whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy didn't drink often. On the Ark is was because he feared the alcohol would make him reckless, especially in conversation and something could slip out about Octavia. On the ground, he hadn't partaken in drinking because he had needed to be in his good senses and of a clear mind to protect the others. But right now, this time, Jasper had managed to convince him. He took a woman's hand who led him to where the drinks were, and told her that he needed to drink a lot more before he could dance. She told him that she would be waiting for him, and with a suggestive look, sauntered off into the crowd of people.
Bellamy's gaze lingered on her, a smile playing on his lips, as he shook his head a little with amusement before turning back to the makeshift bar, taking another gulp of the drink. Bellamy's eyes went to Niylah, the amusement touching his features in a way that felt completely foreign. Just as the way his lips were curled into a smile. Before Niylah's aid at Arkadia, thinsg had been tense between him and her. He wasn't sure where she stood now in her opinion of him, but the drink was certainly helping him to let loose. "You shuold get out there," he said with a slight tilt of his head toward the dance floor, encouraging her to join the others and dance.

Niylah was no stranger to dark times, but she lived each day as it came. The music, the dancing and the drinking was nothing that she would turn her back on. She loved it. She also found Jasper’s tolerance was impressive. She’d been behind the bar, brewing tea with strong herbs and stealing drinks on the side. When Bellamy came over with the blonde, she couldn’t help her grin. He was smiling, which was something she had never seen before. True, they had a tense history, but Niylah had moved past it. She was an ally of Skaikru; his ally. She couldn’t help laughing; nearly choking on the moonshine she’d drank when Bellamy suggested that she dance. “Only if you dance as well,” she practically cooed as she leaned on the bar. Her drink was in hand with a mischievous smile playing at her lips.
“I have a feeling neither of us have done much dancing,” she finished her drink and set down her cup before making her way around the bar. Yes, she’d seen him send the other girl to the dance floor as well, but she didn’t plan on going alone. “You can’t expect me to embarrass myself alone now can you?” her brow quirked and her head tilted as she grinned at him, all the while she was rocking on her heels. She wanted to go, whether she wanted to admit it or not. She loved this... It was lighthearted; something they needed so desperately. “Come on!” she exclaimed as she reached out to grab his hand.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy's smile of amusement grew at Niylah's suggestion. He had rejected the other woman's offer to dance, but something told him that Niylah was going to be far more convincing. Bellamy shook his head a little again. "I don't dance," he repeated the words he'd once said to her, but there was less stubbornness in them. Niylah made her way over to the other side to stand next to him, his eyes following her. Yes; she was most definitely going to be more convincing than the other.
But he liked to see her like this; smiling. Niylah always seemed to have a good spirit about her, a calming one. A soft spoken yet incredibly strong nature. Bellamy hadn't failed to notice such things, but tonight, the nature of their interactions had changed. Unlike ones they had engaged in before. "To hell with you. You only live once." Almost a cruel joke considering the circumstances of impending death. He finished his drink with a few chugs, setting the cup down and finding the impact of it making his head slightly spin, but only for a moment. The unfamiliarity of the beverage clearly having its effect on him.
When she reached for his hand, his fingers curled around hers as they made their way to where the others were dancing. "I should warn you though," he said, leaning toward her, speaking close to her ear so that she could hear considering the loud noise. "When I said I don't dance . . . I meant it," he said a bit jokingly though not without truth, amused with the redundancy of his words. "You'll look a lot better trying than me," he added on, not even realizing that there was an underlying tone of flirtation in his voice. Perhaps from the drink . . . what the hell had Jasper put in there?!

As he followed her, Niylah couldn’t help the flush on her cheeks when he moved in close and spoke against her ear. It was an odd reaction... Before tonight, there had never been an opportunity to see Bellamy this way. She was here as Clarke’s guest. She slept in her bed and comforted her, knowing that her heart wasn’t truly in it. Niylah accepted that... though even in such a casual feeling as his breath against her was more heat and chemistry than she’d felt in a long time. She rolled her eyes and for a moment avoided his gaze as she processed the flirtatious tone his voice carried. She took his other hand and swayed them to the beat of the music with an impish grin.
“Bellamy, Bellamy, always so tense,” she pulled him close and rested her hands on his shoulders before running her hands down his arms. “Relax,” she murmured by his ear as her fingers curled back between his. “Have some fun!” while they could. Oddly, the knowledge that death was on their doorstep only made tonight all the more important. It made the flirtation that much sweeter, as it was without consequences. Bellamy was many things that Clarke was not... She adored Clarke, but she lacked sincerity. These moments made her heart beat faster and her body all the more responsive. With a laugh, she raised Bellamy’s arm and spun beneath it. Her eyes wandered the crowd as they moved chaotically to the beat of the strange music. “Move!” she exclaimed as she moved in closer and pressed against him just enough that their hips touched as she swayed to the rhythm.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT The smile remained on his lips as she commented about how he was always so tense. Jasper had basically said the same thing, realization finally dawning on Bellamy. He could only do so much, and most of the time it was futile. He wouldn't stop trying to protect the others but those that he fought hardest for . . . wanted nothing to do with him. So what was the point? What was the need anymore? Why not smile? Why not let himself enjoy the pleasures of this world, as he once upon shortly upon landing? He couldn't help but bask in the feeling of being so close to Niylah, her scent intoxicating as she moved her hands on his shoulders and slid them down her arm.
Even over the fabric of his jacket, he could feel how soft her touch was. Her words seemingly holding the power for his body to immediately comply, as he relaxed his shoulders. Especially with the way she spoke right near his ear, sending a thrill coursing through his body. His smile grew as she encouraged him to have some fun, spinning under his hand as she lifted his arm . . . her melodic laughter making it so much easier to be at ease. Especially in her presence. He looked at her with soft intent, amusement still dancing in his eyes when their hips touched and she started to sway. It did nothing to help calm whatever was being ignited within him. Bellamy gently put his hands on Niylah's hips, one resting on each side as he titled his head down to look at her.
He started to move his hips, swaying in sync with her so that their bodies would remain in tune. His hands began to slide up her sides, never taking his gaze off of her, as the rest of the crowd was starting to drown out . . . somehow realizing amidst the fixation that he had not yet said a word. "You're making it pretty damn easy to relax. To, forget everything else," he said in a slight tease, but he meant it. His words sincere. He leaned forward again, his body still moving against hers but he leaned forward until they were cheek to cheek, taking in a slow breath to drink in her scent and soak in the feeling of her body against his. "You're a natural," he added on in the same tone, referring to her dancing but also . . . in how she seemed to help calm his mind and heart.

The music seemed to roar; these alien electronics were able to create sound so loud it thundered in her heart. The laughs and babbling in the room was nearly as overpowering—but she could hear Bellamy as if they were the only ones there. As his words brushed her ear and his hands smoothed across her waist, she pressed closer against him. “Letting go suits you Bellamy,” she murmured while her fingers twirled through his locks and her hips continued to sway.
“You’re like Clarke; always so serious...” Niylah’s brows furrowed together for a moment. “But I don’t know who takes care of you... or if anyone does at all,” Her words trailed off with her thought, but the music blared on.
”Jok—“ Niylah stammered a little and straightened up, resting her hands on the back of his neck. ”What I mean is—I’m glad you’re here. I’m glad you’re not alone trying to solve the inevitable—even though I know you want to.” Her words were gentle, she was afraid they’d be carried away by the music. ”I want to help. I want to take care of you. Even if that means getting you high, drunk—even if that means finding a woman—man,” she smirked a little bit to herself, knowing by the way her heart was flipping in her chest she’d be willing to spend the night with him. ”Live like me,” she teased gently as she backed up and twirled under his arm like she’d seen a few others do. ”For the moment; not the outcome.”
