Finn Collins is an athletic, and physically fit young man. He has long brown hair that reaches the base of his neck and brown eyes that clearly convey his emotions, and a light skin complexion.

When people meet Finn Collins he comes across as a bad boy; he can be reckless, chases adrenaline rushes, and always seems to be on the lookout for danger. But his personality isn't as black and white as people assume. Finn is loyal to a fault. He will put his own life and safety at risk to protect those he cares for, especially Clarke and Raven.

Finn is playful, and energetic, and adventurous. He likes to explore, takes risks, and isn't one to back down from a challenge but he doesn't care for violence and fighting. He wants peace between the delinquents and the grounders, and later between the ark and the grounders. Finn is smart and picks up on this quickly, which has led to him being one fot he top students in Earth Skills and a vital member of the delinquent camp.

Finn, like all the delinquents, was born on the Ark. He had a good childhood and his childhood friend, Raven Reyes, whom he would give food, would become his girlfriend once they were older. For her eighteenth birthday he arranged a spacewalk for her which resulted in the lost of two months of oxygen.

Knowing that Raven would be floated for the crime, as she was eighteen, he took her place and took the blame. Following the Arks laws he was sent to the Skybox, where he was to be imprisoned until his eighteenth birthday. However he and ninety-nine other underage criminals were sent to earth.
