ARE ALL I HAVE EVER KNOWN
Vero was furious. He had been furious ever since discovering that the Commander had withdrawn the army from Mount Weather. With it, came the promise of saving the Reapers. Vero had discovered that his brother Aro, was among them. Turned into a Reaper and, not impossible to turn back. But apparently, Reapers were a sacrifice that the Commander was willing to make. And it made Vero joken livid. All the clans leaers were called to Polis for a meeting of those within the coalition.
Lexa would speak to them, perhaps to calm the raging storm. But it was too late. She was already seen as weak and Vero, was among the ones angered by her decision. She was well protected so he could make no attempt on her life in his irrational anger. Plus, he knew of her skill. Yet again, his anger was just that: irrational. Just as he had been irrational when venturing to the Mountain shortly after Aro was taken. He still didn't have his brother back. And he might be dead by now . . . because of her. Kia had gone to rest in his chambers and usually, Vero would be guarding his door, or remaining close. But this time, he needed to confront her. He needed to demand answers. And he didn't want any joken political or diplomatic repsonse. He wanted the truth. A proper joken answer.
"I demand an audience with the Commander," he stated, his tone and demanour clearly angry. It was what perhaps tipped off the guards to disallow him. Vero was in no mood. He shoved one of the guards off to the side, while slamming his fist into the jaw of the other, both now on the ground as he threw open the doors and barged into the throne room. Heda was there, seated on her throne and Vero locked eyes with her. "I demand a joken audience." He didn't care about the fact that he was cursing. Using far less than polite language. He wasn't even bowing to her. He was too angry; and this anger, could very well cost him his life.

THEY THINK YOU ARE MADE OF STONE | THAT JUST MEANS YOU AREN'T AFRAID OF MAKING THE TOUGH CHOICES | TAGGED @vero
| Lexa wasn’t ignorant to the fact that her decisions regarding the battle of Mount Weather left quite a few believing her to be weak. Being commander wasn’t easy. People expected the world. They wanted their people back, yet they also wanted to fight. She thought that she had made the right choice... after all, the mountain no longer needed her people to survive. They only needed Skaikru. It was a sacrifice that she was willing to make to see her people freed. Lincoln had almost died when the sky people tried to save him. There was no way that she could have guaranteed that they would have been able to or willing to keep their side of the deal. All that she knew at the time was she had a chance to free her people and send them home to where they belonged. Instead of her decision being greeted with cheers and praise though, they labelled her a coward and Clarke Wanheda.
Nobody understood her decision as it was not their way. It was a betrayal and Yujleda was not the only one who had come to her with bloodlust in their voice. He was however the first to burst into the throne room. Lexa had been speaking with Titus; discussing Aden’s progress among the other Natblida children. When Yujleda’s general shoved open the doors, she stood with rage in her eyes. She wore no war paint, but her red sash fell from her shoulder; displaying her rank. “Have you lost your mind,” she murmured in a threatening tone as she held up her hand to stop the guards from detaining him. She stepped down towards him with her hand on the hilt of her blade as her eyes brushed over those that he had brought with him. He had intimidated his way in. “You have an audience; however brief it may be. Speak.” Her eyes flashed back to him; narrowed as they met his. “Before I have your tongue torn out for your disrespect.”
She knew Titus wanted her to bash his legs in and force him to his knees—or have her guards beat him to hell before detaining his backup. Maybe she would do both to send a message. His disregard for her status as Heda was infuriating; and she knew why he was here. Though she wasn’t aware his brother was a reaper, she was aware that Yujleda wasn’t the only clan who was angry about her decision. She was prepared to defend herself—or kill the disrespectful second where he stood.

ARE ALL I HAVE EVER KNOWN
Had he lost his mind? Perhaps. Though he was fairly certain that anoyne else asked about how he currently barged in and addressed the Heda . . . would most certainly agree that he had indeed lost his joken mind. But Vero was beyond that. These bursts of rage reached a level of irrationality. The last time he had felt it burning so intensely in his body was when Aro had been taken. His brother's disappearance, once again the reason for this. Only there was another source to blame apart from the Mountain men.
He hadn't even notice her actions to discourage the guards in her room to take action against him. He didn't care. And that was certainly yet another mistake of his. His chest practically heaved with anger, the one person holding ability to keep him calm conveniently left without knowledge of Vero's presence. For if the Emperor knew, Vero was certain he would be displeased. "It comes as no surprise that you would," he snapped. Savannah was present with him, which always brought strength to a situation. But he had no intention of attempting to attack Lexa. Well, not physically. Words he supposed could be considered an attack as well. Treason.
"As you are capable of anything considering you left our own to joken die!" His voice was becoming slightly raised, his eyes locked on the woman in front of him. Heda Lexa. But his resepct for her had fallen. And logic should dictate that there wasn't much he could do about it. However, he was currently illogical. Incredibly illogical. He had to fight the urge to advance toward her, knowing that whatever step he could, in his current angered state, could be easily -- and perhaps accurately -- deemed a threat. "What of the Reapers?" He finally questioned, his question more accusatory than inquiring. "You did not bother joken saving them! Leaving them to die, when they could be saved!" The accusation less subtle in these words.

THEY THINK YOU ARE MADE OF STONE | THAT JUST MEANS YOU AREN'T AFRAID OF MAKING THE TOUGH CHOICES | TAGGED @vero
| Lexa had her own ways of dealing with this sort of unruly disregard for position. Most of those ways involved a long fall to the grounds below, or a swift beheading. Titus believed that allowing this was weakness, while others believed that not facing it was weakness as well. There was no winning either way, but the things that the general brought up were indeed her fault. Not that she would admit it. “You did not witness the process with which they brought the reapers back,” she growled with her hand resting on the hilt of her sword. “He was dead; brought back only out of sheer, dumb luck. Before that he was nearly impossible to contain. We would never have been able to save all the reapers; most would have died before we could bring them home to begin with!” She wasn’t completely sure of this, but she knew what she saw with Lincoln. They didn’t truly know what they were doing and used strange technology to revive him... Still, it was clear the process was risky.
“My focus was on those who we could save,” she hissed as she approached him. She could see the others tense as though they were ready for a fight. With her guards in place and her own skill, she was not concerned of the possibility. Leaving their own to die was hardly her intention, but when faced with the choice between hundreds of her own, or a handful of half dead men her decision was a clear one. At the time, at least. She didn’t trust Skaikru to follow through... She didn’t plan on defending her actions further to this... Yujleda warrior.
“If you don’t change your tone, I’ll have you locked up until you learn some manners.” She could feel Titus’ gaze on her back as she wrapped her hand around her sheathed sword and stood tall with her eyes narrowed to slits. The tension in the room was thick and her guards on the ready. Her final warning. If he pressed her further he would regret it. “You have your answer. We are done here.”

ARE ALL I HAVE EVER KNOWN
It was true that he had not been there. He had not witnessed nor did he understand the process. But the reversal from Reaper back to man had spread hope among those who had lost someone to the Reapers. A hope that they had not dared for decades. And to be given it, only to have it abruptly snatched away had been too much for Vero to deal with. Too much disappointment. To know that there had been a possible solution . . . but one not to be explored. Due to the command of one Heda. "You don't know that!" He spat out, refusing to believe that someone as strong as his brother -- among many others -- would have died without a fight back to the reality of his life.
"It was worth it! We had hope and you joken took it away from us!" His tone was angry, growing increasingly louder with annoyance. His eyes did not bother to rest on where Lexa's hand remained. Nor did he feel the guards nearing him, a couple pulling out their weapons in preperation should they slaughter him right here and now for such insolence. His rage made him irrational. Perhaps one of his greatest weaknesses. And with Kia not here to help calm him . . . all was being unleashed in such risky circumstances. He didn't care for her logic. If that was what it could be called. "I would rather witness Reapers die in the attempt of returning to man, than leave them to live such a cursed life!" But perhaps she had not lost anyone to Reapers.
In which case, she didn't understand. Or, maybe she did and she was being that typical Heda that did not let emotion cloud her judgment. One that Vero was currently enraged at. His eyes fixated on her, holding a sea of anger as she neared him. "You gave me no answer! Only excuses." One that he did not accept. "You think I stand alone in my rage?!" A rhetorical question. For he knew there were others who were angry with the decision. "Go ahead and joken lock me up! Condemn me like you did so many others! Everyone but our enemy!" For had it not been for Skaikru, the mountain would have remained standing. At this point, he could

| “You are mourning,” she said in a cold and direct voice. Lexa’s calming tone needed some work. With the flick of her wrist she could have this bastard’s head chopped off and thrown off the tower. He seemed to have so many opinions, and it wouldn’t be the first time she threw a disloyal pup to his death.
“So I will excuse this... outburst and let you leave with your life, for whatever it’s worth.” Her guards didn’t budge, she hadn’t told them to. Each one was ready to slice through Vero. Some of them may have even wanted to... They worshiped and respected the blood in a way no one so far from Polis could understand.
”It’s a good thing that you are not in charge,” she said firmly as she shook her head and rested her hand on the hilt of her dagger. ”You would rather see thousands of us die on the chance that we can save the reapers.” She walked towards him with narrowed eyes and a tight jaw. Her hand tightened around her dagger as she eyed him. Even if she wasn’t as tall or physically imposing, she was confident. It swelled around her like armor.
Lexa understood his anger, but she knew siblings were simply a liability. ”Your problem, Vero is that you would let your bleeding heart make all of your choices and damn innocents to hell; people who didn’t have to die. I put my faith in the plan that would bring the most people home.”
