Pike and Hannah hadn't returned from their mission, and Bryan was just about to start organizing a search team when news came in. Coordinates. Some place called Arkadia, where their people were living. Where they were safe, or... relatively so. Bryan didn't waste time organizing their people, finding the best way to get them to Arkadia. They lost three more of their people before they got out of Azgeda territory, and it weighed heavily on Bryan, but they pushed through and finally were being let into the gates of this new place.
It seemed surreal. Bryan wasn't about to get too comfortable too quickly, though. He made sure the wounded among them were taken to medical, not thinking about himself until he knew it would happen. Then he found the nearest guard. He hadn't dared ask about Nate until now, fearing what the answer could be, and how it could affect his ability to get his people here safely. But now... "Do you know a Nathan Miller? He's the son of--" Before he could finish, the guard smiled and pointed behind him. Bryan turned to see Nate coming toward him already, and he sucked in a shaky breath, eyes watering with relief and... joy. A moment later, he managed to unstick his feet from the ground and broke into a jog, running at Nate until he could throw his arms around him, the impact causing them to spin slightly. "Nate," he managed, tears rolling down his cheeks. "You're alive." He pressed his face to Nate's neck, certain he was holding Nate harder than he ever had, but he almost needed to, to reassure himself this was real. Just as he repeated the words he'd just spoken, as if repeating them made it more true. "You're alive." Tag: Nathan Miller

Miller felt nauseous. For months they had been searching for the others, and it was easy to assume the worst. Even when they had gotten a signal from farm, Miller had questioned how it was possible after all this time. Not daring to get his hopes up for the disappointment may be too great to handle. But today, right now, marked the moment of truth. The others frmo farm were starting to filter in and while Miller was part of the group that would help them settle . . . he couldn't focus on that right now. His eyes met the face of each person, diappointment as each passerby was not the person he was searching for. He felt his stomach twist and turn with discomfort. It all came down to this. All those months of so desperately hoping. He would find out today whether Bryan was alive or dead . . . and it made him feel like he was a mess of emotions. But then, he saw him. Miller froze, staring as the figure approached.
Hope was one thing, but the reality of it . . . was so damn different. His throat felt dry, unable to form words as he felt Bryan's arms around him. His hands remained still, but only for mere seconds before Miller finally was able to respond. The familiarity of Bryan's arms around him made him certain that this was real. That he was real. And as if Bryan felt the same uncertainty, that same crippling fear that it was too good to be true . . . he spoke the words that ran through Miller's mind. Miller securely wrapped his arms around Bryan, holding him close as he closed his eyes, nestling his face into the cook of his partner's neck. Breathing in his familiar scent. So much had happened, but he was alive. They both were. And they were finally together again.
"I thought I lost you," he spoke against his skin, words thick of emotion, meant for Bryan and Bryan only to hear. Miller drew back, only to look at Bryan's face, looking over him, taking in every part of him . . . his hands moving to either side of Bryan's cheeks as a smile broke out on his lips. One of pure reief and for the first time in this hell of a world, joy found in being inn the arms of the man he loved. "You look like hell," he joked, a small breathy chuckle escaping him. "But are the best damn sight I've seen for a while." He couldn't even imagine what Bryan had been through, and knew he would find out. But right now, he just wanted to hold him and continue to bask in the relief of being reunited with the man he loved.

For a brief moment, Bryan wondered if something changed by the way Nate didn't hug him back right away. It had been five months, but the thought of Nate moving on hadn't occurred to Bryan. A thought that quickly disappeared again when he felt when Nate's arms went around him, his face pressing into his neck. Nate spoke words Bryan understood too well. He'd tried not to think about Nate not being alive, the reality of this world made it impossible not to.
He pulled back, relief flooding his features as Nate cupped his face in his hands and... insulted him. Bryan laughed before he could stop himself, and while it was soft and breathless, Bryan realized he couldn't remember the last time he genuinely laughed. "I feel like hell," he admitted, knowing the smile and relief on his face would be indication enough that the feeling was returned. That nothing could be better than seeing Nate again. Alive, and seemingly uninjured. Belatedly, he shifted back enough to look down, to look over Nate to see if that was true, and a hint of confusion crossed his face as he took in what Nate was wearing. "You're on the guard?" he said, looking back up, almost disbelieving. Nate had never wanted that. But... so much had changed. It almost made sense. If Bryan, who'd never had a fighting bone in his body, had become a killer, of course Nate would fight in a world like this. He lifted a hand to cup Nate's jaw, his thumb stroking his cheek as understanding slowly replaced his initial surprise.Tag: Nathan Miller

To hear the sound of amusement from Bryan's lips . . . made it impossible for Miller's own smile not to grow. His response that he felt like hell entirely understandable. "Well, hopefully some of that will change here," he said teasingly, but not entirely without truth. The ceasefire had given them all a chance to breathe here; a moment's peace -- no matter how temporary. It may be technically broken, but Miller was going to take what he could. Besides, right now this world felt a lot less like hell with Bryan returned to his arms. His next question caused realization to quickly dawn in Miller, not even having thought about how his position in the guard could come as a surprise to those who knew him on the Ark. Especially someone who knew him as well as Bryan did. "I caved," he answered only in partial jest. On the Ark, he had rebelled against the idea of being a guardsman. [
His words now referencing that, but there was a whole slew of reasons he had wanted to be on the guard. The ability to use his skills to protect others the greatest reason. "Guess I finally made my dad proud," he added on jokingly, gently patting Bryan's cheek in teasing as his eyes starting to look over him, taking a small step back but not far enough to break the contact of their arms and his hands. He was enjoying the sensation of Bryans' finger caressing his cheek far too much. "You don't seem too far from a guardsman either," he commented, taking note of Bryan's size and heavy attire -- though the latter most likely due to the weather conditions in the ice nation.

"Some of it already has," he said, when Nate teased that hopefully his feeling like hell would change here. He was exhausted, and his body hurt. He probably needed to have his stitches checked and he definitely needed to bathe. It was almost strange how everyone here looked so clean. But things had already gotten better because he had Nate back. He only smiled, a slight sadness creeping into his expression as Miller said he caved, and added on he'd finally made his dad proud. Bryan had always wanted Nate to 'make his father proud', so to speak, but this wasn't how he wanted that to happen. Before he commented though, Nate was stepping back to look at him, commenting that he looked like a guard now too.
"Who would have ever thought?" he replied, the question rhetorical, the hint of sadness not fading. He wasn't sure he liked the man he'd become. He could only hope Nate still did when they finally had a chance to really talk. The reference to him being something like a guard reminded him of his responsibilities, and as much as he just wanted to find somewhere to disappear with Nate, he reluctantly pulled away, lowering his arms and looking back at the crowd from Farm. "I need to help them get settled," he said, regret in his voice that they couldn't just relax yet. Then a thought occurred to him. "Your dad. Is he..." Alive? "Here?"Tag: Nathan Miller

Certainly not Miller. He never would have thought that the two of them would be in these sorts of positions. But the ground had a way of . . . changing people. Tainting them. Rather than dwelling however, Nathan was just going to embrace the fact that for once, fate had not been cruel to either of them. At least where the other was concerned. Though he had not missed the exchange in expression, the still existing smile with some sadness to it. Miller glanced at the other group, giving a bit of a nod. With Bellamy and Kane not here, and the Chancellor pulling double duty with patients . . . Miller had offered to help where he could. He glanced back at Bryan when he asked about his father. "He's here," Miller answered, knowing he was damn lucky to have both his father and lover. The same question occurred to Nathan though, his smile slowly slipping, a more serious expression crossing his features. "Your parents?" He asked. But he could see it in the other's gaze . . . he had lost them. The slight shake of his head proved as such, and Miller felt his heart ache at Bryan's loss. His hand went to the back of Bryan's head, looking at him with a sympathetic gaze. "Let's go get them settled." With that, he moved alongside Bryan, aiding those from farm station into Arkadia. Allocating space and ensuring everyone had what they needed took the next few hours. Those who were injured or required check ups were sent to medical. The others were given their room assignments. Most of them were exhausted, which was understandable, and it only made Nathan more and more concerned about Bryan. When things finally seemed in order, he went to his partner, reaching out his arm to gently touch him. "Come on. Everyones settled. You need to rest too." It was clear that Bryan held authority among the people, in the absence of Pike -- who Miller recalled from Earth Skills in the skybox. Ironic, that he now led those from farm. As he and Bryan made their way down the hall, toward Nathan's room, he turned to look at Bryan. "You're staying with me, right?" It was an assumption. And well, wasn't exactly the most romantic way to ask someone to move in with you, or live with you. But . . . things were different here. On the Ark, perhaps it would have been too fast. But down here, Nate didn't want to spend another night without the man he loved. And he just wanted to make sure they were on the same page about that. Tag: @bryanbryanbryan

Bryan could see the sympathy in Nate's gaze when Bryan ony shook his head when he asked about his parents. He closed his eyes at the comforting touch to the back of his head, but only nodded when Nate said they should get everyone settled, grateful they could just move past the subject for now. Once he got a grasp of who did what in Arkadia, as far as settling their people, he started directing the Farm station people where they needed to go. People kept coming to him with questions, and Bryan often had to learn the answers as he went along, but things went as smoothly as they could. He was even more tired when they were finished, so he just let Nate guide him into Alpha and down the hall.
When Miller asked if he was staying with him, Bryan blinked at him in confusion before a strange smile crossed his face as he let out a huff of amusement. "I assumed I was," he said, letting out a short, breathy laugh, because... what a strange assumption that would have been just a few months ago. But in this world, he'd assumed they would stay together, that they'd want to spend whatever time they had left on Earth as close as they could. "Aren't you supposed to propose to a guy first?" he joked, reaching out to take Nate's hand in his as they walked. It was probably a stupid joke, but he was far too tired to care.Tag: Nathan Miller

Miller watched Bryan's reaction to his question, noticing the shock before the amusement came and stating that he assumed he was. That gave Miller some relief, that it wasn't going to be an awkward conversation. In fact, Miller smirked and chuckled a little himself at Bryan's question regarding proposing. The topic would have brought a lot more discomfort on the Ark. Hell, Miller doubted it would even be broached on the Ark. But down here, time was precious. And Miller wasn't taking for granted the fact that Bryan was with him once more. "Is that what you want?" He asked him teasingly. He curled his fingers around his, enjoying the contact and Bryan's warm skin against his own. "To be wooed and swept off your feet?" He further joked as he got to his room. Nathan opened the door, stepping inside with Bryan before closing it with his foot.
He didn't let go of his hand, and instead, turned his body so that he was facing Bryan, standing incredibly close to him. He then leaned forward, closing the distance and pressing his lips against Bryan's in a proper kiss. Something that he had longed to do, and yet, the moment hadn't felt as perfect as it did now. The emotions that rushed through him at the sensation of his lips, was unlike any other. It filled him with a comfort, a energy that he had been deprived of since the last time they were together. Letting it linger for a few moments, Miller eased out of it, slowly opened his eyes as a smile formed on his lips while gazing at the man he loved. "You have no idea how long I've waited to do that." And how overjoyed he was to have the opportunity to do so now.

At least Nate laughed, Bryan thought. It wasn't a joke he would have made on the Ark, or a subject that would have come up, not for some time, anyway. But they were just kids on the Ark. Just five months later, and they were far from kids now, and living with the very real possibility of dying any day. "I mean, I wouldn't stop you," he joked back, at Nate asking if he wanted to be wooed and swept off his feet. It was a ridiculous idea, especially now, but it was so good to be able to just be silly with his boyfriend again. Something he worried he'd never do again.
He enjoyed the warmth of Nate's hand as it curled around his, but when they got into Nate's room, Nate turned and got very close. Bryan let out a shaky breath of anticipation, his heart speeding as Nate leaned in and kissed him. It was like the first time they'd kissed all over again. The thrill of feeling Nate's lips against his own. Only this time it was better, the familiarity of it so missed during their months apart, so comforting in this world where nothing was comfortable.
Bryan returned Nate's smile as he pulled away, his own smile growing at his words. "I know exactly how long," he countered, because he'd wanted it just as long. He lifted his hand to cup Nate's cheek and kissed him again, this time deepening it, a small noise of pleasure escaping him at the slide of their tongues together, his other hand letting go of Nat'es in favor of looping around Nate's waist. He wished he could get lost in this feeling forever.Tag: Nathan Miller

Miller smiled when Bryan told him he knew just how long, before capturing his lips in another kiss. One that Miller immediately returned, a breathy moan seeping into it with the feeling of Bryan's tongue against his. The delicious taste of him an assault of all Miller's senses. Bryan had been his first, and only when it came to the full expression of intimacy. And to be reunited with him again, was beyond incredible. Miller shifted even closer to him when he felt Bryan wrapped his hand around him, Miller's own hand going to the back of Bryan's head, the other sliding up his back over the barrier of his clothing. Nathan once again eased out of the kiss, a little more breathless this time, knowing that there were words he needed to say. Words that he had feared never being able to say again.
"I love you." Words spoken with the utmost sincerity as he looked into the eyes of the man who had captured his heart and soul. But with those, there were others that needed to be said. "I'm sorry, for what I put you through up there." More words spoken with the utmost sincerity and genuine apology in them. Nathan had done something stupid to get arrested. And in the Skybox, he did not take the crime nor his situation seriously, often laughing it off or dismissing the severity. It had been to cover up his fear, and the hurt he knew he had caused to Bryan and his father. Down there though, he'd learned from his mistakes. He had learned just how important the people who love are; how you should never take them for granted. And that was what Miller had done on the Ark. Something he would never do again.

When Nate moved closer, Bryan automatically tightened his hold, pulling Nate against him, little thrills going through him at the soft moan from Nate. The feel of Nate's hand at the back of his head only encouraged him, and the slide of Nate's hand up his back only added to everything, even if he had to ignore the slight pressure against his stitches. When Nate pulled away, Bryan was just as breathless. He wanted to kiss Nate again and again, in spite of his growing awareness that he was filthy and really didn't want to be if the kissing led to pulling each other to bed.
Nate's words stopped the next kiss anyway, a soft smile forming on his face as he took in those words. 'I love you.' Words he wasn't sure he'd ever hear again, and he started to repeat them to Nate, but Nate added an apology. Bryan's smile faded slightly, not out of hurt for the past, but because Nate clearly had thought about it enough to feel the need to apologize. And as much as he understood how much this world could change people, it was still so strange to see how much Nate had grown up in the last five months. It hurt a little, knowing what had likely caused it. He shook his head slowly. "None of that matters anymore," he said honestly. "Just... keep living." Bryan had been terrified Nate was going to die long before he the Ark had suddenly suspended visitation to the Skybox, long before he found out he'd been sent to Earth. Though thinking of it after landing here, he thought getting floated might have been a kinder fate than dying on this planet.
He stroked Nate's cheek with his thumb, his gaze full of love, but also sadness. "I love you too. So much," he finally said, leaning in for another gentle kiss before pulling back. The seriousness of the subject having brought him more back to his senses. He smiled anyway when he spoke, his expression self-deprecating. "I'm filthy. I need to get out of these clothes," he said, pulling away to start tugging off the outer layers of his clothes. "Everyone looks so clean here, I almost don't believe it."Tag: Nathan Miller

Nate watched Bryan, seeing the emotions in his eyes. Miller's guard was completely lowered, something that occurred so naturally in Bryan's presence. And something he had not allowed to happen ever since he was separated from his boyfriend. He felt relief wash over him hearing that Bryan didn't seem to hold that against him. Then again, they had both learned the lesson of this harsh reality. Life was too short. "I finally feel like I can do that, with you here," he told him, about living. Because thus far, Nathan had only been surviving. But perhaps they could eventually live. Truly live. And be happy, in this world that always seemed set on throwing more shit their way. Nathan felt his heart swell at Bryan's returned words of love. Hearing them, having longed to for so long, filled him with emotion, and relieved for the kiss that came after so that Miller could pour that emotion into the embrace. When Bryan pulled back, he stepped away from him, commenting on how he was filthy and needed to change. Miller just smirked as he watched him start to remove his first layers of clothing, commenting on how everyone looked so clean. He knew that was credited to the Ark, for before then at the dropship . . . they didn't exactly have the same luxuries. "You make it sound like being dirty is a bad thing," Miller stated, clear suggestiveness in his voice. "I don't mind if you are," he added on in the same tone, moving closer to Bryan, his gaze falling over his shirt as his hands rested on his boyfriend's waist. "But I guess I can help you," he added on, his eyes following his hands as they started to unfasten Bryan's pants, purposely moving slowly so that his fingers could linger in the area. It felt good to hear those words, words that Nate felt like he could finally live now with Bryan here. Bryan understood the feeling, and he felt it too. He only hoped this world would let them live eventually. When Nate spoke again, commenting that being dirty wasn't a bad thing, Bryan snorted, then chuckled as Nate came closer again, his hands going to his waist. He supposed he should have expected this response. He found himself smiling as Nate's hands slipped to his front to start unfastening his pants.
"I'm not gonna stop you helping," he said. Nate's hands where they were, moving slowly, were exciting, and Bryan sucked in a breath at the way they lingered, even as he tugged his own shirt off. As he dropped it aside, he cupped Nate's face in his hands and kissed him, tongue exploring Nate's mouth, while telling himself not to get too excited. "But I do mind," he added when the kiss broke, referring to Nate saying he didn't mind Bryan filthy. If cleaning up wasn't an option right now, Bryan wouldn't be stopping them, just wanting to feel his boyfriend skin against his again. But with bathing being an option, he wanted Nate to taste his skin, not the dirt and sweat built up on it. "We've waited this long," he whispered, "Let me clean up first." He kissed Nate again softly and pulled back. "I've got a couple stitches that could probably use a good wash anyway," he added, as casually as he could. Nate would see or feel them soon anyway... and realize 'a couple stitches' was an understatement.Tag: Nathan Miller

Miller eagerly kissed Bryan back, his hands still working on his pants during the kiss, deepening the embrace where he could. It had been so damn long, and with the emotional intensity . . . everything felt heightened. When Bryan parted their lips, Miller's eyes remained closed, belatedly opening them to look at his partner. He let out a huff, though a smile formed on his lips as he slid a hand into Bryan's pants, stroking over his length for a moment before pulling away, his hand starting to slide over Bryan's now bare chest. "Alright fine," he said, unable to keep the smile from his lips. "Guess you deserve a shower," he added on with clear teasing, knowing that he more than deserved it.
Such a simple thing yet a deprivation they had all felt when forced away from the comfort of them. "Just, try to make it a quick one," he added on, leaning forward towards Bryan's ear. "And I'll make it worth your while," he said against it, before easing back, in time to get another kiss from Bryan. Though soft and brief, it still felt incredible. He then spoke of his stitches and that caused the smile to slowly fade from Miller's lips. They had all been through so much, and he wasn't surprised to hear that Bryan hads physical scars to go along with the emotional ones. "Maybe you should get one of the docs to look at them," he suggested. Just to be on the safe side.

As much as Bryan told himself not to get excited, his body responded when Nate stroked his cock. Fortunately it didn't respond fully and Nate's teasing didn't last long. Bryan exhaled a heavy breath as Nate's hand slid over his chest, telling him he deserved a shower. And he chuckled as Nate promised to make it worth his while if he made it quick. "I'll do my best," he teased, because he wanted Nate as much as Nate wanted him.
But he saw Nate's smile fade at the mention of his stitches, and his own did as well. "As long as they don't look infected, it can wait until after you make my quick shower worth it," he said, a small, reassuring smile trying to come back on his face, though he knew what he had to ask next, so it felt a bit awkward. "I can't see it, though. It's on my back," he said, the unspoken request for Nate to check it for him clear.Tag: Nathan Miller
