Roan tell the wolves i'm home It was death for him to come here but death would be the only thing that kept him away from her this night. Roan knew how to get in unseen. Living as a hunter for years had thought him how to move without being noticed. It helped that his hair and bread kept him from being recognized with ease. It took hours but he was able to get into the city, and into her bedroom without anyone being wiser.
Walking around the room he took in everything in it but his mind didn't take it all in. He was thinking about her. This would would be easy for Luna for hated the kill. It was why she had once ran away. Yet if she did it now then part of her would die with the others. The children. He wanted her to fight and win. He could return to his wife then. He would be pleased too if he could get her away and they could disappear to beyond the deadzone and live there.
The door opened and Roan moved swiftly back into the shadows that the fire didn't light. He waited to make sure she was alone before stepping out. "Luna," he called softly not sure if the guards were near the door.

Kom woda ‘so gyon op, gon woda ‘so kom daun from water we are born, to water we return W hile Luna had always known this day would come, things were far more complicated than she ever could have imagined. Her husband was exiled and she . . . was with child. Luna had never had any intention to fight in the Conclave, despite Nia's commands. She had every intention of dropping her sword and succumbing to her fate. But things had become radically complicated. Her husband who she hadn't expected to love but did, was still banished. Her position as Heda would lift that banishment. And as if that was not enough . . . she was with child. A baby was growing inside of her and it made Luna realize that in order to save her baby, she would have to kill the others.
The thought made her uneasy and her stomach unsettled. Fortunate to have the night to herself, she made herself scarce from the people who were within the tower, making her way to her designated room as she closed the door behind her. She did not wish for anyone's company. Not Titus. Not the guards. Not Nia. And yet, perhaps the only person who's company she did desire, was still banished. Which was why when someone emerged from the shadows, she spun her head to the side in surprise. Seeing him step into view. Luna quickly close the door behind her and hurriedly made her way over to him, wrapping her arms around her husband. "You are foolish to be here," she softly scolded, the risk so great to him, and yet it was clear that she wanted him to be. Selfishly, she wanted him to be. For, she needed to tell him about the baby as well.

Roan tell the wolves i'm home Luna rush toward him and Roan opened his arms to hold his wife to him. Closing his eyes for a moment he was realized he would get to see her before the fight. The hug was tight but short as he pulled away to look at her. "They could put all 12 clans between us and I would have come." He didn't see it as foolish. If she lived he needed to be here. If she died . . . if she died then he was dead anyway. Let them find him here.
Lifting his hand up to her cheek he looked over her face and knew that tomorrow everything changed. Pulling her face to his he kissed her forehead and then pulled her back into his chest to hold her. A bloody fight to the death with the strongest commander to arise out had always seemed like a good way to make sure that their commander was the most able. The strongest. Now he wasn't so sure it was the best way. "I can't get you out of here," he told her, the words spoken against her hair since he didn't let her go to say them. They were both matter of fact and regretful. They had no choice but to continue on the path.

Kom woda ‘so gyon op, gon woda ‘so kom daun from water we are born, to water we return O n some level she knew that. And while she loved that about him, the unwavering loyalty they held toward one another . . . she still stood by her words. The last thing she wanted was for him to be harmed in his attempt to see her. Though, he had never been unsuccessful in it. She closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of his lips on her skin before he held her against him. She took comfort in the feeling, engulfed by his arm, taking in his scent and just the way he felt.
"They learned from the past." Meaning, when she had escaped before and the guards would ensure such an abomination would not take place twice in the history of the Conclave. While she knew he couldn't, the words still elicited that fear . . . intensified it. For now they knew there was really no other choice but to fight. To fight, or to fall. "When Nia first took me, I never intended to fight in the Conclave." She hadn't had any intention of fighting in it, ever. She would have rather fallen then take another life. "But circumstance has changed so much." From falling in love with her husband to him being exiled to . . . their baby that grew in her womb.
