It was never a good thing to be late when your boss hosted a night of entertainment--which was why Wick was running at a dead sprint down the hall. Bellamy Blake was his best friend but sometimes they lost track of time and Wick always ended up looking like the guy who could build anything, but a watch! They had been goofing off which was why he had lost track of time!
He paused outside the door and sucked in a few very large breaths before knocking on the door. Making sure he was clean, he waited until the door was opened before panting a smile on his face. "Hey! I am Kyle . . . I am a friend of Jake's, and here for some football!" He had never watched the sport before, or cared to, or even know what type of ball that was. "I love football! I can't wait!"

Clarke had helped her mother making the snacks for football night. It was usually a merry get together with friends, sometimes larger, sometimes smaller. Today it was apparently larger, it appeared. Her father had spoken of a coworker joining. And then there were the Jahas – at least the male Jahas. Clarke had made significantly more snacks, not knowing how much anyone would eat.
She was the one to hop to the door to open it when it knocked for the first time, allowing Wells and the chancellor inside. It wasn’t much longer until someone else knocked. Once again it was the daughter who jumped to the door to open it. That must be her dads coworker, a surprisingly hot coworker, given how many others she had seen and they were not as generously good on the eyes. “At least you got the name of the game right.” Clarke commented when he said he loved football. She wasn’t sure if he meant it or not, couldn’t tell due to him being new for her. “I’m Clarke, Jakes daughter. Try not to call it soccer in this apartment, there might be a real threat of floating”
