MY RESPONSIBILITY
This was so damn wrong. Bellamy had caught wind of what Cage was doing, and as he had not yet gone to Dante, Bellamy wasn't sure if the man had approved this plan of his son's. Instead, he decided to investigate first. Being in a leading position among the Mountain Men, he had never had the need to come down to this area. Emerson was in charge of it and Cage often spent time here with Dr. Tsing. But recently, Bellamy's suspicions grew more and more, and he could no longer dismiss them.
He may be the only one who was able to go outside, but if what he feared was true . . . it didn't give his people the right to take the lives of others. No matter how much he wanted it for them. Surely, there had to be a better way. But there in lay the conflict. Freedom for his people versus the morality of the situation. Yet when Bellamy stepped into the empty lab, one side certainly seemed to outweigh the other. His eyes slightly widened as he saw a brown haired woman, hanging upside down with IVs and tubes inserted into her and attached to a machine.
She was incredibly blame which indicated one thing: blood loss. Instinct took over as Bellamy hurried towards her, disabling the machine so it would stop sucking the blood from her body. He then began to lower her to the ground, and just when he back touched it, he saw her start to stir. Quickly, he moved towards her, kneeling at her side as he placed his hand over her mouth, his other hand placing his index finger over his lips to urge her to stay quiet. "Don't make a sound," he instructed her. "I'm going to help you," he added in the same hushed tone of voice.
