Roan tell the wolves i'm home
Roan blinked awake and tried to remember what had happened. The world had been ending and he knew he was going to die. Some of his people were safe underground, but there had been a chance for him and some of the others to go into space, and he had tried to take it. Yet the storm had come too quickly, and he'd been trapped outside. They'd left, as they should have. They couldn't kill everyone for one man. He'd been in the field when he saw the storm coming, and he'd made his peace.
So why was he not dead? Testing out his body he hurt to move. Everything hurt to move as he tried to sit up and look around. His skin as welts and sores all over it, but they looked older not fresh. The nightblood. It had worked. With an annoyed grunt Roan pushed up off the ground. Everything was dead around him and the sun was dangerously hot. If he didn't find shelter soon he was going to die. Again. Turning he slowly walked, more limped, toward the lab they had been using. He would find shelter there and figure out what to do.

Nobody expected to be able to survive the end of the world and yet here she was. Clarke woke with the damning clarity that she was most likely the last living person on the surface of this planet let. Her friends were either in a bunker or had gone back to the Ark in space. And suddenly the calculations on the Ark made so much more sense. Back up there they were taught earth wasn't survivable for another few decades, the time earth would need in order to start to be survivable again from the burning down of the nuclear power plant. Somehow the Ark must have had that data and they had forgotten about that crucial part. No matter what, there had been miscalculations that prevented them from being able to survive up there until that point, not in the number they had been. And now...there was a chance this was it, the end of humanity itself.
Clarke dragged herself to the control panels and powered them up. Thanks to the lab being built as it was she could survive here for a bit. They still had some food stored here, water, too, for a little while this would be he haven. Or perhaps not. Five years were a long time, especially alone. With shaking hands she slowly pulled up the footage she could, reviewing the damage done by the death wave. Every single camera was out now, there was none that through luck documented that patch of land that apparently remained. Chances were it wasn't even on this continent.
To her surprise the lab door indicated being opened, which was entirely impossible. It had to be a malfunction so she grabbed tools to hopefully close it... except there was a shadow in the light that came from outside, a human shadow. Someone else survived. Given the height, it had to be ... "Roan?"

Roan tell the wolves i'm home It took hours but Roan finally made it tot he lab, which thankfully looked like it was standing and whole. He leaned aginst it, and rested there for a moment before pushing toward the door. He needed water, and prayed there was some here. Pushing up the door he stumbled in, and leaned on it to shut it. Hearing his name, he turned to see the last person he expected to see. "Clarke."
They'd left her too? Maybe they were more like Azgeda then he thought. Or they hadn't been able to go. No. He'd saw the ship. "Left you behind too?" He asked, moving slowly toward her. He was exshultest and needed to sit. "How many are here?" Roan took the first few steps, and then sat on them to rest. He looked over her face, trying to see how much she'd endured as well. If she was hurt.
