what's wrong WITH A LITTLE CHAOS Bellamy had just returned from their little outing. They had managed to find Jasper, but furthermore, they had found food. And Bellamy was taking full advantage of that fact. Wells had kiled it -- damn idiot wasted all of his bullets -- but Bellamy brought to the others. Therefore, he was shown as the provider. A role that the others were far too soft spoken and too naive to protest. He used the situation to his further advantage, saying that food would only be given in exchange for the others taking off their wristbands. And it was working. Quite well. There was a pile of the metal bracelets and it was one that continued to grow. People would need to eat. Hunger was stronger than the need for the Ark to know they were alive . . . and that was what Bellamy was currently praying on.
The more bracelets that came off, the more they would convince the Ark that Earth was not survivable. And thus they would not follow them down. Bellamy was standing, keeping watch as John and Murphy were taking off the bands and then Miller offering the stick of meat in exchange. Bellamy's eyes weren't on the entire line, just the person who came up for their turn. So when he saw who was next, he froze. His arms were folded across his chest but the surprise of seeing this person caused them to fall at his side. What. The. Hell.
Before John or Murphy had a chance to do anything, Bellamy grabbed her arm and pulled her to the side so that they were away from the group. The others didn't question it, they just continued on with what Bellamy had tasked them with. Gripping her arm, Bellamy just stared at her. This didn't make any sense! How . . . why . . . what . . . "What the hell are you doing here?!" He demanded, his voice not loud but stern and displaying of that surprise he felt over her presence. This place was filled with delinquents. And, she was 18. Yet she had a wrist band. Bellamy had a feeling that whatever answer she was about to give him . . . he wasn't going to like it.

Earth. Was. Hell. She hated it. At first it was all EARTH! FREEDOM! YEAH! And now it was a night of rain, and her hair was dirty, and she was in the same underwear for days, and she was hungry, and she had to pee outside! With others around! Worst earth ever. Finally though food was found! HOWEVER, it was by someone she had been avoiding--Bellamy Blake. She wasn't ready to face him yet, not with how things had ended and not with her lie about to come out. However hunger won out over pride. She was SO hungry. Standing in line she had no trouble with getting her bracelet off. She was never going to see her parents again, and they'd told her upon her arrest that they were disappointed in her. . . . ok, she didn't want her bracelet off, but she would for food.
However as it was finally her turn, and Bellamy was there, she felt him come over toward her. CRAP! She had hoped he wouldn't notice since that other kid had just stolen the food, and Bellamy had just beat up another. She'd never seen him violent. It was shocking how much he'd changed. AND NOW HE WAS DRAGGING HER AWAY!
Roma still didn't look up to his face, not ready to look at him. Not knowing that he had to know she had lied to him for months and that she wasn't 18 but an older looking 16 then. Now 17. "What the hell are you doing here?!" He demanded, and she shrugged at first. It was another few very long seconds before she tried to look up at him. "Stole a dress, got sent to Earth." She wanted to ask him what he was doing here, both in a smart ass way and in a real way--She knew his sister was here but HOW did he get here? "So . . . . enjoying your stay on Earth so far?"

what's wrong WITH A LITTLE CHAOS Normally, Bellamy was often amused with Roma's sass. Hell, he found it endearing. But not right now. At the present moment, he was too shocked at seeing her here to appreciate her wit or sassy comments -- even if they probably held truth to him. She didn't strke him as a violent criminal. Then agan, she didn't strike him as someone who would lie about her age either. He ignored basically everything she had said, returning to his initial question.
"That's not what I meant, and you damn well know it." He was not happy. He knew that their relationship wasn't exactly based on honesty. He did after all have an illegal sibling. But still! His grip moved to her wrist where the metal bracelet was as he raised it so that it was at eye level between them. "I know you didn't sneak onto the dropship," he stated. He wasn't an idiot. She broke the law, she would have been floated if she was how old she had told him over a year ago. He forcefully dropped her arm, releasing his hold of her but hardly allowing her passage to get any food. He wanted answers first. "How old are you?" He demanded. Because well, she clearly wasn't 18 as he had thought for the entire duration of their time together.

"That's not what I meant, and you damn well know it." That she did, but she was still feeling guilty and afraid of his reaction which was making her look away from him every now and then, until she had to force her eyes back him. She knew he'd not hurt her physically, but the last time she had seen him they'd been sweaty, half naked and she had stormed out anger and broken hearted--and now he was angry because he knew she lied. He pulled her arm up to make a point, "I know you didn't sneak onto the dropship," Clearly he did. Everyone knew that rumor by now.
She wondered if he even knew she was underage. Maybe she could tell him that she was about to be floated but they sent her down here in stead. "How old are you?" There it was. He knew. "Not 18." She told him, stalling for a few moments before looking at him and talking more. She didn't like confrontation with him, and everyone was watching them. Not because they could hear, but because their leader was clearly upset with her. Social status still meant a lot to her and this was like being on the bottom. "17 . . . . mostly . . . recently." As in she had not been when they'd . . . been friends.
She stepped closer to him and her voice got lower, "Look, I hadn't planned on lieing about it forever, Bellamy, but you know you'd not have looked at me twice had I been honest with you." She'd have told him--one day . . . years from then.

what's wrong WITH A LITTLE CHAOS Not 18. Well, that was helpful. Not. He knew she wasn't 18 and he knew she was stalling. Which only made him more impatient to get an answer to his question. And there it was. 17. Which meant that she had been . . . son of a bitch. 16 when they were together! His eyes slightly narrowed at her, clearly displeased by this entire revelation. Most recently she was 17. That did not make it any better. She then added on that she hadn't been planning on lying about it forever . . . he found that hard to believe.
"Why did you even give a damn if I looked at you twice?" He questioned, only somewhat rhetorically. He was not one who wanted to make a scene, especially when it came to his past encounters with women. So he did the same by lowering his voice, but he knew it was too late. While they may not be heard, they could definitely be seen. He took a step toward her. "You were 16," he stated. He wasn't sure if saying it out added further acknowledgment and made it mre real . . . or if he was just saying it so that she could continue to explain herself. "I can't believe you." That was all he could bring himself to say right now. She was 16 . . . 16!

"Why did you even give a damn if I looked at you twice?" Really? She was feeling a little bit bolder after that comment, and her arms came up to fold over her chest while she looked at him. Not in anger so much as in the need for self comfort. "You know damn well why!" She sassed back, knowing he had broken up with her for that same damn reason. He had used her need to get out of her farm life and pushed her right out of his bed. "You were 16," Clearly. "I can't believe you." Yeah well he could get in line. Her parents couldn't believe it either when she was arrested.
"You hid a person under a floor for 16 years!" She hissed quietly, "And I didn't judge you!" Out loud. She had thought it dumb when she found out, but now she had learned to accepted. That was just who he was! End of story! Roma shifted her weight before looking at the food over the fire and then back at him. "I am not going to apologize for something that meant something to me. If that ruins whatever good memories you decided to keep then that sucks for you, Bellamy. I want to keep mine in tack. If you are done making everyone stare at us, I would like to go eat now--and if not then can we at least move away from the crowd before everyone starts thinking I'm the next meal." Cause he wasn't pleased with her and the crowd could shift on her at a moments notice. She might not be safe tonight, and last night was hard enough.

what's wrong WITH A LITTLE CHAOS She shot back that he knew damn well why she had cared. Eventually, perhaps he did. Initially, it had been mutual attraction and just that lustful desire that brought them together. There had been nothing overl emotional in the beginning . . . not until they started spending more and more time together. She then told him that he hid a person under the floor and she didn't judge him. "That was completely different," he argued back. He had done it to save a life. She had lied for . . . well, he had no idea why. Initially anyway.
But, he couldn't judge. He wouldn't. There were bigger things to worry about right now. Which, she seemed to understand as she said that she wasn't going to apologize . . . revealing that it meant something to her. They were going to need to talk about that later, maybe. Hell they were both down here so it wasn't as if they could completely ignore each other.
She then said that if he was done making a scene, that she wanted to eat something. Bellamy remained, just looking at her, letting his mind still absorb this revelation -- and the fact that she was down here. "Take the bracelet off first," he told her. "Then, you can eat." Because he wasn't going to make any exceptions, for anyone. Not even her. With that, he stood there, his arms folded across his chest as he tilted his head to the side in the direction of where the food was being distrubted and the bracelets were being removed, motioning for her to go. He was done this conversation . . . for now.

They were not getting anywhere with this coversation. He was right, it was drifferent but it wasn't at the same time. They'd both lied, and for their own reasons. His was protecting someone, and her's was to make sure he--and the others--didn't send her away. "Take the bracelet off first," He demanded, and she was a little surprised at his tone. He'd never spoken to her that way. At least not until the end. "Then, you can eat." He folded his arms, and moved his head as if to tell her to hurry up. "You've changed." She told him, without heat to her tone.
She turned and walked to the mean looking minion--Murphy--and he took her her bracelet. It hurt to come off, but the pain of it was lessened when another guy handed her a stick with some meat on it. It smelled so good, and she'd not eaten in days. With one last look at Bellamy, she walked away from the fire and forced herself not to look back, even though everything in her wanted to so it so much.
Roma found a seat near a smaller fire and ate it quickly, finding it was the best thing she'd had in forever! Maybe because she had not ate anything in days or because it was real and not something grown. Once it was gone she sat with another group of girls--safety in numbers and all that. However as the night wore on, the filtered off to find their beds.

what's wrong WITH A LITTLE CHAOS She told him that he had changed. Damn right he had. He'd been forced to. His mother was floated, Octavia had been arrested and condemned to the same fate when she turned 18, he killed the Chancellor . . . and now they were on Earth. Bellamy had been forced to change. He needed to remain strong stoic. He needed to be guarded. So yes; he had changed. And this was who he was now; this was who he had to be. He briefly watched her as she got her bracelet off, and then was given the stick of meat.
He took a few steps toward Murphy and John once again as they brought forth the next person. Now that everyone had food in their system and the necessary strength that came with it, they could start setting up tents and preparing for the night. They couldn't half sleep in the drop ship and some people outside. It wasn't completely safe and the weather wasn't going to always cooperate. The air was cold -- far colder than any of them were used to.
Bellamy started collecting the tents that were sent down with them. Some people would have to double up. He himself planned to have his own tent though. As he was distrubuting them he noticed Roma sitting by the fire. Clutching a bundle that was the tent, he began to approach her until he was standing in front of her. "Here," he said, tossing the seemingly large piece of fabric into her lap. "You'll have to find a tentmate." Not a roomate cause they didn't have rooms. "There's not enough for everyone to get their own." And he had prioritized himself to be one of he few that got his own.

"Here," Roma had been lost in thought had didn't hear him approach. So she jumped when the tent hit her lap. Even though it had no where else to fall she moved as if to scramble to catch it. THen she looked up at Bellamy with a slightly surprised face. Not from his giving her a tent, but he had sort of snuck up on her. Not that it was hard here. "You'll have to find a tentmate." She had a tent! At lest the rain would be off her! Roma hugged her to her while still watching him. "There's not enough for everyone to get their own." No, she had seen him last night with the other girl. Or well, had seen her some out half naked his morning. It had been very clear that he'd moved on from them.
"Thanks," She said softly, pushing toward a stand and then looking down at the tent. She had no idea how to build this. She didn't even know who to ask for help from with out them expecting more from her--which once she might have been willing to give in exchange for things but the annoying part about falling for someone meant you didn't have her heart in the game any longer. "If you find any soap in that wreckage, let me know, yeah?" She asked, while still looking at the tent in her hands.

what's wrong WITH A LITTLE CHAOS He just looked at her as she thanked him, and then asked him to let her know if they would find any soap. Really. Soap? That was her concern?! And yet, it didn't surprise him. He was just irritated about the entire situation . . . about the fact that she had lied to him about her age. He had his reasons for lying about Octavia, and . . . well, he supposed she had hers. Not ones he was about to cut her slack for right now. He couldn't be the same Bellamy Blake he was on the Ark. That man was gone the moment he lost his mother, the moment his sister was arrested . . . and the moment he shot the Chancellor.
"Soap should not be your biggest concern right now," he told her. Food. Med kits. Shelter. Those were all things they needed to work on attaining. Hopefully Clarke and them would find something useful. His sister was among them, and he was also trying to push back his own fear of something happening to her since he didn't exactly trust the people who went out in search of Mount Weather. "You know how to set that up?" He questioned, referring to the tent of course. The more distractions he could provide himself with, the better.

"Soap should not be your biggest concern right now," Roma's head jerked up to look at his, and she felt like the scolded 12 year old. Or that little girl running around! She wasn't a kid anymore! Hell she was one of the oldest people here. Top 10! She was within the 10 oldest people on Earth. "It's one of my concerns." She snapped back but it was more frustration then anger. She hated Earth! She hated this place! She hated the smells! She hated the dark! She hated how he stood there and looked at her! "You know how to set that up?" She hated how useless she was here!
"Clearly I don't!" She said hugging it to her, her voice a frustrated groan more then snapping at him--though that was there too a bit, but even not knowing how to set it up didn't mean she was giving it up to anyone else! She wanted her tent and she was going to pick who she shared it with! It was her own little bit of power here! "I don't know how to build a tent. I don't know how to build a fire. I don't know the difference between grass and whatever that guy is eating--" She gestured to some guy over away from them, but he wasn't her point. She stepped closer to Bellamy and looked up at him.
"I hate Earth, I hate this place, and I hate that I wasn't supposed to be here! Like I failed Earth skills, on purpose! I didn't need to know it, because I wasn't ever going there and then I get send here!" She took a deep breath because that had come out really fast, and now she was fighting back tears. She hated it here! Everyone danced and laughed and had fun but she hated it here. Everything scared her. The people around her, the sounds she didn't hear, the ones she did hear! She just wanted something she could control! Soap! Water! Something!

what's wrong WITH A LITTLE CHAOS It was one of her concerns. How so very typically . . . Roma. His question regarding her knowledge of setting up a tent seemed to trigger something far deeper as she went into an elaboration of how she hated it down here; how she didn't know how to start a fire or the difference between things. She revealed that she failed Earth Skills because she had never thought she would need those skills . . . but alas, here she was, sent down to Earth. Bellamy waited until she got it all out of her system, noticing that she took a deep breath after her little rant . . . which was fine.
If this situation was anything, it was certainly stressful he supposed. He waited a few moments before speaking. "So . . . that's a no on making a tent?" He asked sarcastically, just being a smart ass about the subject. Without any further prompting, he began to collect the required pieces and proceeded to assemble the tent for her. "Would you have rather been floated?" He asked, somewhat rhetorically.
Most of the crimes weren't pardoned. The Ark used any excuse they could get to float people so majority of the delinquents here . . . well, it was either getting floated or Earth. "Look if you think people here know exactly what the hell they're doing, you're wrong." They didn't. Everyone was just enjoying the newfound freedom, but no one was thinking ahead. Even if Bellamy didn't voice it as much as the Princess, there were legitmate concerns.
Food. Proper shelter. Water. They had a lot to set up. "It's a matter of using the skills you do have, not expecting everyone to have all of them." The Monty kid was good with plants. Octavia's skills in seamstressing were coming in handy. "Everyone has something to offer. You just gotta figure what you have that can be useful." Roma wasn't stupid. She had her strengths. But he wasn't going to coddle her. He wasn't going to coddle anyone here. Once the tent was done he stopped and looked at it to make sure it was leveled and sturdy.

"So . . . that's a no on making a tent?" Roma's eyes narrowed at him, and the glare could have killed had it been a gun. However before she could speak, or storm off he took the tent from her, and begin building it for her. It softened her anger, mostly because she knew he wasn't doing this for everyone. Or at least she had not seen he doing it for everyone--which meant . . . . . she didn't know what the hell it meant. She would have thought it meant he still felt whatever he had felt on the Ark toward her, but he had also kicked her out of his bed and his life. . . . and then asked her to come meet him. She never had learned why.
"Would you have rather been floated?" Yeah. No. She didn't know. She didn't want to die here. She didn't want to live here either! Honestly, she would guess the answer was no, she would not rather get flaoted. She just didn't like that a dress had got her a permit stay in hell. "Everyone has something to offer. You just gotta figure what you have that can be useful." Was he telling her to offer her self to someone for protection? "I don't think sarcasm is going to be a needed skill here." Because they both knew her skills were not in anything but social, and pounding. Deciding that wasn't what he meant, she tried to think of other skills. She was a farmer's daughter . . . . was she supposed to grow something here? She didn't know how to grow something. She had fought tooth and nail to not go to work with her parents everyday! Looking around she wondered what she could do. "I could help you do something." She offered, knowing he had a posy of boys at his side but maybe she could help them do something else.
He was looking at the finished tent, and she moved to stand beside him, looking at it as well. After a long moment she turned to face him. "Can I ask you something?" Roma waited for him to at least look at her before she kept talking. "On the Ark, you asked me to meet you, but I was arrested before I could come." It was why she had not shown up. She had wanted too, but a few hours before she had gotten arrested and locked away. She figured that he would either hear about it--which he didn't--or figure she didn't want to see him. "Why did you want to see me?"

what's wrong WITH A LITTLE CHAOS She was right about that. Sarcasm was not a skill that would be well received. It would probably result in some sort of fight. The sassy ones here were already mouthing off and provoking other people. Hopefully Roma had the sense to stay away from that. But considering he felt like he barley knew her . . . no. He imagined her personality was the same. It was her age that was the massive change from what he knew about her. She then told him that she could help him do something. "I don't think that skill will be useful either." His words were a bit of a mocking tease. He didn't know how she meant it, but he was clearly teasing -- with lacking joviality and humor in his tone and voice -- about certain things that she could 'help' him with. Taking into consideration the nature of what they had on the Ark anyway.
When the tent was done, he quickly looked it over to make sure it was stable looking enough. She then moved toward him, questioning as to whether she could ask him something. He didn't respond to her first question, but his silence, his gaze, and the fact that he was still standing there was answer enough. When she did ask what she wanted to, he continued to remain silent. His turned his head so that he was looking at the tent rather than her. "Doesn't matter," he said dismissively. He knew how he had hurt her. And he had hated himself all the more for it. But that was on the Ark. Down here, they needed to be something else. Everyone did. He had killed a man to come down here so that he could protect his sister. That was not a darkness that he could easily return from. It did however put his mind at a strange sense of ease, to know that she had intended to see him.
That she had gotten arrested rather than not wanting to meet him. Though, for her own safety, he would have preferred her not coming wasn't the result of her getting sent to prison. It took him a few moments to realize that he was still standing there, his subconscious pushing him to tell her the truth. They were here on Earth now. The sooner they got this conversation over with, the sooner it could be forgotten. "I had wanted to apologize." He didn't usually apologize for anything, and didn't intend to now. But . . . with her, it was different. He had a history with her. He would have said it on the Ark and here was his second chance to say it now. Hopefully, she knew what he was apologizing for. And then again, it was quite obvious considering the nature of their last conversation on the Ark.
