Brendan knew of the problems on the Ground, they were fairly obvious as kids risked their lives for them at the moment. He was not the kind of person to be an asset in that field, so he had stayed back, struggling to put a routine to the people remaining in Camp Jaha. He knew, from observing the survivors, that it was more than necessary for every one of them. It had been a struggle with the rather angry leadership right now for him to put up a teaching routine and schedules again, but he had been adamant and all but forced them to accept it.
As of right now, with most kids not there, he had all ranges of ages in the school, struggling to put together a schedule to benefit all of them. For now, for the beginning he knew he needed to utilize the older kids and provide social and psychological support for the kids, while he was still dealing with the aftermath of the crash landing himself. The kids needed it much more than him. To his surprise, as he had one of the toddlers balanced on his hips, an older girl – probably around the age of most the 100 – came in. “Oh thank goodness. You’re sent to school, right? I really need a few older kids around here. Come in, come in. It’s still a bit provisional, naturally, but it’ll be fun.”

She had just gotten back when she went into the center of camp. She had some berries she had found, unsure if they were poisonous or not, and she had water. She put the water down and kept the berries, waiting for a moment to find someone who would know what they were. Then she'd go to the 'school'. Everything was crazy at the moment and any moment she could get to herself was welcomed. She thought that the school would be a great place for that moment. Though the teacher was there. She stopped when she heard the voice asked her to come in. She smiled at him and nodded. He had a kid on his hips and there were others there too. Do you need help? She'd ask him. She reached her hands out to take the kid from him. She'd balance him on her side, more so on her hips, and start lifting him up and down. Almost like rocking a baby. He'd smile and she'd turn back to him. I can watch some of the younger ones for you? She'd offer him. She needed a break from all the running around. Plus, little kids were always interesting.
