Things were quite settled in the bunker, but every day was filled with some event or another. The grounders and arkers were still learning to peacefully coexist, not to mention there were still tensions between the clans. Miler remained on the guard, tasked with security and making sure no one killed each other. Which, was harder than one may think. Especially when everyone was in such close quarters. But alas, it was early enough in the morning, and Miller had some time before his shift started so decided to spend said time with the one other person that he was perhaps closest to out of anyone else. The one person that always made his heart flutter and he was finding himself more and more in need of their company. As he grew closer to him, his emotions grew stronger. And while nothing was revealed quite yet, Miller felt it. So he gave a light knock on Jackson’s designated quarters, but when there was no answer, he slowly pushed opened the door. The bed was made, looking as if no one had been in it. Miller took a slow breath, knowing what this meant. He had tried to have dinner with Jackson last night, but he was working late. And now not seeing Jackson this morning led Miller to believe one thing: the doc had pulled an all nighter. Even though they weren’t technically a couple, Miller still felt this sense of, obligation to look after Jackson. So with that determination in mind, he made his way to the medical bay and as suspected, Jackson was there tending to patients. Miller stood in the threshold of the door, watching him for a few moments as his presence went unnoticed. Jackson was so damn dedicated to his job, and watching him in action, only made Miller’s heart swell even more. But he knew he couldn’t just stare like this forever. So he took the few steps into the room. “Let me guess, didn’t sleep at all last night?” He asked him, already knowing the answer. |
