand that you've been through some rough times, but you don't need to act like that in class." He said, crossing his arms over his chest as he sat on the other desk across from me. It was almost as if he was trying to be my friend.
Smiling at him, I went to answer him like this.
"Well sir, you see, I have been through some rough times lately. You know its mind blowing to find out you missed your sixteenth birthday. I mean for real. And then the world basically ended while I was knocked out. Pretty great huh?" She said to him. She was angry at him for some reason. Probably for his unnerving calm at the minute. However, he didn't seem to notice the dagger glare or the volcanic tone.
"Well, you have potential. I want to see it come out. Now don't do that again or else I'm sending you to the office."
I had been grabbing my stuff while he said this. I rolled my eyes where he couldn't see them and went to go out the door with my bag on my shoulder. Same old you have potential speech. She knew it, she lived it basically. Not that her morals lived along those lines. God would she be boring if her morals lived along those lines.
"Yeah, yeah. See you later Mr. Wilmington!" I called over my shoulder with a wave of my hand behind my head. Then I was out of the door. Sarah was waiting for me on the other side, just how she always was.
If there was one thing about Sarah, she was the goodie goodie of the four. I was the troublemaker. Brycen was the athletic one, even though we all had out shares in athletics. Emily was the fashionable one of the four. And we had our basically genius right next to me. I smiled at her as we walked to our next class in the 'B' Wing.
"What do they have these labeled as letters? I remember when they were building one not 'E' Wing." She'd ask about the new flip. It hadn't even been three months and her teenage home basically was changing.
"I have no clue. The board decided that that was what they were going to call it." She'd say with a shrug, clutching her books to her chest while her blonde hair got into her face. When she finally got it out, we were at English class. And that was when I ran straight into the figure I had been trying to avoid since I saw him.

By: Kayleigh [not putting last name not that i dont trust yall lol]
Synopses
While everything in the world comes to an almost absolute end, Eve is stuck in a coma. Yet nobody knows that something biological is the reason for this. When she finally wakes up, she discovers that not only has the world changed so much, but her body has also too. There's also a new kid in school and he's a mystery storybook all together. When a man comes up to her while she's in a cafe, her whole world changes even more. Will this adventure be her first and last? Or will she complete the task that the mystery man has given her?
Excerpt
"You didn't really think that you could hide for this long did you?" I looked up to find a man staring at me, a smirk growing on his large face.
"I have no clue what your talking about." I'd say to him, raising an eyebrow. Did he think that I knew him? Wait, the better question for myself would be, did I know him? If I did, I honestly didn't recall when we had meet or not. "But you know, if you wanna inform me about it, be my guest!" I'd say, giving him a sarcastic smile.
"You honestly don't know? How about the coma that you were in? Did you ever wonder what it was that had caused it?" My mind turned with the question, unsure of even what he was implying. It was just a coma. People go into them from time to time. The doctors had just told me that it was something to do with my body trying to fix itself. Or, in better terms, they had no idea. Yet, what blew my mind was the fact that he knew I had been in a coma. Nobody had known that except my parents, and my brother and sister. Plus the doctors, but I doubted that they'd tell this man anything.
"How do you know this? Nobody but my family and the doctors should know that!" I said, narrowing my eyes. "Are you stalking me?"
He gave me a smile that seemed rather genuine. "If only it were that easy hon. I'm here to give you a task. One that could mean life or death for you. And your family as well."
Chapter One
I never expected what had happened. I had been in the kitchen, eating spaghetti with my family, and then...nothing. I had just thought that I'd fainted. Maybe even blacked out. But when I eventually never woke up, I got worried. It seemed like I was there, floating in the nothingness, for days, months. Once, it had even felt like a year. I wanted out of this...whatever this was. I needed to go home. I needed to see my friends, to gossip like a normal teenager. Or just have the stupid drama that Elana and Sarah always managed to get their selves into. But when my wish had eventually came true, I had never expected what I saw. ------------------------------------------------------------------
I heard beeping. The kind that you heard in a hospital when someone was connected to those heart monitor thing's. I hadn't been in a hospital since I was five, and that was when grandpa had died. Honestly, I didn't know that that was where I was until i opened my eyes. There was a monitor, with a red and green and white line. I squinted to see better, but everything was just so bleary. But when I tried to open my mouth, I felt something in my throat. When I had finally realized it was a tube, I had already started to choke. A nurse hurried in and pulled it out.
"Hello honey. How are you feeling?" The nurse asked me. I stared at her a moment, my mind groggy. I had no clue as to how long I had been out. One thing that I did know however, was that I was so thirsty I could have drank the Hover dam. Well, if it still had all of the water in it, that is.
Pointing to the cup on the table in front of her bed, she attempted to speak. "Waaa-" was all that i had managed to get out, but perhaps this woman had been around plenty of people who had been in the same situation.
After the nurse handed me the water, I brought it to my lips with shaky arms. When the liquid hit my lips, it was cool bliss. Even more so as it went down my parched throat. As I had been drinking, a doctor came in, followed by my parents and siblings. I gave my family a smile and then I registered the look on the man's face. It seemed to be pure awe.
"It seems that she came back without any damage. We'd like to take a scan to be sure though." He'd say to my parents, looking over a piece of paper on a clipboard. What was he talking about? Wait, now that I thought of it, what was I doing here? I'm perfectly fine...well so I thought I was. But still, I'd know if I went to the hospital right? But then I remembered all the black and floating.
"Mom? Dad? What happened? Why am I here?" I asked in a scratchy voice. I started to cough from the long time of no use then the sudden use of my voice.
The doctor looked at me quizzically, as if I should have already known that answer. "You had been in a coma for two month's Eve." He spoke, rather bluntly for my liking. But at least he spoke when my parents hadn't.
Two months! That was so long! Everything that I had missed. Heck, even my friends must have thought that I was dead or something! I couldn't believe this. How could it have happened? I had even missed my own birthday because of whatever it was that had happened to me.
I looked to my parents, but they only nodded. But why had I been in it for so long? I didn't have a clue of what it could have been caused by. I've never done drugs before in my life, nor smoked, nor drank. So how could this have happened? As i contemplated this, the doctor rolled my bed out to the MIR room. They put my head under the thing and told me to stay still.
I stared at the circling x-rays (for that's what i believed they were), my head started to hurt. Why? Maybe it was because of the circling movement with my eyes trying to follow it. That most certainly would make my head hurt, would it not? When the intercom spoke, they told me to close my eyes. I did as they said and it stopped hurting. Apparently they thought it helped the image to. They kept me in the thing for about five more minutes and then they told me I could go home. You wouldn't believe how happy I was to hear those four words utter from a mans mouth.
As they strolled me back to my room, my little brother came up to me. "Eve!" He squeaked with happiness. I guess someone had missed me. I smiled at him and ruffled up the brown hair on his small head.
"Hey there little man. How's it goin?" I asked him, giving him a huge goofy grin. He giggled and darted off to the room I had been in, where mom scooped him up.
"I see you found somebody you know hmmm?" My mother would say to Brian. She'd look up at me and give me a pleasant enough smile. Me and my mother had never seen eye to eye. She had always believed in being cautious and plan every single thing that you do. However, I am an almost exact replica of my father's personality. I just went with the flow, doing whatever when I felt the need to do it. Like once, I had wanted to dye my light brown hair to a jet black. Dad supported it completely when I had come home. Mom...eh let's just say I was stuck in my room for a whole week.
However, today was a different story. Instead of looking at me disapprovingly, or with anger, she was actually smiling and behind her cold, ice blue eyes, I could see relief.
"Hey Mom." I said as I got off of the bed. I turned to grab my clothes from my closet to put on. She looked at me momentarily, almost as if her mind was blown over the fact that I was alive.
"Listen, Eve. We really need to talk. There was a reason that you were in that coma." She spoke lowly, almost as if she was afraid that someone was going to eavesdrop on them.
"Look Mom, the doc said it was my body trying to protect itself from something foreign. It's fine. I'm alive, you should be happy!"
"I am happy sweetie, it's just that there was a reasoning behind why it did that. I know this reason. When we get home, we can talk about it, okay?" She spoke to me. I nodded to her.
"Okay. Whatever." I put on my clothes and stood up. "Let's bust outta this prison!" I said happily, ready to leave the hospital that smelt so much like death itself.
---
When we got into the car, my little brother shoved the door closed for me. Then he got into the other side. I grinned at him and ruffled up his hair.
"Turning into a little gentleman hmm? That's gonna get ya all of the ladies!" I said, grinning at him. He smiled back and laughed. He probably didn't know what 'Ladies' were at the age of five, but he got what I meant I guess. When the engine started up and the car started to move, I looked out the window. Everything went by at a speed which my eyes could not follow. It made me dizzy seeing as I hadn't been in a moving object going this speed since...forever it seemed.
When it finally slowed down, I looked up at the familiar red oak and the tall house. It had gotten a paint job, more of an oaken color than the spruce it had been before. Finally we got out of the car and I grabbed my stuff that was at the bare minimum. We walked up the stone steps to the door. Dad unlocked it and everyone went through the door.
The first thing that I noticed was that it smelt different. Instead of the rosy smell it had had before it was...lavender? I had never heard of her mother using that flower scent before. If anything, my mother used to hate it. I raised her eyes for a minute, completely confused. Maybe they had changed a lot while I was out? Or maybe my mother wanted to use lavender? I honestly had no clue.
"Honey, if you want you can go up to your room and change. Those clothes are so old." My mother would say as she put up the food they had bought on their way here. I'd just nod and go up the steps on wobbly legs. I had no clue what to expect since I hadn't been home for so long.
I looked at the door with the yellow tap saying BEWARE DO NOT CROSS on it. I'd then nudge open the door and flick on the light. Everything was the same. Nothing had changed. That shocked me. It seemed that my parents would have packed up everything. Get rid of all relics of me. It was rare for people to come out of coma's. Let alone without any mental damage. I sighed and went to my dresser.
There were pictures of me and my friends. Me and Sarah at the mall. Me and Brycen at school cheer leading in the 9th grade. I smiled at all of the memories. Then my phone was laying on top of a box. I grabbed it and turned it one. One hundred missed texts and thirty missed calls! What in the world? I looked at them, seeing them being from Sarah, Bycren and Emily. I raised my eyes. It was good to know that at least some people had worried about me.
I put the phone back down and plopped on my bed. One thing was for certain was that it was so much more comfier than the hospital bed. But then I heard mom yelling for me. I groaned, not wanting to get up. I was exhausted that much was for certain. I decided that it was better to keep my mom in her good mood, rather than her to be how she was at first. I stomped down the stairs, already getting back into my old routine. I slid in the kitchen in my socks, almost as if i was an ice skater, and leaned on the counter.
"What's up mom?" I asked her when she stopped cutting the vegetables and looked at me square in the eyes.
"Hon, we need to talk about why you were in that Coma." She said, a look of grief and pain flashing across her eyes for a moment. I didn't exactly register it.
"Yea! I think that I came up with a reasoning behind that! There was something in the food that you put in it while cooking it and it did that. It almost killed me but my body saved me. Good enough? I like that explanation seeing as your food is that gross. It could kill an elephant." What i said was truth. My mothers food was the grossest in the whole city. Like no joke.
However, mom didn't like that explanation quite as much as i had.
"Go to your room now! I can tell you tomorrow! I'll have Brian bring you dinner and you can stay in there until tomorrow, when you have to go to school!" I laughed and walked back up the steps to my room. So far so good for my life back in civilization. However, there were a few key points i had missed and discovered in that time in my room.

Long Live The Reckless And the Brave I don't think i want to be saved His reaction was slightly delayed. She had thought that she had gone over the line. She hoped she hadn't, but then he returned the embrace. Or whatever was closest to it. Finally, she pulled back and smiled at him, a plan forming in her head. She'd casually go over to the side, standing next to him almost. She'd make it look like she was comparing their heights almost.
If he hadn't figured out what was going on, he was sure about to. She then poked him in the side. It was her idea of having fun. Or making fun or whatever you wanted to call it. If anything, it would certainly ease up the mood....hopefully. She grinned up at him, the incident forgotten for the time being.
Crappy post sorry.
