whatever THE HELL WE WANT Never did Bellamy Blake think that he would be in space with this particular group of people. Some, yes it was easy to believe. But others? Not so much. Some more surprising than others. But the what ifs and shock didn't have time to set in. They all had to work together; they all had to peacefully coexist if they were going to survive the next five years. At least. So each person had their own duties, and Emori was learning the controls. Along with the other's help of course. Each person brought a certain skillset to the group and they would play to their strengths. Bellamy didn't know much about Emori, but . . . they he had all the time to get to know her.
It was late and sleep often eluded the Blake sibling, so he found himself wandering, seeing a shadowed figure in the not so far distance. It wasn't hard to place her -- there weren't that many to choose from. Making his way, he approached her. "You're up late," he pointed out. More as a means of offering an explanation as to why in case she wanted to talk about it, rather than making a blatantly obvious statement. "Couldn't sleep?" She most certainly wasn't the only one. He knew that out of all of them, Emori and Echo would have the hardest time adjusting to being contained in such close quarters, in space. Bellamy wasn't blind to that difficulty and he wanted to offer what support he could to them. To all of them.

Emori had been excited at the prospect of going to space, of course she'd been nervous too but her anxiety had been overwhelmed by the sheer excitement of going into space. She'd always been curious about the place where John had grown up, she could only find out so much from asking questions and she'd always got the feeling that he didn't enjoy talking about it. However, now that she was actually living in space with the others, she was finding it hard to adapt. The ground hadn't exactly been friendly to her, every day was a fight down there but she'd be lying if she said that she didn't miss it. It was the place where she'd grown up, the place where she and Otan had grown up. It was hard to imagine that there was nothing left of the life she had once led and even harder for her to get a decent nights rest on the space station. The silence was much harder to adjust to than the meagre rations of food that they were forced to live off of, she'd gone without food before but never had she had to endure a night of near total silence.
The sound of approaching footsteps dragged the young woman from her thoughts and she turned to see a figure walking towards her from down the hall. She knew immediately that it was Bellamy, it was too tall to be anyone else and as he drew closer, her suspicions were only confirmed. At his question, she shook her head "It's too quiet" she muttered by way of an explanation. Even with John sleeping beside her, there wasn't enough background noise, there weren't any insects or birds to break the silence in the space station... It would take some getting used to. "Why can't you sleep?" she questioned him, she'd assumed that Skaikru would find it easier to sleep in space, it's where they'd spent the majority of their lives after all, but maybe she'd been wrong in her assumption.
