She had been in this cave a month, and had been too afraid and too weak to leave it, There was a grounder who showed kindness toward her--and they looked human! She had not expecting that! For them to look human. She had thought they were animals rather then human. He never spoke but she stopped expecting him him.
He brought her food, water, and warmer clothes when the nights got cold. She had been too weak to get up and move on her own, but he had built a small fire for the nights. It was only in the last week that she could move on her own--getting speared in the chest slowed one down. She had that in common with Jasper. "Maybe we can start a club." She muttered to herself, while looking at the cave entrance. She knew she needed to find the others, but she wasn't sure how. She had failed Earth skills! She didn't know how to survive but the man would never take her to her people!
She knew everyone must think her dead after so long. The only think she remembered was breaking away from the others, she had bee afraid and ran. The others had stood their ground. She wasn't sure if they were still alive but she had to believe HE was. Bellamy. At first she had known he was looking for her, but she also knew he would find his sister first. She wasn't his first priority here. She'd always known that. With Bellamy, that was always clear to everyone.
After the days turned to weeks, she knew that no one was looking for her anymore. If they were going to find her, it would have to be her doing the finding. She was just so scared! Taking a deep breath she took the first few steps out of the cave, and stood still. She was exposed now! On the end of panic but refusing to turn around. "Worst. Earth. Ever." She muttered to herself, over and over and over again. It became her mantra. With each step she said it, until it was her hate of this place that kept her moving.
It was maybe two hours before she heard sounds. Panic made her run. It was more then one thing, or something big. She didn't know. She didn't even know if she was going in circles or not! All she knew was there was something behind her, and moving toward her. Looking back she couldn't see what it was.

48 of the people I SWORE TO PROTECT Word had reached them that one of the 100 was alive. Whether it was true or not, Bellamy didn't care. With the hope that it was, he immediately readied himself to set out. They had already lost so many of their people, and the Mount Weather massacre was something that weighed heavily on his shoulders. He was fixated on protecting those who remained, and if there was even a chance -- however remote -- that one of their people was alive, he was damn well going to set out and find them. He would easily go alone, but he didn't have to. A small search party was quickly formed and they head out not long after. They were armed with guns, for who knows what the situation with the Grounders were. Not to mention the various creatures that also lurked throughout the woods. Bellamy froze, holding his hand up to halt the others without having to speak. He then motioned with his hand where he could hear the sounds coming from. If this was a person, they would be ready. If it was an animal, they would have dinner -- even if that wasn't the objective of this outing. Bellamy non verbally split the group in to, one heading toward the direction and the other with the intention of going around to cut them off. Bellamy moved forward, ensuring his steps were quiet, sneaking up on the potential prey or with any luck, the source of this search. But luck and fate was hardly ever kind to them. Bellamy heard the rustling getting closer as he was approaching from behind. His gun was aimed and ready should it be a threat . . . but when he saw the back of them, he froze. He would recognize her anywhere, and yet, there was a deep seated denial within him. His eyes slightly widened, his gun only remaining in place due to the shock. "Roma?"

Roma was running and trying to get away from whatever it was--and maybe find something that looked like she knew where she was but they all looked like trees to her! How did one tell them apart?! Who even wanted too? She was trying to get away from the sound when it spoke! AH! IT WAS HER NAME! She jumped and turned and her face fell into shock! Bellamy?! He held a gun on her, but she wasn't sure what was happening!
She Held out her hand for a moment, wondering if he was going to shot her, but she also knew that he wouldn't. YES! Her mind caught up to her! He wouldn't! "Bellamy," She said his name and she heard tears there as she took a few steps that turned into a run, as she ran toward him! YES! He would take her back to the dropship and she could never leave it again! Once she got close to him she jumped up slightly and wrapped her around around his neck, and locked them! She wasn't going to let go until he made her!

48 of the people I SWORE TO PROTECT Bellamy was in a state of shock. He had found her with a spear in her chest; he had mourned her. But, then again, Jasper had also been speared and lived to tell the tale. It was all just . . . shocking. Yet for once, it was a good kind of shock. Bellamy knew they would talk about this later, but right now, nothing else mattered other than the fact that she was alive. That she looked healthy. That . . . her arms were around her. He froze, unable to move due to the surprise of seeing, hearing, and feeling her again. It was something he never thought he would be able to have. When she died, the guilt he'd felt was overwhelming. She had risked her life for him, she had died because of him. And yet here she was now.
And Bellamy would never take that for granted. He lowered the gun and with his other hand and arm, wrapped it securely around Roma. He slightly lowered his head, tilting it to the side to nestle it in the crook of her neck as he closed his eyes and just basked in the feeling of her body against his; her very warm, very alive body. He didn't know how long he had been in this position for. He just let the time pass by before he recognized that they had to return to camp. So with that, reluctantly began to withdraw his head to look at her.
Part of him had wondered just for a moment if his recent actions of massacring hundreds of people was finally catching up to him and he was not hallucinating. But no. She felt too real for it to be that. His eyes were fixated on her face, keeping an arm around her, not ready to fully let her go. "Come on. Let's take you home." He didn't know where she came from, or where she had been. But he wanted her -- perhaps needed her -- to come back to camp. Her death had marked one of the many failures on his part. And her survival, reminded him of how he could never let something like that happen to her ever again.

Roma didn't care what else happened around her, as long as he didn't let her go! She just wanted to know she was safe, and Bellamy had always been the person who made her feel that. She didn't blame him for what happened to her, and time has helped her think about why she shouldn't have run from him--why she had done this to herself. Bellamy had his priorities (his sister) but he would not have just left her to die. He would never leave her to die. When she felt him move back she tightened her arms around him for a moment, until she opened them and saw they weren't alone. There was adults....
Letting loose of his neck, her arms slowly slid down his shoulders until they could cling to his side. His arm was still around her and it felt like an anchor keeping her safe and tucked close to him. She blinked up at him, knowing she was crying and it took her a moment to nod her head. Home! The Ark was home. He was the closest thing she'd had since they cast her out to this hell. "You came for me " she said softly, still in shock at seeing him after all this time. He had come for her! She hadn't thought anyone would. She knew they must have thought her dead after all this time, but he was here! He had come!

48 of the people I SWORE TO PROTECT Once the state of shock subsided enough for Bellamy to function, he began to head back toward the direction of camp. He still kept one arm around her, wanting to keep her close, though knew they couldn't walk like this. He needed to have both arms functioning should a threat arise. So eventually -- and reluctantly -- he lowered his arm back to his side, but did not step away from her. "Had I known you were out here, I would have come a lot sooner." She had been out here all this time. Her death -- or what appeared to have been her death -- was a guilt that forever burdened his heart.
She had only gone for him, and she had died because of him. Seeing her alive, was something to hold on to. With all the other deaths he had caused, he needed to hold onto her; to know now that her death was not among the list of all the others. The word relief did not even begin to cover it. "What happened, Roma?" What had happened after he thought she was dead; speared, just like Jasper had been. Only he'd seen the lifelessness in her eyes. He should have been sure. The need to find his sister had outweighed all else. But that was no excuse. He'd left her there. And anything she had suffered after wards, as on him.

He turned them to begin walking them toward the drop ship and Roma moved with him, eager to get to it, and crawl up behind it's walls. He arm moved to leave her, and she felt a slight panic from the feeling, but squared her shoulders to try and make sure she didn't show it. "Had I known you were out here, I would have come a lot sooner." So he had not known she was alive. That . . . . she wasn't sure about how she felt about anything right now, other then he had come to find her.
"What happened, Roma?" He asked her but it was hard to explain. She wasn't even sure why it had happened. "One of the grounders. They took me to a cave." She told him, not as afraid of them as she had been, but still grateful to be among her own people. She was wearing some of their clothes too. "He healed me. And gave me food." She told him, looking to see who was with him--they were kids. Roma's head jerked around for a moment, taking in the sight of who all was with him.
They were adults, some of them. They looked like guard's. Her head moved back to Bellamy with wide eyes. What had happened? "They weren't on the drop ship!" She asked more then told him, because she was confused. "Did the Ark send help down?" She asked, feeling hopeful! They sent men down to them then it meant they weren't just kids fighting for their lives! Right?

48 of the people I SWORE TO PROTECT Hearing that a Grounder took her to a cave sounded too damn familiar. Lincoln had done the same thing to Octavia, chaining her up to protect her. Bellamy knew that now but at the time, it had infuriated him. Enough to seek him out in particular and use him to extract intel. That was a memory that Bellamy was far less than proud of. "Do you know what his name was?" Bellamy inquired. While things would always be tense between the Arkers and Grounders, Bellamy had to wonder who that had been to defy their people since they'd been at war at the time.
It couldn't have been Lincoln. No way the guy could be in two places at once. Were there more like him out there? He saw her head turn and the spoke of how the company he had come with hadn't been on the drop ship . . . further inquiring as to whether the Ark sent help. Now that, was a hell of a story. "Not quite," he began to answer. It was a long, complicated story, and he was fairly certain she didn't need all the details. Not right now anyway. "The Ark came down." That was as simply put as he could make it. "It broke off into stations. We're still working on finding all the survivors." That was why they had to go out, scout, patrol, map the area. To see who else was out there that could have survived the crash. There had to be more of them. Somewhere.

He asked what the grounder's anme was but Roma could only shake her head. Did they even speak English? How did they have names? She knew they could have names, but how did Bellamy know they could have names?! Had he talked to some of them? What had happened while she was gone? He explained some of it, the Ark had come to Earth--there was no going back too it. He said they were looking for others! "My parents?" She asked, knowing they are on farm station, but not known what that would mean for their chances.
She had been there to hear about the radio, and know the Ark was dying. What she didn't know was everything else. They had had a culling, but was her parents alive? Had they made it to Earth? Did they think she was dead? Alice? Alice was the other girl in their threesomes, and Roma's best everything. She had loved her in a way, though they were never officially anything but friends. "Alice?" She asked, knowing Bellamy would know who that was since he had slept with her too. Was she alive? Were they going to the drop ship to find her? Or was everyone at the Ark now? All the questions were making her head hurt, and she really just wanted to sleep. She was tired, and unsettled. Putting her hands over her belly she held it, as it churned for the unknown. But there was one more question she had to ask, "Did you find your sister?" Because if not then the last month was for nothing.

48 of the people I SWORE TO PROTECT She indicated that she didn't know his name. Perhaps Lincoln would. Bellamy figured it wasn't all too common for this to happen, so if there was anyone else who would save one of the Arkers, maybe Lincoln knew who was capable of that. He wouldn't think on it now though. And Roma's next question moved the conversation. It was an answer that Bellamy wished he had, but he didn't. Not a good one and not a bad one. He just knew that from personal experience, no one had asked about Roma. If they had, he would have had to explain that she was dead. Yet instead of reuniting two parents with their daughter . . . he was bringing back Roma without her parents there.
"We haven't located everyone from Farm yet." He didn't know if that was good or bad. Hope could be a dangerous thing to have. Yet right now, it was all he could offer. The next name however he had a more solid response to. "She's fine." Physically. She had been among those at Mount Weather. But she lived. And as for the last question . . . "We did. She's also fine." A completely changed person due to her transition to Grounder, but it was just a show of the inner strength that Octavia had always possessed.
"We found her that day." The day Roma had been speared. He paused for a moment, wanting to say these words that he forever regretted not telling her before he lost the chance. "I never said thank you, for coming." He should have, the moment she picked up the weapon and was the first to follow his lead. It meant a great deal to him . . . and despite his lack of expressing gratitude, he never took it for granted. "So thank you," he finished, needing to say it now. Needing to express how appreciative he was.

"We haven't located everyone from Farm yet." He told her, and Roma nodded but her mind wasn't on the action. In her head she was trying to decided what that meant. How where they scattered? Did they get thrown about? She didn't think she could ask too many more questions right now, so instead she just stayed silent. Maybe once they were back she could ask for details. "She's fine." That made her exhale in relief! Alice was safe! Roma couldn't wait to run to her, and have Alice see she was alive! She was always big on shows! Surely Alice had been sad when she 'died' and then stayed safe until she was back?
"We did. She's also fine."Oh good! His sister! If they had not found her then Mbege and her would have been for nothing. Knowing she was alright at least gave it purpose. "We found her that day." Good! No one should be out here alone. Roma didn't voice the words, but in her head she knew all too well what scary things were out here when you were alone. She didn't want that one anyone! "I never said thank you, for coming." Blinking she came back tot he conversations, no longer distracted with her head spinning from too much information. He was thanking her. She wasn't sure why it was unexpected, because he wasn't that guy who never said thank you but . . . . maybe it was the moment. "So thank you," Roma looked up at him. She never let on how much she cared about him. He had always made that clear, and she was fine with it--but she knew if he thought she had feelings involved he would pull away.
She didn't expect love in return. She didn't meant it in a melodramatic way, but it was who she was. He had given her what she needed, and she have given him what he would let her. It had worked for them, but she got her heart involved. It was why she had gone. Because he loved his sister, and her death would have killed him. Roma hadn't wanted that for him. "Your welcome." She said, before giving a slight shrug. "I'm just glad you found her."

48 of the people I SWORE TO PROTECT The rest of the walk was fairly silent, apart from the occasional small talk. Bellamy was still processing the fact that Roma was alive; and he knew that she had been through a hell of a lot as well. Relief came over him once they arrived back at Arkadia. He would report to the Chancellor later, because for now, he wanted to make sure Roma was looked after. He took her to medical to get checked, leaving for a bit to make sure all the weapons were put back in the armory and then brief the Chancellor. He also made arrangements for Roma's room, making sure it was set up and that she had everything she needed. Once everything was done, he returned to medical to see if she was alright. There was no physical injury that they would need to keep her there for overnight. But it was seldom the physical wounds that lasted. It was more the emotional ones. The psychological ones.
She was good to go and once she had, Bellamy escorted her to her chambers. Once there he went over a few things, regarding her room, accessibility to food and such. He told her about the Hangar, and that if she needed anything to let him or someone know as there were always people wandering about. Part of him wanted to stay with her. To just . . . sit with her. To be with her. But he knew she needed rest, and so did not overstay his welcome. Perhaps it was just that familiar comfort he felt whenever she was near. She was the first person on the dropship that had known he was there. After all, it wasn't a coincidence that he had grabbed her arm in particular. Soon enough, Bellamy made his leave, aware of the shift he had that night and almost relieved for it. At least that, if nothing else would provide a distraction for his unsettled mind. Yet he continued to bask in the unwavering relief: Roma was alive. Roma was home.

Roma was resting in the medical bay, and hating it. The doctors were moving around her, and looking in on everyone, but she just wanted out. She heard the guy doctor talk about her blood work, and then they both look at her. That was a big pile of hell no. He walked over to her, and told her she was fine, but they wanted to draw a bit more blood and run a test. Then he asked her if she'd been sexually active. While she had a feeling that she knew where that was going, she only silently held out her arm, and didn't say anything to his question.
Thankfully they already thought her disturbed because of her time 'away' so he didn't push. Once he wasn't looking she climbed from bed and walked out of there. She found Miller. Miller! He took her to Bellamy's room, and she stood int he hall until he left. Once he had she knocked on the door. Roma wasn't sure what her plan was beyond just wanting to tell him to hold her. She didn't want to sleep in the med bay and be watched all night. They would start to worry when they couldn't find her, but Roma didn't care either--they'd sent her to Earth to die, let them worry a bit. All she knew was that once he opened the door she was going to walk right in and just wrap her arms around his middle.

48 of the people I SWORE TO PROTECT Bellamy was almost disappointed when his shift was over. He was practically finding any excuse he could to not have to return to his quarters. He hated being alone. Especially at night, when there was no way to distract his mind from the haunting images that appeared every time he closed his eyes. Going to sleep was almost a fear now. Found only when exhaustion took over and he had no other choice but to close his eyes. All the advice his mother had once given him and Octavia about slaying their demons seemeed futile. Because it didn't work. Not this time. He had far too many demons to try and slay them all. Arriving in his room he took off his jacket and hung it up, standing and staring at nothing in particular.
His position soon moved so that he was seated at the edge of his bed, cradling an untouched cup of water. Staring down at the liquid, lost in thought. A knock on the door almost made him jump as he felt far too eager to answer it. Setting the drink down he made his way over, opening it to reveal Roma. While he wouldn't shun anyone's company, she was definitely one of the people that he most longed to see . . . especially after her absence. Especially after thinking that she was dead. "Everything ok?" He asked, knowing that she was probably far from it, but was inquiring as to whether there was any immediate concern. Something that he could help with. He may not be one able to heal the psychological wounds of the trauma everyone experienced . . . but he would physically do whatever he could do help the others. Especially the former delinquents. And especially Roma.

Roma looked up at him as he opened the door, and she walked right into him. Her arms went around his middle and her head rested on his chest. He had asked her if everything was ok, and she knew this would be a good time to tell him they were doing test but right now she didn't want to deal with any of that. She only wanted to feel him holding her. Looking up at him, Roma found it was a bit easier to just smile up at him. Smiles had been rare for her in the last few months, but this one felt easy. She was where she wanted to be.
She had always kept her emotions close to her around him, knowing that they hadn't been a love match but she had always been fine with what he could give her. Right now though, she couldn't quite do it. "I spent the last few months alone." She told him, "I didn't want to be alone tonight." If her words didn't make it plain enough that she wanted him, then the fact that her palm flattened on his chest, and slowly moved down to the edge of his shirt, before sliding back up under it should make her intentions very clear. "Can I stay?" For the night, for however long he let her. He was the only one who could really give her the emotional comfort that she needed--because he had been the only one she loved before it.
