How cute. Earth Skills. As if I will ever need to know any of that. We aren't going to Earth for another hundred years, so me learning some pointless tricks on how to make fire is only wasting my time, and I have more important people to do. Roma
Roma hated Earth. She hated the smells and the sounds and the way everything moved at night and the sounds at night and the fear they lived in. Grounders? They couldn't call them something normal? Lets just make them sound creepy! While building the wall Roma was avoiding as much work as she could. She could do it, but she didn't want to do it. Her goal on the Ark had been simple--get the hell out of farm station by finding a guy on his way and marry him. Once he became important then her life would be easy! She had been looking at guardsmen. Now that was a distant dream.
Walking over to sit by the fire, she looked at the other girl. The girl that lived 16 years under the floor. Octavia Blake. Roma picked up her water canteen and offered it to her. Might as well make friends. Roma loved to make friends and be the center of attention. Loved gossip. Loved being gossiped about. "So like, what was it like?" Roma asked, thinking that was the best way to make friends. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

Earth was a dream. Everything about it was better than Octavia could have ever imagined. She loved the smells and the sounds and the way everything moved, whether night or day. She had the urge to roam it, to discover everything that there was to discover here. It was all so open and free, when all that she had ever known was small spaces and rules. They could make anything of themselves here. She could be anyone she wanted to be. The only thing standing in her way was big brother, still trying to keep her under the floor if he could. But then again, Bellamy was a pretty busy man these days. Night had only begun to fall, and Octavia found herself drawn to the fire. This, too, was wonderful, even if they made it. Who'd have really thought that the things Charles Pike was teaching them would be useful only a few months later? She'd actually enjoyed the class, though really she had been excited by the fact that she was with other kids and learning something other than what books and Bellamy could teach her. She should have paid more attention to what he was saying. But she'd learn what she needed to out here. A voice spoke next to her, and Octavia turned her eyes from the fire to the speaker. Roma. She'd tried to learn most of the names of the kids down here, but that was about where her knowledge of most of them ended. Smiling, she accepted the proffered water canteen. "Thanks," she said, unscrewing the lid and taking a sip. She wasn't particularly thirsty, but it seemed like the thing you should do if someone offers you a canteen of water. Especially if you want to make friends. Octavia screwed the lid back on and offered it back to Roma. "What was... what like?"
