wamfou shuda OSIR DU CHIT OSIR SOUDA These people were not warriors. Not in the slightest. They had a short time to learn the basics and at this point, there was one main thing they needed to learn how to do: aim, and shoot to kill. It was far easier said than done, but if they were smart, then they could outwit the enemy. The people who raided their land were trained warriors and though Agovell would fight -- as was the agreement -- the others still needed to be able to fight back. Some were already building barriers, others collecting provisions to store, another solidifying a place for the children to hide.
That, was where Agovell's greatest concern was. This plan was risky enough but it was not his life nor the life of the farmers he cared about. If the children were discovered . . . if Strik Won was discovered, then it would all be for nothing. "Who can shoot?" He asked the crowd, inquiring to see if anyone had any experience with weaponry. Some farmers were retired warriors. Others were still trained to fight. With as many able bodied women and men as were here, Agovell was hoping for at least a few who were comfortable and familiar with a bow and arrow.

Omera .
Omera stood in the group with the others, and felt Winta standing by her side. Lifting her arm she wrapped it around her daughter and watched Agovell began to explain what they were going to do. She wanted Winta to be apart of this and apart of helping the village. Giving her that power would help make sure she wasn't afraid or at least was brave even while afraid. They needed to fight. He couldn't fight them all, and this was their home! Omera wasn't opposed to fighting. She didn't enjoy it but knew that sometimes you needed to take what was yours.
He asked who could shoot. Some half raised their hands but then lowered them. They could shot but they were hunters. They didn't have the pin point accuracy that warriors did.
However, Omera did. She had taken up the sport a few times when others had passed through. It had been fun to learn, and seemed practical. So, hesitantly, she raised her hand. Winta looked up at her Mom and smiled. Yes, she could shoot. Not overly well, but she could hit the target. of Santru

wamfou shuda OSIR DU CHIT OSIR SOUDA Had Agovell had any expectations, he would have been disappointed. Hesitant hands were not reassuring. Only one person raised it with . . . still reluctance, but a certain confidence at the same time. Omera. Well, this was going to be even more challenging. Though, not impossible. If these people insisted staying on the farm instead of fleeing, then they were willing to pay the price. The cost of their lives. For, there would be blood shed and not just on the side of the enemy.
Agovell moved to take out a bow and an arrow, passing it to Omera and turning to face the pillar that served as a support to one of the houses. A pillar, he expected her to hit without saying so much. He wanted to see the extent of her abilities. Shooting with a bow and arrow took a great deal of skill. Precision. Timing. And she could not hesitate. Not for a moment. If this was the only archer they had in their midst, then he was going to have her train the others with the weapon, while he dealt with the remainder of the plan. But first, he needed to see if she was actually good enough to do so.

Omera .
He didn't say anything, just silently moved to pick up a bow and pass it too her. Omera removed her arm from her daughter before reaching for the bow and arrow. She held them both for a moment, almost waiting for direction but then decided she knew what he wanted. As quickly as she could she lifted the bow, loaded the arrow, and fired it to send it directly into the pillar.
While it wasn't with the speed of a warrior her moments were quick and sure. She even managed to hint the pillar about head high, which would have been a kill had she been aiming at someone coming for her home and livelihood. It had been a few years since she used the bow but it had felt natural in her hands. So she moved to pick up to more, and fired them as well. Her reload time was the slowest part, and would need some work but both arrows hit fairly close to each other.
Winta jumped up and down, and then both girls looked at Agovell to see what he thought. Well, perhaps not to SEE what he thought but to hear what he though since he still covered his face. of Santru

wamfou shuda OSIR DU CHIT OSIR SOUDA Agovell watched as she launched the first arrow. Initially, his gaze was upon it, seeing where it hit, how much precision. It went fairly deep into the wood, which showed the strength in which she fired. He then turned his gaze to her, seeing her reload and relaunch, each hitting the intended target. When she had said she could shoot, he had not expected her to be so . . . skill full.
He knew better than to hold any expectations or standards but if he had . . . she would have exceeded them. When she was done, and her eyes turned to him, he realized he'd been watching her, instead of the arrows. So he gave a nod and then turned to look at the weapons. "Will you show the same resolve and poise when it is a person?" To aim at a wooden pillar was one thing. To take a life, was another. "For each arrow must count." Meaning, each one had to take a life if they were to be remotely successful in this endeavour. And right now, that part relied heavily on her as she apparently was the only one who knew how to shoot.

Omera .
He watched her, and Omera wondered if that meant she had done well or if that hadn't been what he meant. It was hard without seeing his face to know what he was thinking. It left her unsure and a little off. Yet, there was something about his calm demeanor, and the power that was behind every move that left her comforted about what they were doing. He didn't seem like a man who knew how to fail, and he would not let them fail. While he wasn't going to protect them, he was helping them and it meant the world to her.
Would she be able to shot a person? Omera turned her head to look down at her daughter and imagined someone coming for her. Looking back up at where she'd assumed his face was, she spoke in a sure tone. "Yes, I could." If it meant protecting the life of the children here. She could shot a person. It wouldn't be easy for her, but it wouldn't stop her either. Winta came first. Something she thought he could understand as a father with a daughter. of Santru

wamfou shuda OSIR DU CHIT OSIR SOUDA The way she looked at her daughter, the expression on her face . . . it was answer enough. But she further validated it by telling him that she could. It was all he needed to hear. "Pick who to train," he told her. She knew the villagers better than him, and he was going to use that knowledge as he didn't have time to sift and filter through each person to determine whether they held potential.
"The others will help build barriers." They had a lot of work to do and a short time to do it. "How many bows and arrows do you have?" He asked her. They may need more weapons and if that was the case, then they were going to need to put some of them to task to ensure they were properly armed. The last thing they needed was to run out of arrows in such critical moments, that would literally be the difference between life and death.
