TAGGED @vero | Bambi should have never left Arkadia, but with the return of those who were lost in Mount Weather and the alliance with the grounders that formed, she'd seen many strange people coming in and out of their settlement. Clarke and Abby were directing medical staff in the treatment of the reapers, which brought many clans to their gates. Two days earlier, a grounder from an unknown clan came into Arkadia wearing a nylon wristband made of blue and red threads, braided tightly together. It was a bracelet that Bambi had made for her husband... he was assumed lost to Factory Station, after that girl Mel was rescued and claimed she was the sole survivor. Bambi didn't believe her, especially when she saw the grounder wearing the uniquely wound chord. She tried to talk to him; to ask him about where he had obtained the jewelry. If her husband was alive and had traded it with him, or he had even stolen it from his breathing body then there was hope. Yet, if he picked it out of the crash site, she'd have closure. Though, when she did try to talk to him, he left on his horse and did not speak with her at all... Driven by desperation, Bambi stole a horse from the stables and left Arkadia as quickly as she was able to. By that point, the grounder and his fellow clan members had been long gone with only tracks to lead her to them. She'd never ridden a horse in her life, or tracked a human in the woods. The traffic around Arkadia was obscene as they transferred reapers in and out of the camp as well, so she wasn't even sure what tracks she was following... Night fell too quickly, and before Bambi had reached the end of the trail she was following, she'd lost her way completely. It had been hours. Worse than all of that, she could feel herself being watched. Stiffly, she directed her horse towards the creek where the tracks ended and winced as she slid off the saddle. "Stupid, stupid... damn it," she muttered to herself as she tugged the reins over the horse's head and led it to the creek. She dropped to her knees and gave up whatever pride she'd held onto the scoop up much needed water and bring it to her lips. Yet, before she could get her fill, a massive, black panther leaped from the brush at her horse-- pulling a scream of terror from Bambi. The horse jerked away and Bambi didn't waste time trying to coax it to follow her. She ran through the creek and deeper still into the woods so fast and blindly that branches hooked into her hair and scratched at her face. She ran so long her chest ached as much as her stiff legs, yet she still felt like she was being followed by the creature, even when the mud on the ground put up so much resistance she collapsed; scared and confused. She could hear movement, even over her loud and painful heartbeat. "Who's there!? I know you're fucking there!" she yelled as she slipped out a pitiful blade she'd used for slicing through thread. "WELL!? COME ON!" she yelled hoarsely before grabbing a stone and throwing it in the direction of the movement, knowing she couldn't outrun another animal. She was sure she was too far from any camp for it to be a grounder. |
