.:Name:. Thalia Tait
.:Nick Name:. T-Squared
.:Affiliation:.The 100 (novel origins)
.:Age:. 17
.:Build:. Willowy, average height, lean, and soft, she has the build of someone from one of the poorer regions on the Ark. She didn't get much over the allotted UV ration, though her work helped get slightly above the proper nutrition. She is lean from work, carries more strength in her legs than in her arms and is rather dexterous, if clumsy on her feet.

.:Physical Appearance:. She is pale and covered in light freckles with wane blue eyes. While everything about her is sunlight depraved, her dark hair is ash brown like tree bark in shadows and her smile is rather sunny, hiding any of her darker moods. Naturally her hair is wavy and was a bit shorter cut than most girls’ hair just because it was easier to deal with when worker and didn't require as much mantience. On the ground it is long and always looks wind blown, as if she never has time or put any thought to maintaining its care, which might be true since she is easily distracted and enjoys walking and running.
.:Height:. 5’5”
.:Portrayed by:. Kaya Scodelario
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Thalia is a mellow personality for the most part. She is rather good-natured, creative, cheerful, and a pretty intense romantic. But stress can take its toll on even the most optimistic personalities. Nightmares plague her sleep. Memories of her failure have scarred her confidence.
Small duties are fine for her dependable nature, but if it’s something that holds too much importance? She crumbles. She is not a leader. Thalia just cannot handle large responsibilities that involve people’s lives and it makes her feel guilty. Her creativity can be put to use and help others, but things like fights, heavy decisions, and tough choices? You better looks for someone else to help you first. Everyone else in camp might be a good place to look.
Beneath her well worn smiles is a bit of dark and more skittish person. She doesn't trust much of anyone, knowing most people would rather live for their own gain and betray even their closest friend to get what they want. She is torn between hating Arkers for their overdone heirarchy that never works, and Grounders for their savage brutality.
But she does try to be cheerful, even it she gets confused. If her father was around to support her, perhaps if anyone was around to support her, she would be far more optimistic than she truly is. And she wouldn't have to hide behind her smiles.
She is also deathly afraid of burning alive and drowning.
.:Special Skills:. She is pretty creative when it comes to patch work and sewing. She can also tell poisonous plants from edible ones…for the most part. Hey, her information is a bit out dated, what do you expect? Those books she glanced through never happen to mention 'after the world ended' plants. Also she has a creative streak in cooking. So, uh, watch out.

.:Birthplace:. The Ark (former Walden Zone resident)
.:Family:. Felmer Tait (father), Louisa Tait(mother, deceased)
.:Occupation:. Farmer in Training (former) Food Handler (present)
.:History:. She was born as most children on the Ark are born: from a married couple who were permitted to have a single child. Her mother was a seamstress and her father a farmer, which meant she’d either be one or the other. And in Walden it wasn’t so hard to fit her into training for the farmer job when there were already so many seamstresses. She would help her mother though, when her mother was alive. But everyone’s time comes. And her mother’s… Well, at least it was quick and painless.
And then her father got sick. The bad kind of sick. On the Ark it was uncommon for people to be ill and not contagious, but her father was. It could be cured by the Medical Center’s medicine, however the Council had to vote on whether or not it should be used to cure him. The Council decided to cure this one man, Thalia’s father, would be endanger the many. With limited medical supplies, they’d deemed his prospects too grim to be worth the resources. As a farmer, with his daughter so close to the age of becoming fully trained in a year or two in his own profession, it was decided by logic. The daughter could replace the father in time anyway. So why save a dying, expendable man?
Thalia couldn’t believe the cold-heart decision of the Council. Her father was loyal to the colony. He had never stepped out of line. He had always done everything he could to feed the colony. And this was how he was repaid? Thalia couldn’t stand it. She couldn’t bear to see him die. Not while there was medicine that could save him. She couldn’t watch him slowly die right in front of her.
So she tried, for the first time in her life, to go against the colony, to go against the Council. To steal the medicine that could save her father.
And she failed.
They caught her before she could even leave the Medical Center. Her father never got the medicine and underage Thalia was confined to the Sky Box.
With her birthday only a couple of months away, something odd happened. Guards started pulling prisoners out of their cells, strapping metal bracelets to their wrists. There was no explanation. They were simply escorted to a pod, strapped into their seats and forgotten about.
Earth. They were going to go home. Either that or die on a toxic green and blue planet their ancestors had so successfully ravaged.
The fall to Earth was harsh, landing harsher. Two kids died, though arguably due to their own stupidity. But when that door opened and the golden blinding sun passed over Thalia’s face… It was so incredible Thalia could help but cry.
If only her father could see it. But she might never really know if he was dead or alive.
{On the Ground}
She got burned when she tripped into a fire while trying to roast meat on a spit. Her hand and some of her arm was burn, but it is mostly discoloration. That was also how she met Clarke. She and the blonde healer were a bit distant, but Thalia has always respected the healer and admired her leadership skills.
Her first time meeting Bellamy was when he convinced her that skinning and preparing caught meat would be good for the camp. She accepted whole-heartedly and with enthusiasm. The two had a one time fling when she turned eighteen, but nothing more really ever became of it. She respects him too much to think anything could ever become more again.
{The Shooting Star Funeral}
Once in contact with Ark once more, Thalia found out that her father was one of the many that volunteered to die to give the Ark extra time. Angry and deeply depressed, she jumped into the river to try and drown herself. One of Bellamy's army pulled her from the river before she could drown or be eaten by the water snake. But from then on all of her smiles seemed to be a little more lack-luster.
{Inside the Mountain}
Inside, captured, in the dark belly of the mountain, Thalia's skepticism of adults and heirarchy turned into a bit of a paranoia. While most people enjoyed the pizza and cake and music and fine clothes, Thalia started to get creeped out with how much a Mountian kid named Garfeild kept following her around, 'just happening' to run into her over and over. He was nice enough, but just the feeling of being watched and running into him all the time started to make her think something really weird was going on.
Later on, when the Mountain Men started drilling into people, she never got drilled on, but escaped, leaving with the others and a whole new world of nightmares to add to her night terrors.
{The End of the Mountain People}
When the Arkers and Grounders had their momentary peace, Thalia helped log and record the food supplies and miscellaneous trinkets and object of the Mountain. She flipped through books while doing so and kept a few cookbooks and survival plant guides. She also played the piano and confronted Bellamy about their one-night stand. On shaky but common ground with the young militant, she agreed to forget their night together and try to always have his back, even if she disagreed with him.
{Political Unease in the Arker Camp)
Thalia was one of the few who didn't like any of the leaders struggling for power in the camp. All three men had proven themselves to be overly agressive and militant, not to mention Thalia believed all of them to be too greedy and in it for their own personal gain to be leaders. She was also angry at being demoted from the first Food Handler, down to a glorified helper and chore girl since she hadn't been a food hall worker on the Ark. Even though she knew more than the food hall workers, even taught them more about Earth style food, Thalia was bitter at being demoted due to her age. She said as much to Murphy when following him to entertain herself.
{Jaha's Travels}
Thalia was tempted but did not follow Jaha's.
{The Capital of the Grounders}
While more interested and a bit more trusting towards the Grounders (at least the Tree-people who had been at war with The 100, oddly enough), she did not travel to the capital nor close to any of the tribes villages. She did however meet a Grounder who used and alias and called himself 'Vine', while on a hunt of saffron. She actually learned the name of the plant from Vine and how to harvest it proper and use it on meat when stranded with the Grounder after they had a very child-like fight. This tension seemed to have been built from the chemistry they had together, and the two ended up sleeping together in the meadow. Vine escorted Thalia back to her path to camp and the two went their separate ways. He was seven years older than her.
{War Between the Many}
Thalia kept her head down for the most part, not really involving herself in any fights. Mostly sticking to looking out for number one, she became more reclusive and less exuberant than her former self. She began to trust people less and even started building up supplies for sneaking out on her own.
{City of Light Invades the Minds}
Thalia, before she could escape, was inducted to the City against her will, like many Arkers. When forced to choose between the City and Death, she chose the City. Her duties within the City were non-militant and most just information gathering.
{The City Falls}
When the way out was given, Thalia broke free with the many. After being freed, she aimed a more serious and cyclical personality. While the City made her feel safe and at peace, she recognized the falseness of it and feels torn between love and hate for missing it.
