Months could change so many things. The way someone looked at life among them. The last months shifted Clarkes priorities. But the past days were the things that shifted them the most. The last day had seen the birth of Clarkes very first child. She was a mom now. And the tiny little baby she had carried under her heart for nine months was her entire world now. Her priority. She felt it. She'd do and give anything for him. Now he lay in her arms again. She had just fed him and he was in the process of falling back asleep, snuggled into his plush onesie and his baby blanket. Naturally Clarke hadn't been able to hide her pregnancy forever. She guessed most of Azgeda, if not all and most of her own people knew that this child was Roans. In truth, given how there seemed to be no anger towards that, discomfort and disbelieve at most, she was relatively save in assuming she'd be fine if she took him with her outside. The first test would happen today as she was to be released from medical.
She hadn't told anyone his name yet. But she was finally ready to do so. For the first 24 hours of bliss she had this all between her son and herself. Reality caught up and now she knew she wanted to introduce her little prince to her mother and her mothers boyfriend. And eventually she had to introduce him to Roans closest advisers and friends, at least to those very few that had remained. Maybe life could be good. "We'll go home today, Theo. You get to sleep in your own bed for the very first time, my sweet boy." As she said that, the door opened. Clarke smiled at the visitor, for the first time in so long perfectly happy and content for there was no weight on her shoulders. She was just a mother, like millions of women were before her. "Hey there."

salvation comes at a price
Marcus felt a thrill of excitement at officially meeting the newest addition to the Griffin family. It had been so long since he had felt real excitement for anything that wasn't attached to a bit of dread that the feeling was almost alein too him. He had stopped by to check on Clarke a few times, but had only looked at her son while Clarke was sleeping. He even planned to come and get her himself to walk her to her quarters. Space was limited, so he had opened his room to her and her mother, knowing it might be easier with a baby.
He knocked on the door and Clarke soon opened it, and Marcus greeted her with a welcoming smile. "Clarke," he said in return to the hello she gave him. "I thought I would come and offer my help in getting to your room." He could carry something heavy, or just give her a friend with walk with if she needed. He could even go and get her mother if she rather walk with Abby. "And to meet your son!" Which he was looking forward to seeing, and helping him grow!
He had not spoken of it to many but he had always wanted a child of his own. Though his choice of putting his career before his personal life had cost him that.

Clarke had really come to appreciate Kanes quiet, almost stoic personality during pregnancy, when hormones drove her up the wall in many ways. He was steady. He was always the same guy. She had sought out his company instinctively. Him, her mother and her had formed quite the unusual family. Her baby boy joined this family now. So she smiled brightly when Kane came to bring her to her room - the one she would share with her newborn now. She had a family to rely on, her mom, this almost stepfather. And now this tiny little life in her arms. She couldn't help but love that it was Kane and not her mom getting her. Her mom was with her during Theos birth, Kane got this little milestone. It was a family thing, hopefully something that would translate to the feeling of family she had gained. And so she knew that he would be the first, the first to know Theos name - other than herself. Had life been kinder the first to know his name would have been his father. But his father was gone. Now the honor, fittingly, went to his honorary grandfather.
Clarke held out the little bundle in her arms, silently offering for him to take the adroable little boy out of her arms and into his, if he wanted to. "Well then, here he is." She said. "Meet your grandpa, my little prince, that is if he's okay with being grandpa." She gave him a little look, a little smile. "Grandpa, meet little Theo Jake Griffin."
