The bodies were still warm. With their eyes shut peacefully one could assume that they were asleep or simply unconscious. The hard truth was difficult to face as a stranger... the amount of death in that small room and the feeling of dread coming off of Bellamy in waves was heavy... Niylah would never have been able to stand in Bellamy’s place. She didn’t feel pity... Instead she mourned for him and the challenges he now faced alone. A part of him died with his friends and family and Niylah mourned that part of him that would probably never return. Death changed people... People like Bellamy; always trying so desperately to do the right thing were always the ones who put the most of their hearts in others. What happened to that part of his heart when the people he sacrificed his life for died so coldly?<p>
It died with them. The way Bellamy moved and spoke, it was clear that the light inside him was snuffed out, leaving him colder than the bodies they moved. There were no words that Niylah could use to give him comfort, in any language. There weren’t even any actions. Holding him came later... now he probably hadn’t even really come to terms with any of it. How could he? Niylah doubted that he had anyone else. She would do everything she could for him... For his sister, for Clarke, and for him—the man who tried to do the right thing. With nobody to look after he would fall apart.
“I will find something,” she replied as he mentioned needing a wrapping. The camp was filled with things she could use. Any looter would have picked this place apart... survival supplies were all over but Niylah was focused on Bellamy. Her father would have been furious... but... it didn’t matter now. She quickly pulled clothes off tables and tarps off of metal walls. Anything that was large enough to wrap the bodies, she gathered. When she returned to Bellamy it took everything in her not to reach out to him... it was a delicate situation... and she had never learned how to deal with anything like it. “These will help,” she said softly as she carefully began to cover Raven’s body with a smooth table cloth. She set the plastic and cloth on the back of the rover for Bellamy and worked quickly to give the dead a shred of dignity.
“Bellamy when this is.... when we have laid them to rest I want you to come with me.” She said softly as she worked, moving onto the next. It was a boy she had met briefly, but didn’t know well at all. “Please?”

It was impossible to express how fearful Niylah became as the guards blocked her path to her horse. The others seemed to surround her and clutch their guns as a silent reminder that they could shoot her at a moments notice. Somehow this only made her clutch her blade tighter, even as the young blonde girl stepped out from the crowd. She seemed so... young and innocent. Was she at the heart of all this? Niylah didn't understand how A.L.I.E worked. She didn't even know what she was, or how she could possess people, but she made sure to remind herself that Raven was not herself when she came. Perhaps the same affliction had this young woman. Niylah swallowed hard when she spoke. It was calm, sweet, but utterly void of emotion or warmth. Niylah still couldn't take her eyes away from her. "I don't know where they went," Niylah answered flatly. Her lips were drawn back in an agressive expression, as though she were ready to snap. "They told me nothing."
She recoiled at the mention of loss and for a brief moment she wanted to hit the girl. Of course, her appearance held Niylah back from being so harsh, but the idea of someone who could make Raven behave the way she had mentioning loss was infuriating. Of course, anger was frequently used to smother other emotions the words dug up. "We all lose people we care about; and then we move on. We adjust to the circumstances..." She was still reeling from the discovery that Bellamy was partially to blame for the death of her father. She was still trying to convince herself that had the situation been swapped, he would have died the same. Still, the wounds were fresh and the war not yet over. "When you let me go, I will go to another village. It shouldn't concern you where I go... If you want to find the others, you should stop wasting time." She took a tentative step towards the stable and watched the guards move in closer to block her way.
"Please... I have nothing to do with this... I just want to be left alone, that's all." Her voice held a twinge of desperation; submission to the events and acceptance of the fact that she wouldn't get out of this without mercy. "You're the danger... I've survived here my whole life; I know how to overcome any danger here."

There wasn't enough time for Niylah to think or process his apology, or how it was a warning in itself of what he was going to do. She knew he would try to stop her, but she never thought he would do something like this. There was a brief moment when her legs gave way that she could understand what had happened, but before she could put any thoughts on it, or resist, she'd already blacked out and fallen limp in his arms with nothing more than a confused whimper. The rest was darkness... Even as he loaded her into the rover and packed what he could find, she was gone. Being taken like this... against her will, halted everything that she had planned. There was no honor in running... When she did finally wake, the surroundings confused her. The roar of the vehicle was unlike anything she'd experienced before. Even with the familiar scent of home clinging to the furs and the clothing she was laying with, it instilled a healthy dose of fear.
The nausea she felt was different from the illness that had plagued her. The vehicle; the driving made her ill. As the realization of what he'd done sunk in, anger drove her to clarity. She struggled to sit and held onto the floor and the wall of the rover for support. Through the windows, she could see the forest rushing by. The pines were sparse. They were not close to the post, instead they were south. She knew, because there was enough space for the rover to plow through. "Bellamy," she muttered quietly as she gripped a bar on the ceiling of the rover. She pulled herself up shakily and tried to imagine this vehicle was nothing more than a cart. Being encased in a metal vehicle was a death trap. The way it moved so unnaturally against the ground made her woozy. "Bellamy!" She growled it now; her voice weighted and husky as she recovered from the drug he had used. "What did you do?" a twinge of desperation penetrated her anger as she climbed into the front of the rover. She didn't make any move to attack him but the seat was more secure. The window was bigger and helped with the unfamiliar feeling.
She desperately tried to figure out their exact location-- how far was she from the post? More importantly how long had she been unconscious. "How could you do this..." she found herself muttering as she realized how far they really were. There was no chance they'd be able to circle back... her home was probably gone; being picked apart by Skaikru while Bellamy drove in the opposite direction.

Niylah was silent as Bellamy explained that he would bury the others and burn his sister-- with Lincoln. She knew the name and knew the story of the Trikru who was letting his love for the sky girl impede his judgment. Niylah had always found the rumor and the story romantic in a way, not that she would ever say it. Knowing they were dead now... Well, she couldn't help the swell of emotion in her throat. She didn't know these people, but she was too empathetic for her own good. Bellamy's tears threatened to catch onto her, especially as he admitted her couldn't let the young woman go. Niylah swallowed her emotions and moved to kneel by his side. Lightly, she pushed his hair back and smoothed it away from his face. She didn't expect him to look at her. "It's okay," she said slowly. "You don't have to let her go," not yet, she thought.
He'd kept her warm; curled up with her that way while the others cooled. "I'll get them out of here... I'll get them outside and you can stay here." Lightly, she stroked his cheek before moving to Raven's body. She closed her eyes, but said no words of passing. These were Skaikru bodies... she didn't want to offend Bellamy by treating them-- well as anything less in his eyes. It was strange trying to help him now after the death of her father, but blame was so far back in her mind she didn't even spare it a thought as she moved her arms underneath Raven's. Slowly she pulled her up and rested her against her chest. Fortunately, the large metal room had a door that opened up to the outside of Arkadia. She'd never seen an airlock, but she knew to work open the crank to open it. It was stiff, but with some effort, she managed to open it and let in some fresh air to wash the scent of death away. "Do you have... a place in mind?" She asked softly.

Niylah couldn't help the flash of guilt that crossed her features when Bellamy asked her what she'd done. She didn't expect him to be here and she hadn't thought she would have to face someone who could have lost one of their own. Especially when Bellamy was trying to help. His loyalties were all over the place and she could see it... Whether he wanted her to be safe or not, the possibility of having lost one of his own was painful. "Bear trap," she said quickly. "If they get him back to Arkadia he'll recover." If he stayed there, he wouldn't make it through the night. Then he grabbed her arms... He looked into her eyes with so much desperation that saying no again was too difficult. She didn't speak at first. She returned his intense gaze before leaning in to kiss him softly. Her fingers curled into his hair gently for a moment as her tongue lightly ran over his lower lip; savoring the taste for the last time before she looked up at him.
"I can't expect you to understand... This is my place. Trikru doesn't run from an attack. I'm not a coward." In some ways, maybe she was. Dying here honorably was less painful than living with the guilt of fleeing from this place. Niylah never handled guilt well. Unlike most of her people she could never shake it. "I'm sorry Bellamy. I don't want you to fight your own people I want you to go back to where you belong; with them. You're Skaikru-- you owe me nothing..." The feeling of pushing him away was painful... The situation was so tense, emotions were running high and she couldn't stomach leaving him. It was for different reasons, though. She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, one last time. "You can't change this Bellamy. It's not your fault... but you can't stay."

When Bellamy stormed in, Niylah tensed and stared. He was urgent, which was a clear indication that he had failed in his attempts to sway his leader. Violence would be their first move, and Niylah had expected no less. She didn't expect him to come for her right before the attack though. "You shouldn't be here," she said with a frown as she took a few steps back. He should be with them. His people. Whether he agreed with it or not she doubted that his leader would approve of him being here now. "I don't have a bag Bellamy I told you I am not going anywhere. You need to go before they get here and see you..." She walked towards the back door where she glanced through the chipped plastic window. She was looking for any signs of scouts. She hunted so often, she knew what their mentality would be. She was the first stop between the village and Arkadia. They'd be coming. "How close are they?"
She ignored his haste and instead focused on the surrounding woods. When she did turn away, a sharp cry tore through the air and she knew one of them had fallen victim to a sharp metal trap. She growled a little; like an animal protecting its den as she grabbed her knife. "Leave," she hissed at Bellamy-- more aggressively this time. No she wouldn't harm him but she was terrified that they would. They were coming. The first set of traps weren't far, but there was rough terrain between them. It would take them a while to get down the steep slopes. "Jok," she hissed as she barred the door. "Please, Bellamy-- go. You can still get out of this before they get here... They'll see you as a traitor." He knew all this so why was he even here? The idea that he somehow valued her over his own people baffled her... she couldn't let him throw away his life this way.

It had been three days since Bellamy had left, and Niylah knew that Skaikru was still scouting her land. She paid more attention to the scouts. She even saw some of them testing the land around the herbs her family had grown near the river. They were planning on taking her land and she had been preparing herself. She set traps, she littered the earth in toxins and she knew that she would die protecting her land by the way they reacted when they saw her. Nobody had taken the shot, but she knew they were going to take the land they wanted by force. Many would either die or harm themselves in the process. When she heard the rover, she knew that it was coming to an end. The road was clear; a frontal attack was imminent-- but the woods were cluttered with all kinds of nasty obstacles designed to kill wolves and panthers that stalked the grounds around the post.
Niylah hadn't packed a bag of belongings. She wasn't ready to run, despite telling Bellamy she would to appease him. Truth be told, besides Bellamy she had nothing left worth fighting for besides her home. Bellamy was with them though, so she had to make a decision. Her only items of value were on her person now. A lock of her mother's hair was braided into her own and a heavy brass necklace her father wore was dangling around her neck. Tokens of the dead. Slowly she drew a breath as she heard the rover come closer. She tried to listen for footsteps. There was only one rover, which meant there couldn't be more than ten warriors. She didn't stand a chance, really, but she had homemade bombs ready to go the moment she touched them to the flame, so in a way she was baiting them to enter. She would die if she set off the fires, but so would they.
Still, she only heard one set of footsteps when the rover door opened.

When he pushed her back, she stumbled. It was a hard shove which surprised her, since he seemed so numb. She didn't know the girl was his family, but the way he reacted made her assume as much even before he spoke. She slowly pushed herself up and kept her eyes on him; wary as ever. She should have left. She owed Bellamy nothing, now. It was difficult to see him as an enemy, especially when he looked up at her with tears in his eyes. They had to move them. Niylah nodded once in understanding, not sure where they should put them. She looked over the corpses with a deep frown; going over all their faces. She didn't even know all of them... there were so many. She couldn't see blood, or any injuries. Most were bound to pipes and seats... Slowly she moved to their wrists and cut the binds with her knife. She didn't look at Bellamy as she freed the corpses...
"We burn our dead," she said in a low voice as she cut the plastic binds off their wrists completely. No one deserved to be a prisoner beyond life. "How does Skaikru..." she didn't want to say dispose the bodies... Finding the right words was a challenge for her. "How do you lay your dead to rest?" She asked softly as she cut the last set of plastic cuffs from Raven. She knew some of them, but only because of their short time in the post. She wanted to help and in this way she could. Whether by building a funeral pyre or burying the bodies. She was curious about the one Skaikru girl who he protected. She knew the language, dressed like Trikru... though Niylah didn't know her well enough to come to the conclusion that she would want to be put to rest like those who were born on the ground.

Bellamy's dried lips parted and his hollow words shot out; dull and lifeless. His eyes were void of any feeling, which was something that Niylah had never seen before. She hadn't known him long, but whether desperation for Wanheda or remorse, his eyes had always been filled with some kind of emotion. He was a corpse; a fire with nothing left but the embers and even those faded. He didn't get to do this. She didn't know him. She didn't know his life, his history or even his background beyond what she had heard in the post... He didn't get to give up. "Now." she said harshly. Her hand wrapped around his wrist to pull it from the corpse he cradled. "You aren't dying here. You don't get to give up. If you give up, all of your friends die for nothing." She knew loss. She lived it. Niylah lost far too much in that battle. She lost friends, family... Bellamy didn't get to give up.
"Look at me;" she muttered as she grabbed his face more deliberately now. "Your friends were here for a reason. You were all here for a reason, so what was it? Whatever it was-- you can't just stop. Your people are still out there." She'd seen the hoard of them; walking like the dead searching for something. Searching for Raven, rather. "Please... You can't just sit here and rot with these corpses..." She let go of him and moved to pull the long dark haired girl from his lap. She had been kind to her-- offered her the lamp. Though she didn't know her name. All of Wanheda's friends were just familiar faces that would need to be burned. Bellamy however was not dead, and Niylah wasn't about to let him go without a fight.

When Wanheda left with her friends, Niylah was told that she had to run. Clarke had been so vague and had never actually given her an explanation of what was coming for her. Niylah didn't even know how close the Skaikru hoard was so her post until she put out the fires and heard them approaching. With a bag of supplies slung over her shoulder and a blade in her hand she turned around to face the group of Skaikru faces that she had never seen. Raven had been a mess. Hostile, brainwashed... she couldn't imagine what had been done to her. "They are gone," she said loudly as she stood up straighter. "You should go too." She couldn't kill the entire group of Skaikru but she could make a dent if she had to.
She was still tense after everything that had happened... When Raven exposed what Bellamy did to her father; to the army, she lost it. Slowly, Niylah backed towards the stable that held her horse. She should have been quicker. "Leave!" She yelled now as she tried to count the faces. There were too many... all of them unfamiliar, even though she had seen a group of them not long ago with Bellamy. The fact that she couldn't recognize any of them only scared her more. They seemed so blank. "They took the girl and left! You have no business here!" What had they dragged her into? What was this about?

Niylah had kept her distance from her post for two days now. She followed Wanheda and her friends silently, knowing that they would know where safety was. When they returned to Arkadia though, she had been so confused. She'd set up camp within the woods and scouted the base, wondering what on earth had happened there. It was dead; silent... Though later that day one man left the base in the rover that they had taken. Perhaps he was one of the faces she hadn't seen. Though it didn't make sense that he left without the others. So, she continued to watch. There was no gunfire-- no indication of conflict and no reason for her to infiltrate the wolf den until it was empty and she could gather supplies. Though... the more time that past the more uneasy she became.
It wasn't curiosity that drove her into Arkadia before the others left. It was worry and confusion. Though they cared little for her, she cared for Wanheda. Despite what Skaikru had taken from her, she still respected them. Bellamy saved her life. Clarke avenged her mother. However, the closer she got to the base the stronger the smell of death became. How much blood stained this soil? She couldn't imagine that they kept the bodies long. Though they had abandoned their home. Cautiously, Niylah drew her blade and entered the massive structure with her bag over her shoulder. When she entered the smell became stronger. She followed it, knowing something had gone horribly wrong. "Wanheda," she called into the silence as she followed the smell. She had to know if they were alive... though as she rounded the corner, all she could see was death.
One blonde head stood above the rest and Niylah was horrified. They were all dead. Wanheda- her friends... they were all dead and piled together like garbage. With wide eyes, she made her way into the room and lowered herself to check Clarke's vitals. She was searching for any sign of life... When she found none, she couldn't help the emotion that swelled in her chest. "Yu gonplei ste odon..." she mumbled softly as she shut her eyes. Whether or not Clarke cared for her or respected her as much as Niylah cared for her was irrelevant. For a time, Clarke was her friend. Then her eyes shifted to Octavia-- with her throat slit... though it wasn't how she died. So many bodies... though Bellamy wasn't as pale and stiff. He didn't even look dead. Still, but alive. "Bellamy," she muttered as she moved to him. She grabbed his face; holding his jaw in her hand as she looked for signs of life. "Get up," she said roughly. He survived. The thought of killing him didn't even pass her thoughts-- whether she was upset with him or not. All she saw was that he needed help.

Hey lovely! I had a plot idea for A.L.I.E and Niylah, AU after Nevermore. I was thinking a group of the city of light crew could beat Niylah to her escape, since she wouldn't really understand what was going on. (Nobody really explained it to her at all!)
In her current state I could see Niylah being vulnerable to persuasion. Since it's AU, my idea involves a group of NPCS (to avoice Jaha overlap and canon overlap!) that comes to scout for Raven and the others. Instead of finding Raven they find Niylah and perhaps Niylah can meet A.L.I.E through possession similar to how she communicated with others. ^_^ My idea sort of revolves around being the first grounder in the city of light and sharing that knowledge of Trikru/other grounders ways of life and all that jazz. Also to try to figure out if she knows anything about where the gang of misfits is going.
Let me know if you'd be interested!! <3 @alie
**edit First grounder in this AU, I mean xD

His threat made Niylah's heart leap with excitement. In his current state, he was helpless and completely at her mercy, making the desperate threat all the more arousing. His moans as her tongue skillfully worked him would have been enough, but as he groaned his curse she couldn't help the teasing smile that spread across her lips. Yes; she was a sadist it was true. Having him so hot and desperate for her was more than simply an ego boost. It aroused her in ways she'd never experienced before. "I look forward to it," she said with a small chuckle as she pulled away only for a moment. Her tongue traced her lips for a moment before moving back to his rigid member where she ran her tongue back along the underside of his length before trapping him in her mouth again.
With her tongue pressed against him she ducked down; taking more of him with every movement she made as her nails dug subconsciously into his hips. They left dark indents as the tip of his length slid down her throat. Instinctively, it tightened around him even as she grew used to the feeling of him. She let out a soft groan as her eyes flicked up to his. They were dark and seductive as she drank in the desperation in his eyes. She loved the way his body stiffened at her touch. When she felt the resistance of his hips lessen, one hand moved to trail over his chest. Her nails scraped the skin lightly as her head bobbed-- faster now, working harder to hear his moans of pleasure. There were no words to describe how having him like this felt. Though she was teasing him, all she wanted was more.

Her friends were going to Polis. This wasn't a problem, but if they were going there armed and ready to fight then she knew it would end badly. She didn't dare mention that to Gena in her current state though... Bringing weapons into the capital was expressly forbidden and wouldn't go unpunished. At least, that was as long as the commander was in an understanding mood. Instead, Niylah focused on healing Gena. She tuned out the whimpers and tried to use the weeds as Clarke had directed, but since she was no healer this was difficult. "Your friends will be safe," she said as she rested the damp bloodied linen aside. She was lying. Niylah didn't know if they would be, in fact she was almost positive they wouldn't be safe at all. "Don't worry about them now... We'll get you in travelling condition, and I'll take you back to Arkadia when you're able." She looked over the injuries with insecurity in her eyes, not sure how to proceed.
Instead of continuing with unknown medical treatment she took a bottle of stiff alcohol and offered it to her to drink. After she let the bottle go she moved on to her face. Slowly she pushed her hair back and held it in place with a thick cotton band so she could clean the cuts and scrapes. "I'm not a healer," she said quietly. "I don't know a lot about this kind of stuff-- and I think... Well the only person I know who knows about it isn't easy to find." Wanheda could be anywhere, but rumors said she was in Polis. She swallowed hard and pulled her own hair back with a thread. "I could find a healer, but I'd have to leave you here and I don't know when my father is returning..."
