Haven't written in ages, sorry if it's shit Iah would be idk 13/14 here? Isaiah pulled down the sleeves of his shirt, as he was doing too often these days. His clothes were growing smaller on him by the day. The more his arms and legs seemed to shoot out, the less confident he really felt about his habits of sneaking around Mount Weather. But honestly, what else was there for him to do? Nothing had settled deeper into Isaiah than the feeling of being trapped within the walls of the bunker. And so, as he found a door down an empty corridor, he was never able to resist the urge to try to get past it. At this point in the day, light lowering to reflect the setting of the outside sun, Iah wasn't quite certain what area he was in. He had even lost track of what level he was on. But that didn't matter, the door in front of him was new. It held behind it the most interesting thing Iah could think of. And, well, not much about his home was interesting any longer so that was a very low bar. His heart sped up and he crouched down behind an indent in the wall. The sound of footsteps echoed in the otherwise silent hallway. In fear of being seen, he couldn't actually move his head to see who it was walking past him. He only caught sight of black shoes and the cuffs of suit pants. Definitely nothing identifiable from that. Seeing someone walking towards the door gave Iah an idea. If he could just get there quick enough, maybe he could get through the door. The indents in the wall were at equal intervals and Iah took advantage of that, waiting until the stranger had moved far enough to tiptoe around and back down behind the next. There was a worrying itching in the back of Iah's mind, wondering what would happen if he got caught. He was looking less like a child now, and while he just got a talking to usually, maybe it would be more than that? But no, everyone knew Iah. He doubted he would actually get into trouble. As he made it to the final indent before the door, his eyes focused on it. The beep as the keycard was swiped and then it opened. The shoes, owned by a tall man that Iah couldn't recognise from behind, walked through the door. And Iah followed. He grabbed hold of the door before it swung completely shut. His breath let out and he stood as still as he could until the man turned a corner and was out of sight. He was in. Where was he though? As he looked around, his hand stayed on the door behind him, leaving it hovering just open. His eyes flickered around, taking in the room. Well, the hallway. It was concrete and the lights were harsh but not quite bright enough. This didn't look like most of the places he had been. Yes, the corridor outside the door had looked off too but that wasn't behind a locked door. He had to make a decision though, and so with one last glance behind him, he slowly let the door click shut behind him. He moved down the hallway, keeping his eyes open for the man or anyone else who might be around. He turned the corner the man had and then moved past multiple doors before coming to another corner. He screamed. Suddenly in front of him were two people. One of them Iah recognised but couldn't remember the name of. The other, well, they didn't quite look human? That wasn't the right way to put it, no, the man didn't look like any human that would live in Mount Weather. His skin was sun-tanned, and he was shirtless, showing a level of muscularity that seemed over the top. |
